Maybe Yorubas should worry about their somalia looking land before advising others, any other place aside Lagos in southwest is still in the stone age as far as I'm concerned.

Fact is the SE is a a barren desolate erosion ravaged cursed and god forsaken unproductive piece of land. So its people have had to flee and do not wish to return.

Problem is they are ill mannered and criminal and despised wherever they go . I could show some videos of their criminal behaviour in South Africa,Malaysia on the streets drug dealing but I will keep that till tomorrow
and there are no yorubas who are criminals in south africa, malasia and the UK? When u point a finger the rest points back @ u dude......stop embarrassing ur self....

like every family in ekiti having a professor,or thunder balogun taking a shot and it passed thru the stomach of a goal keeper....or the yorubas claiming that benjamin adekunle ended the war. While dying wretched and hungry,or oduduwa falling from the sky with a chicken and the chicken gave birth to the yoruba people?? Huh? Funny people?
Do not try to be funny .That will not work. You folk are irredeemable Liars. Yes Benjamin Adekunle inflicted much suffering on Eboes that i a fact as did our Patron Papa Awo and we are proud of them for providing a good response to your treachery and aggression

And you talk about being lazy? In PH the yorubas I know are mostly tailors, agbo sellers or taxi drivers.......please spare me that junk

So what have you said Now? Is this really a political debate? Is this question really genuine? Is it too much to allow them do whatever they want to do?
judging from the nature of comments from the Igbos so far, do you think they agree with you?
It's really painful when people just don't know when to back off. The education system has failed, Yes, but you can't use me to judge that because I know what not to do so it wouldn't trigger ethnic bashing, Mr.

Innocent question or not, it's uncalled for. Take a Good look at the topic one more time before you write me another long epistle. If they do it and fail, you would need not advice them again It and if they succeed, I would really be happy for them.

I think everyone should be concerned on how to advance his or her own region. Leave the Igbos to think for themselves, biko

My question was that why must we see things from tribal perspective? No. Is it wrong for an Igbo guy who wants to know what Yorubas stand to gain in forming alliance with CPC just like the Op? No.

All I need to do as yoruba man who knows what yoruba nation stands to gain in a less corrupt country is to explain to him/her the reasons why I prefer Buhari to Jonathan. Let me cite corruption as one of the reasons why i would be asking my family to vote for Buhari. Secondly, as a former military of state, d issue of boko haram ll be dealt with less corrupt military institution and other reasons.............. That is all

However If I see that question from the way u have seen this Op's question, I ll definitely attack whoever ask me the same healthy questions

i am one who believes in intelligent argument, reason why i have mellowed down a bit on this section as a result of the warped and illogical contributions of monikers on both sides of the divivide i.e apc and pdp whose trade in stock of false stories and propaganda has made me an onlooker.

A particular event brought up this discuss.it happened yesterday that i was in a group of igbo youths and we were discussing the current visitation of gej to the southwest states. As usual they were on the forefront agian making noise insulting yorubas and hausas and proclaiming the gej mantra.as is the case on nairaland the words were so high in defence of the president.buhari is devil.okorochas is an efulefu.yorubas are dirty.jonathan must win.

As weird and irrational and short sighted their submissions were, deep down me some questions were raging..but i am sure the dudes there i would ask would still rant their noise of bigotry even if i pose it to them that;

1.their superstar gej is currently begging the yorubas the supposed dirty people and looking for all means even if it entails prostratin for a yoruba kid.

2.the hausas they are insulting even if jonathan wins will surely take over in 2019 and igbos can do nothing to change it.

3.they the noise makers are strategically beign schemed never to take power till they stop their any government in power and take a stand irrespective of any tribal card their leaders may take for personal benefits.

4.that if jonathan wins the second niger bridge will remain in the papers as it is now.

5.that whethre apc wins or not the yorubas have successfully put up a stride that will make themselves benefit even if apc looses.the massive projects in yoruba lands currently by gej will guarantee

conclusively i ask if the future of the igbo dream is safe with all this bigot whose sense of reasoning has beign damaged by extreme tribalism and political opportunism.i ask if the ndigbo dream is safe with youths who reason like those igbos of today?

I don't know what's the problem of some yorubas on nairaland. The habit of always advising igbos is becoming to much.

Aside Lagos, there's no where in SW that matches the least state in the SE.

It is never a problem when a Yoruba or Hausa supports Buhari, but it's a problem when an Easterner supports GEJ.

Hypocrisy and tribalism is really disturbing these set of Yorubas here.

Very jealous people
This is how it started

When the Igbo support an easterner, you call them tribalist, when the Igbos doesnt support theirs you say they hate each and they are not one. Some say why cant we support Chekwas, i ask the Yorubas why cant they support Remi of KOWA. Our future isnt your business, face your people. The main reason the Yorubas are supporting Buhari is because of osinbajo, another reason is because gej didnt put the yoruba in any envy-able position. Deep down within you,you know the truth. Jonathan has done more for the igbos and Nigeria more than any other president. Under him an igbo man was head of military which no other person did. He almost anihilated boko haram, the northerners screamed genocide and gej was forced to remove him. He gave the igbos an international airport,i can now travel 4m enugu to london. He reconstructed many federal roads in d east,he privatised power and laid the foundation 4 constant electricity, his automotive policy has created many jobs in the southeast wit innoson and shemak, with their multiplier effect, he gave us a new federal university, the second niger brigde is under construction. Now leme ask you? What did obasanjo do in his 8yrs in office? I now travel to owerri 4m lagos with ease,5hrs journey. Lagos ibadan that your grand father obasanjo could not do jonathan is doing it. Ore benin road, is amazing, one could actually go 200km per hour on that road, onitsha owerri is wow. So pls allow the igbos vote who they wants too cos it aint ur business. And again, talking about the presidency, the north has been der 4 38yrs how developed are they? What about the southwest? Apart 4m lagos wat again? Have you been to anambra of recent, owerri,or enugu? Have u checked the latest literacy rate statistics, state with the highest number of professors, highest SAN, highest education, lowest poverty rate? it might surprise you the too know the igbos are ahead, even without the presidential position. FACE YOUR PEOPLE AND LEAVE THE IGBOS ALONE.
NOTHING TO ADD TO THIS

