saengine: Jets don't win air war because of their name or reputation, they win based on the missiles they carry. Simple fact. SAAF Gripen jets have NO long range air to air missile, NAF F-7 will match them or use extra range advantage of PL-9C missile. South Africa bought Gripen jets with poor short legged air to air missiles, that is your country's stupiidity and error and is none of my business, it's your problem not mine. Who c.ursed SAAF with curse not to have a long range BVR missile, am I the witch/wizard that cursed them ? Your jets get into air to air combat with enemy interceptor jets as soon as they get airborne, you cannot even get a chance to drop your guided bombs with NAF jets firing PL-9C missiles at your Gripen jets struggling for survival, the Hawk jets won't even wait to see the F-7 Vs Gripen outcome, they will run away for survival You say it's my opinion, but the technical data sheets prove me right for all these weapons capabilities : At 40 km away, your Gripen radar CANNOT identify specific targets. At close range below 10 km your Gripen jet gets sh.ot down. You want to use recon pod at 30,000 feet ? 10 km away above clouds you cannot identify and enemy target, what is the maximum range of your recce pod for precision targeting ? Paveway bomb maximum range is about 15 km. Umbani or Al Tariq and Paveway guided bombs all have a snail slow speed of less than 150 km/hr.....the Roland anti-air missile flies over 2,000 km/hr . Shilka anti-air gun is radar guided and is designed to sh.oot down jets that fly at about 1,000 km / hr....your guided bomb speed is only 150 km/hr like a tortoise crawling to the market to do shopping . South Africa has a useless long range capacity that will be neutralized by Nigerian air force and army. Your weapons will work better against countries like Lesotho and Swaziland, go try your luck there . 1 Like

agaugust: Augustus. We have told you over, and over and over. Hawk will use the data-link. Hawk can fly at an altitude of 6km where it is safe from Rolands and your Shilka. Nigeria has never fought an air war, bombing rebels without an air-defence network is no different to us training with practice munitions. This is just another one of your jealous outbursts!! |

agaugust: So what then about Iraq and Libya? Your AAA has CRAM capabilities? lol, Iraq had the same Roland launchers and the same AAA guns and they got blown back into the stone age. So, citation please. agaugust: Name your ground radar please Ok, 35km range missiles? Your source says they cannot operate above 6km. Gripen fly at 6km, your jets get slaughtered because they cant shoot. agaugust: arrrgggg this is such a waste of time. Augustus, what single peice of evidence do you have to suggest that a Roland or Shilka has CRAM capabilities? Gripen radar can ID ground targets at 40km away Gripen flying at 6km is safe from Rolands and Shilka Gripen can use Recon pod at 6km... why must it be at 30 000ft? Main point: Who and what say that Shilka and Roland can target tiny bombs? We know we can because we specifically ordered the upgrade to give us CRAM capabilities, but you dont have that capability |

I previously thought they were people wanting to darken south africas image. now its clear that xenophobic elements in south Africa were spreading the false info to scare foreigners so they'd leave or those planning to go there, will no longer want to. |

agaugust: Again....you will be demolished every single time. Forcing you to make up sh*t as you go along. -Nigeria has NO/ZERO 35km air-air missile. You have an obsolete 3rd generation 22km missile. -Gripen with Iris-T will shoot down F-7 with PL-9 every single time. Fact. Deal with it. Even your master God Beegeagle says F-7's were a complete waste of money. High value scrap. -You see how you just make sh*t up? Today....2015....no airctaft can identify targets at 30000 feet? Are you ma.d? Seeker UAV can see a tennis ball at 5000 feet, you dont think a dedicated recon pod cant see artillery positions, convoys, radar masts, oil refineries at 30 000 feet? Gripen doesn't even need to be there....6km is just fine. Capturing target GPS locations, and relaying it back to Hawks. -Nigerian pretend air defences cannot cover all key positions. You keep running away from that point. We will gladly bomb your oil refineries, air port runways, bridges, arms depos, convoys etc etc. You will be stretched thin. -post proof NOW that Umbani travels at 150km/h. Show us an article which SPECIFICALLY states the speed of Umbani, and names Umbani by name. Umbani is not just a simple glide to target bomb. It can perform maneuvers when approaching target. You think a weapon which can perform a dog-leg turn over target, swoop down to hit at 90 degree angle is only travelling at 150km/h? -only a basic fo.ol like you educated under a tree will think a streamlined bomb, which a much much lower drag coefficient has a lower terminal velocity than a skydiver. A skydiver can fall above 200km/h. Now you come and tell us a streamlined bomb, falling from 30 000 feet will only reach 150km/h. Go back to school fo.ol. You see how you are a fake military researcher who starts making up numbers when he panics? |

