Which government? GEJs government ends in less than 2 months and the budget is yet to be passed. It makes no sense to pass a budget when your administration will not last for more than 5 weeks. What will the budget be for? You'll be be passing a budget that the succeeding government might not be able to work with. It is better that the transition committee come up with a new transition budget or Buhari passes the new budget by himself.
Or better still, the APC work with the transition committee to adjust the budget to suit their revenue and expenditure plans.

What you are saying is not practical, we are already in April. A new budget would take another few months to be approved . Government has to function before then..

The budget is already with the national assembly, what does the transitional commitee have to do with it??

No English dictionary has been able to explain the difference between the 2 words "COMPLETE"And FINISH". Some people say there is no difference between "COMPLETE" AND "FINISH", But there is. When you marry to the right woman you are COMPLETE. And when you marry to the wrong woman you are FINISHED! When your wife catches you with another woman you are COMPLETLY FINISHED!! And when your wife likes shopping so much you are FINISHED COMPLETELY!!!lol

They're now trying to use the non passage of the budget as a cover up to mask their inefficiencies. If the budget seems to be a problem, they should tell GEJ, a supplementary budget will be passed now and Buhari will pass a standard budget when he takes over. Nigerians don't have time, we can't wait till october for you start being serious.

Please go back to sleep, it is too early to yarn nonsense abeg grin

Many agree subsidy must go but government should improve local refining capacity first. That way, the shock is managed.

Nigerians are in for a long thing if that's so, fixing the refineries/increasing local refining capacity is a project that will span several years, maybe 5 years in the least. When will Buhari then remove the fuel subsidy if that's the case?

11. While power reform has been commendable, and will continue, the approach will change. Transmission will be deregulated, regionalized and privatized in order to break down centralized transmission; issues of gas supply to Gencos will be addressed but the new government believes that DISCOs are the biggest bottlenecks presently; the government plan to add-on 4,000 MW of power every year and expect that output will be a minimum of 12,000 MW at the end of term of this mandate

The above can only be a tall dream. I repeat a tall dream.

Quote me after 2019. The same mistake Goodluck made.

Under estimate d rot in power industry at ur detriment.

The transmission infrastructure can't even carry 5000MW of power and this is a highly capital intensive aspect of power generation, transmission and distribution.

Buhari just exposed himself too early

Fixing already existing refineries will not take five years.

Dangote refinery will also come online soon.

I am so happy we have been rescued from the hazard PDP has prepared for this country.

For once, I could feel there's hope. If APC led Government can follow the vision/mission as outlined, then the evil and demonic party ........ would soon be extincted.

There is one thing that is for sure
If Buhari will follow the good foundation already in place by GEJ which he would have implemented if given the chance by the North, I think Nigerians can smile.

Because GEJ has done all the ground work he just had to deal with the distractions.

Nice step by Buhari.

I don't know that the guy is so daft like this. See all his arguments, and replies. He doesn't even know anything about budgets and planning. Saying that the present legislators should not pass the budget now until new government takes over, so that they won't have any excuse.
Are they the same legislators that are coming back? Was the budget not proposed by the present administration. I am sure he must be a tanoid.

And I kept shouting it, why go after Buhari, when you had some sectors like Agriculture which you did well in?

Although when it came down to it, the people in the southwest would have still voted for the APC because of Tinubu and Osinbajo. And the north would have still voted for their brother. Not minding the fact that the benefits that were derived from the Agricultural sector was directly felt by the north than any other region.

That said, the protests that trailed the partial removal of fuel subsidy must also trail any plans by the government to also do same. We didn't resist it under the past administration only to embrace it in the present one.

And I hope Pastor Tunde Bakare would also lead the protest for this one. As it would also affect the generality of Nigerians.

Brother, it is practical. A budget can be passed in less than three weeks. This current budget belongs to GEJs government and GEJs government should not pass a budget that Buhari cannot work with. Thats the point. It is better that Buhari passes the budget three weeks after he commences than work with a budget that does not conform with his expenditure and revenue plan. I don't know if you get what I'm talking about?

How soon is soon? Do you know how long it takes to commission a new refinery? I can assure you that given the state of the government owned refineries fixing them will take a considerable amount of time.

I disagree with you, I think the power plan is brilliant. By focusing on distributed energy, the cost of transmission infrastructure is reduced.

That is why the goverenment wants to move away from centralised transmission. If industrial/trading clusters are provided distributed power, you are boosting your economy and providing jobs.

It is only a fool that will keep doing same thing all over again and expect different results.
There are many ways to get different results, even while you use same resources.
Let's wait and see how they will tackle it. It's too early for judgement. Even, I heard osinbajo talking about building mini refineries around regions to decentralise the fuel challenges as part of their plans. It sounds so good and achievable if it falls in to the right hands.

7. A very LEAN government is the focus; this will involve resolving overlapping and redundant MDAs; largely in line with the Steve Oronsaye presidential committee report; this report was available to GEJ’s government but the will to implement it was absent.

While I don not discourage the implementation of the Steve Oronsaye report, Buhari's government should try to avoid job losses as much as possible. I know some people will lose their jobs but Buhari should try to reduce this to the barest minimum.

Carry out the reforms but ensure it has a human face ooo.

If anyone can get me to like that party APC Its Dr. Kayode Fayemi seriously i like him. Buhari would never have thought about this policies if not people like him are on his sides. Most of this policies are that of GEJ but revamped. Oga so APC was just on to destroy Jonathan's Government. Let's see how far they can go in their new government.