Thk you. That is my point; let's come together for or against anything that is good or bad for our Nation.
If Igbos are praising and drumming their support for Jonathan today cos of his ethnicity while others are complaining bitterly of poverty, be rest assure that Igbos ll face the same music when the power goes back to the other side and at that jucture, having supported corrupt govt, it ll be hard to start a war or emancipation rhetoric

The same thing is applicable to Yorubas and Hausas

You are almost the only one who sees the question as innocent and well meaning. The question have not achieved anything so far but has increased the tension between the two tribes. It's no secret they take anything coming from another tribe to their own tribe as offensive. Even when you praise them and praise another tribe as well giving them almost the same qualities or different qualities, they would never be satisfied... they just have to reduce and ridicule that tribe especially if it's Yoruba... Why would anyone want to dabble into their affairs especially a Yoruba person. You need no soothsayer to know how they would react to this question posed by the OP.

Leave them to their affairs, I'm sure they know what they are doing.

Before I proceed, are you Igbo, Edo, Yoruba or others? Let me quickly say this, I know there are tribalists here who pick on every little things. However, these tribalists are equally divided to both sides but among all these tribalists, there are open-minded and unbiased minds who could debate about Nigeria politics without resulting to tribal bashing.

The point u made was clearly understood by me and respect your submission on this issue but you seemed not to get my point. I cited myself as a typical example as to what my reaction would be if anybody throw that question to me from the other divide-Igbos.

I put it to you that it's only the bigoted ones that would find anything like this question offensive. Let me cite Scotland as another typical example here, last year, Scotland voted for either to remain in UK or leave to become an independent nation. Questions were asked around the world about Scotland decision to leave UK and one of these questions was "what would be Scotland gains if Scottish people vote for independence?"or "what would Scottish peoples' future look like after independence"? These are healthy questions and i hardly read anywhere that scottish nationals got up as a result of these questions being asked. People around you ll question you naturally.

In every sane society, questions ll always be asked and the need for the open-minded and unbiased ones to chat about failures and success from both divides should be encouraged. If I fail in School as a student and my parents get to know about it, it's natural for my parents to get upset about it and it's equally natural for my well wishers to be disappointed in me and ask questions as to what causes my failure. If you r open minded person, the answers to my unresolved assignments in School could possibly be handled by one of these well wishers but if I m arrogant person, I ll get upset about the fact they are getting involved.

Praise the day Ire
Praise those who went before Ire
Praise Papa Awo
Husband of the Eboe
you did not allow the young to bite
White Yam and red oil
Nay bitter leaf and dead rats
is their share. Large heads and big
bellies.You punished the evil doers

Praise Adekunle the Black Scorpion
don't fight with we don't play with them
Dine and dance let them hate
don't fight with we don't play with them
Your back is like rock and
Eagles watch your flank
You strode into Mgbidi
The mother searched in vain for her bairns
You rode into Orlu and Hooshay lost an eye
Orlu was no different.Ask Seenydoo
He has no legs. Benjy baba
don't fight with we don't play with them
Be to them a bringer of justice.
don't fight with we don't play with them

Greet Ojuiku and tell him Naija is one
The Bee buzzes and
the Car is is oiled purring
Fer me there is no shaking
We greet those that have gone before
As we greet a new day
as we dance our enemies
Hateful,impotent stares
does not the chicken look
at the bottled corn all
Night it looks but never eats
We shall dance and they shall look
we shall dance and they shall hate

To this may seem rational and sensible to me it is a rationalization and justification.
If you have a neighbour who is a prostitute it is legitimate to wonder about sexually transmitted disease do we then approach her to ask if she has done HIV Test. Leave Eboes alone .
If an elder has bad breath we do not ask him if he washed his mouth and so your rationalization at best if I am to be polite is naive. We do not ask a man how his wife got pregnant. So asking stupid questions and trying to dress them up in specious logic may seem attractive to some but it is a stupid and offensive question all the same. The analogy yo provide with Scotland is quite childish and may appeal to weak minds. Go back and read the heading of the thread again. The mark of a wise man,an adult is he does not say or ask every question that enters his head.

The mark of a wise man,an adult is he does not say or ask every question that enters his head.

Life could be funny sometimes! I used a proper nation/race - Scotland just like Biafra and Odua nation as a typical example, u faulted it but only for you to turn around and used peoples' disabilities such as bad breath and being a prostitute as an example.

If you are a prostitute around typical Nigerians, they will question your sanity and self - esteem but it's left for the prostitute to develop a thick skin which is always the case anyway or explain what led her to it so as to make people around her to see reason with her; it could be an economic reason or psychological one. And guess what, some of people who would question her as to why a decision to go into prostitution might end proffering a solution. Tackling that point of HIV that was raised by u, the first thing that comes to normal and sane humans when they have any encounter with a confirmed prostitute is asking d prostitute if she has already been HIV tested or not.

All I said is that we should always try and look at things from objective perspective rather than tribal perspective.
