Its not about worse its about facing reality, Nigeria government told you the economy of Nigeria is bigger than those of Egypt and South Africa and you believe because your a Nigerian.

Sorry it doesn't work like, Nigeria doesn't have economy to start with, the economy of eating with 5 meats when the price of oil is up and drinking garri without groundnut and sugar when the rice goes downsouth is not economy.

I don't believe economy of Nigeria is bigger than those of the listed countries above, I have analyzed their economy critically so I know Nigeria government is still daydreaming.

Osun is richer and better than entire East you can take that to the banks and know if you can get paid with the assertion.

Face reality, time for tribalism is over cus shiit doesn't pay.
what you typed self doesn't have meaning...

Thank you. Thank you! You hardly take your eyes away from the bigger picture. I couldn't even have given him such an apt reply like you did. Thanks.

Nationalism and tribalism are world's apart.

You are letting the 10 few rich men you see in cities, block the plight of hundreds more of poor people who live right around them...... I go to Kano and I see poor & destitute people everywhere...And you are here yarning balls.

the ratios will be a function of the population of each state.

In absolute figures, a state A might have richer people than state B, but in ratios it might be lesser, which makes state B better and more desirable than state A.

This supports why Igbos move to the SW to do business. They need customers that'd buy their products.

Theyre in all SW states with their 4X4 shops.
Its no longer 2×2 but 4×4 shops? lol cheesy

Well, that shows the economic importance of the said Igbos cos they are a live wire. They need customers just like customers need them even more.

Pls let Igbos be, you won't die if you spend a day without being irritatingly tribalistic

. The list is about the individual standards of living, not the wealth of the state. For example,Akwa Ibom is wealthy, but there's lots of poverty there. Osun has no oil,but there's less poverty.
Abeg park well, I'm from osun and leave among the people here in the state, the level of poverty here is so high that only God can answer to it. What contributed most to this is the way the citizens swallow whatever the governor tells them hook, line and sinker. Imagin that iiidiot saying osun is riccher than the whole of south east. Anyways, Osun is richer than south east on paper but far far poorer than Zamfara state in reality.

Ekiti and Osun are one of the cheapest states to live in Nigeria.

Can you compare the food prices in Ekiti and Osun to Anambra?
Can you compare property prices Ekiti and Osun to Anambra?

With a half as million you will live comfortably in Ekiti and Osun .

On a serious note there's no way osun state should have lower poverty rate than anambra.

I will love to know why or on what basis osun is rated higher than Anambra state

Can you compere food prices.
Can you compere property prices.

some comments posted by some chest beaters here is fuxking irritating.

we keep. telling those Iboe chest beaters that they brag alot.

now see what strangers are telling us about the poverty index rate. cool

what I notice on nairaland is that :
the Iboe claims to have the best neighbourhood in Africa.

they develop all the major cities of the world.

they are the most educated.

they even go to the length of uploading there various villages pictures thinking that there father's farm is the biggest. cheesy

they are the richest online.

but reality keeps proving them wrong.

Am I that powerful enough to hold them? We're discussing why SW is richer than the SE. If the SE was that rich, most of your investment and business would be situated in the East.

Forbes businesses aren't situated in African countries for that same reason.

I'll even rate Ondo ahead of Osun. The number of towns and their sizes in Ondo are far more than what is found in Osun. The amount of non indigenes and their businesses in Ondo are more than what can be found in Osun. Ondo is known for bananas and cassava and its derivatives and I can wages that it produces more cocoa than Osun so how can Osun be high above it? I doubt the authenticity of this report.

And who told you that majority of all those cocoa producer were not from Osun? Do you know anything about repatriation of income? Also, you can go to Edo to prove this further.

well, this report basically corroborate similar poverty index reports from world bank and national bureau of statistics.
SW has the lowest poverty rate while NW has the highest, although facts and figures vary.
The various methodologies used in carrying out this reports are always controversial.
white people view poverty from a different angle, they define poverty as a person living on less than two dollars per day and lay emphasis on access to clean water, basic sanitation, quality education and healthcare, infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate, life expectancy etc
Nigerians view poverty differently and believes poverty eradication has more to do with acquisition of material wealth such as mansions, luxurious cars, private jets; viability of commercial activities; presence of big supermarkets, shopping malls; individuals' purchasing power etc.
This will naturally cause a disagreement among us anytime this reports are released.
However, methodologies follow basic scientific principles which includes universality, reproducibility, testable and tentative.
If your poverty methodology is acceptable in Nigeria but rejected in Japan, then its not scientific and cannot be used to assess poverty.
Until we are a able to produce a universally acceptable methodology on poverty rate, we will continue to abide with theirs'.

Thanks for this observation. Is it not amazing that the four Igbo states: Anambra, Enugu, Imo and Abia that came back after the Civil war to meet the rubble that was their territory, hunger, poverty, abandoned property etc are all way better than the national average? And those who didn't experience any such set-back are glorying that they are slightly better than Anambra?

Instead of weeping over this assessment, I think the Igbos should take it as a tribute to their enterprise and industry. Who knows? In 5years time, they could be the first five nationwide
i tell u my bro, IGBOs are amazing people. I believe God nva forsake us,,we will forever be strong

Following your logic, you have simply re-emphasized that Igbo businesses in the SW is the mainstay of the (especially) lagos economy, because the economic value of those businesses constitute a major reason why the SW is 'rich'. wink
