Hazard is a quality player who can transition d game at any moment.Full of pace, trickery and all dt.Credits to him bt he is not in my opinion among d top 10 players in world football . luckily he has age on his time and will get there if he works hard!

Souness believes Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is close to Messi and Ronaldo

Former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness believes Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is approaching the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Daily Mail.

The Belgium international made his 100th Premier League appearance during the Blues’ 1-0 win against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. He set up Cesc Fabregas’ 88th-minute winner at Loftus Road to help Jose Mourinho’s men take an important step towards the title.

Hazard is considered the frontrunner for this season’s Player of the Year award as a result of his consistent excellence, The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals, registered eight assists and also completed 148 take-ons – more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

Souness believes Hazard has the potential to get even better in the future, and he feels he isn’t far from the level of Messi and Ronaldo.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “The way he goes past players, he makes good players look ordinary. He’s a bit like Messi and Ronaldo in that when you see them go past people, you think “that’s bad defending”, but no it’s not not. These guys are just that good and Hazard is close to that category.

“He certainly needs more goals for me but he’s one of the few players that gets you on the edge of your seat every time you watch him play. I still think there is much more to come from him in the future.”

Souness continued to praise Hazard’s dribbling – the one area he’s outshone the La Liga superstars in this season – adding: “He’s got dancing feet hasn’t he? When he runs with the ball it’s never more than nine inches away from his feet.

“So if you’re a defender, the minute you stick out a foot, he’s skipped past you. He’s got great feet and looks to be a strong boy too. If you look at him he’s all there, if he wants to stand up to challenges he definitely can.”

Chelsea have already won the Capital One Cup this season, and they are on course to win the league for the first time since 2010.

Mourinho’s side are currently seven points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand and face third-placed Manchester United at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Hazard has played more key passes than any other Premier League player this season (79).

Messi led Argentina to d world cup final. He has also won the youth tournaments. Tell me what Hazard has done for Belgium. Feliani is rated higher than Hazard in Belgium.

Messi is Argentina's 2nd highest goalscorer of all-time after Batigoal. He helped his country to a World Cup Final

How can you compare that to a European and International nobody like Hazard

While we can't take out the penalties it is always important to note that over 40% of his goals come from the spot. Always add that caveat

EPL you people hype players too much in that league but when it matters most you are always nowhere to be found

Bro stop hating, creative players are rated with chances created because that's putting another player ina position to score. Whether it becomes a goal depends on the teammate assisted.

2nd highest? Why not highest? World cup final? Why not world cup winner?

Btw before you start misquoting me, I never compared Hazard's career to Messi's. I brought Messi's Argentina career up to show you that for Hazard to perform well in one competition and not too well in another doesn't make him a bad player like you want to paint him. For all his records smashed in Barca, Messi still doesn't have anything to show in the Argentine shirt. BUT that doesn't take away the fact that he is a phenomenal player.

Stop hating on Hazard. I have provided screenshots showing how good Hazard is. Provide yours to show how crop he is and let's see. You won't. All you guys do is shout up and down how overhyped Hazard is.

You still haven't told me why we should remove Hazard’s penalties.

Or you want to tell me that you don't know that teams have particular players that take responsibility of PK? Is it Hazard’s fault that he has that responsibility in Chelsea? Wait, do you think that penalty goals are that cheap? Haven't you seen or read of people that missed as much as three PK in a match? You guys keep shouting goals assists goals assists as if that is the only criteria for knowing the best players. Granted, goals and assists are VERY important part of a great player's game. But have you asked yourself this: How many goals or assists does Fabio Cannavaro have in 2006 to be crowned world best?

Look at those screenshots again. You will notice different aspects to ones game that will make him a COMPLETE player. Not just goals and assists. Zidane have never been a highest goalscorer when he won his world bests... I can go on and on to name great players who don't score that many goals but are undoubtedly football greats.

I still maintain that although Hazard is not in the same bracket with Ronaldo/Messi, he is not that far from them.