Where do these BH terrorists get tanks and bombs from?,it is very baffling that they are able to sneak in convoys of tanks to their hideouts, making confrontations much more inconvenient. I still believe that the Tchadians are directly arming BH,if not,how come BH fighters cruise around in new tanks?,does that mean ISIS is siphoning heavy weapons into sambisa forest straight from libya?,highly unlikely. |

osystein: South Africa is a big disgrace to the entire continent of Africa and the whole black race worldwide. "There’s a war on now in South African cities, but no one’s calling it what it is. South Africans, mostly Zulu, are attacking shops run by foreigners, driving the aliens (mostly Zimbabwean, Somali, Nigerian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi) out of their neighborhoods. You can call these “riots” if it makes them seem smaller and safer, but the truth is, this is war. This is what war looks like, most of the time." Nation of animals in human skin ! . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 1:07pm On Apr 25, 2015 |
Patchesagain: Boko Haram never had any MRAP unless you shipped one to them. They also had strange looking Shilka that has an abnormal shape, as well as Toyota mounted ZSU-23-4 all of which came from Libya and Sudan black markets. Yes they captured some APC and T-55 tanks but Nigerian army has collected back everything or destroyed all of them, a war feat that SANDF has failed to achieve in Bangui as Seleka has gained permanent life long ownership of many South African army vehicles that we have been seeing on display for two years now, SANDF has no courage to go get them back or at least destroy the vehicles to stop the daily embarrassment from Seleka gangster rebels who are having fun cruising around in equipment Mandela bought with hard earned money . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by EVarn(m): 1:17pm On Apr 25, 2015 |
Patchesagain:Initially, not all of the 35 communities temporarily occupied by BH had military presence or any major hardware deployment,so it would be very wrong to claim that BH acquired Nigerian military weapons in all of the 35 recently liberated communities.Only a microscopic few towns had any military presence initially, that is why BH fighters were able to occupy communities in the first place, until they were violently defeated. Moreover, almost all of the T55 and Mowags operated by BH have been destroyed in battle. |

saengine: Look at what garbage you wrote above, let me quote it below : " -You see how you just make sh*t up? Today....2015....no airctaft can identify targets at 30,000 feet? Are you ma.d? Seeker UAV can see a tennis ball at 5,000 feet, you dont think a dedicated recon pod cant see artillery positions, convoys, radar masts, oil refineries at 30 000 feet? Gripen doesn't even need to be there....6km is just fine. Capturing target GPS locations, and relaying it back to Hawks. " See how I forced you to dance to my music You said flying at 30,000 feet your jets will detect ground target, then I asked you what is the range of your targeting or recon pod? You quickly realized your error of 30,000 feet and now you say Seeker drone saw tennis ball at 5,000 feet....cool....that is exactly what I said, at the range or altitude your jets can identify ground targets, your jets will be inside the range of Nigerian air defence syatems and get shot down, your new 5,000 km altitude is just 1.5 km....you see how a Nigerian from a war experienced air force beats up a South African day dreamer whose air force is always sleeping in bed or flying V.I.P transport for politicians? Your SAAF will need to identify targets and get into the 8 km range of Nigerian air defences to be sh.ot down like houseflies facing insecticide. Your recce pods or lightning targeting pods need a laser designator on the target to guide your Umbani bombs, so how will South African troops walk through the deadly Nigerian infantry, blood thirsty currently combat experienced Naija troops who have 3 times the manpower numbers of SANDF, how will you walk through all our vanguard soldiers' positions to go and hand place a laser designator device inside Nigerian territory for your Gripen jets? Laser guided bomb needs laser designator placed by human hand on target, or else the jet will fly very close into the range of deadly enemy air defenses to laser illuminate the target after identification and then drop laser bomb on it.....whichever method you choose, it is death by Roland or death by Travor rifle. You say South Africa will bomb Nigerian oil refinery 5,000 km away....your Gripen jet combat radius is only 850 km, are you m.ad ? We have all agreed after argument on this forum that the technical and scientific fact of guided bombs is that they are NOT missiles, a bomb is NOT equal to ROCKET-MISSILE, guided bombs have NO fuel powered rocket, they run on batteries like your Nokia phone, they have no rocket speed, they glide through air on wind speed and gravity pull, their maximum speed free fall is about 150 km/hr like my Toyota car, they are too slow and a Shilka or Roland will eat them for breakfast as your Umbani gets wasted and your already cash broke SANDF loses more money again. See dude, a 150 km/hr snail speed guided bomb is ZERO threat to an air force that has 2,000 km speed anti-air missiles. You say we have only 16 Rolands? Yes how many such equipment do you have in South Africa? You have ZERO The only SAM in SANDF has NO radar and it's maximum altitude/ceiling is 1 km....Togo republic will R.ape SANDF with Alpha jets 16 Rolands and 30 Shilka is more than enough, one single Roland stopped British air force attack on Argentine air base in Falklands war, the Britain had to wait for her army to win the ground war before they could defeat the airbase defences of Argentina, that is how powerful Roland is in real war. Nigeria also has hundreds of Type 90 computerized anti-air twin guns designed to sh.oot down cruise missiles that fly at 700 km/hr speed. Dude, 16 Roland, 30 Shilka, 100 Type 90 is enough air defence against a weak air force like South Africa that has NO SINGLE air to surface missile.....guided bombs of snail slow 150 km/hr speed will only be a threat to rebels like Seleka if you ever find the courage to challenge them again One Roland, protects one NAF airbase. How many airbases do we need in war, 100 airports? Fool ! We have 50 mobile air defences, one for 1,000 troops and we protect 50,000 man army as big as the whole South African army. You think anti-aircraft weapon system is like a AK-47 rifle that armies carry about in thousands of numbers? F-7 jet, if you like say 22 km missile range, still a match for Gripen jet missile with 22 km range. I see a stalemate in air war if not a victory for NAF. On the ground, Nigeria will completely whitewash and hogwash South Africa, Nigerian army is 3 times bigger and 100 times more experienced than South African army that is commanded by a rag tag ex-rebel army chief of staff General Shoke who has ZERO modern combat experience and was trained only for ANC freedom fighting by Zimbabwe .

Patchesagain: You do NOT need CRAM munitions to shoot down a 150 km/hr Toyota car speed guided bomb....you dummy ! A guided bomb is NOT tiny, it's not a hand grenade, your Umbani guided bomb is as big as a flying Drone-UAV ! Roland and Shilka Radar will detect Umbani guided bomb and weapons will be radar guided to destroy ALL your bombs, that is war reality proved by Argentina against Britain, Roland detected and destroyed bombs that were much smaller than your big Umbani guided bomb that is loaded with extra size guidance kits and so easy to find ! You Southie guys are just p.issed off into panic mode because Nigerians are busting your bubble by neutralizing all your so called long range weapons in a very logical and scientific manner.....you don't know how hard it is to defeat Nigeria in war? Unless you are a world power like Britain, you stand no chance ! . |

agaugust: OK, I cross out the trash to get to the core issues in your long rambling overly emotional and highly childish post. Lets debunk this drivel once and for all - targeting altitude. The AN/AAQ-28(V) LITENING targeting pod which we use is also used on B52 Stratofortresses that operate at... you guessed it... 50 000 ft. Conclusion: Your equipment can be targetted from complete safety of your air-defence network. - Bombs fall at 150kph. False. According to this manual, bombs fall at speeds up to (dependant on weight and speed of the plane that drops it) 550 to 650 m.p.h or, 1029.98 km/h http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1940/1940%20-%202755.html - SANDF SAM. We have the starstreak, which is the perfect VSHORAD system and the best MANPAD in the world. This is supplimented by a brand new advanced CRAM system with AHEAD ammunition. Your antiquated platforms arent even in the same century as ours. - Show us the source for these claims about a single roland shooting down bombs and defending an airbase - You claims that you can defend against the SANDF with your current air defence platforms. Nope, ancient SPAAG without radars, obsolete Rolands and pathetic little electro optically driven guns (o wow, reflex sights, so impressive) have no way of defending against modern air-attack from stand off munitions. Just like Iraq, just like Libya and just like Syria, who all had better air-defence systems than you Game over, thanks for playing. |
