...***...
Kolade thought about going to see Jennifer in her noisy neighbourhood, then picked up his phone and dialled her number.
"Hello."
"Hello."
"What's up? Are you home?"
"Kola. How you dey?"
"I'm fine. Do you have any plans for today?" Kolade asked impatiently.
"You want to take me out? Yes, I'm at home. When are you coming?"
"Now."
"Hold on na. Twenty minutes." Jennifer hastily prepared.
He smiled. He had sent some money into Wunmi's bank account yesterday and had waited for a text or call from her, but none had come. Maybe she was over him. Maybe she was getting attached to Vincent. He didn't care. Jennifer was available.
...
Wunmi had received a transaction alert on her phone, telling her Kolade had sent some money into her bank account. He had sent it yesterday. Thursday. Maybe his Jennifer had dissapointed him and he wants me back. I won't call or text him, I'll just go over to his house later in the afternoon. She thought to herself.
...
Kolade: babe, i can't com again.
Jennifer: why na?
Kolade: my car developed a fault.Com over. I'll pay your fare.
Jennifer: i'll come arnd 12.
Kolade: i'll be waiting.
...
Kolade left his room and went downstairs into the living room to sit beside his brother. Kayode was always in front of the tv. He hurriedly stretched his lithe body on the three-sitter directly facing the tv so Kolade wouldn't sit beside him.
"What's that for?" Kolade asked.
Kayode shrugged in reply.
"Guy, you no get babe? You go just tanda for front of tv like say tomorrow no dey. Make I give u one girl?" Kolade asked again.

That did it. Kayode, the 'couch-potato' stood up from the sofa and left for his room. He had always been the shy twin, the one who had always hid behind his mum, especially in public, when he was younger. Kolade had been the exact opposite. He conveniently sat on the couch his younger twin just vacated and tuned in to his favorite channel. A few seconds later, he heard the doorbell ring. He walked to the door and ..guess who it was?
.
.
Wunmi was standing on the other side of the door smiling.
Surprisingly, Kolade smiled back. Wunmi took a step forward, then backward. Kolade went to her and hugged her. They hugged for a while and then stepped into the living room.
"I miss you."
"I miss you more." Wunmi replied, still smiling.
"What have you been up to?" Kolade asked as he gestured for Wunmi to take a seat. He sat on another sofa as if he was shy of her.
"I saw the money. Thank you." Wunmi said, ignoring his question.
Kolade walked over to sit beside her. She was acting shy all of a sudden. "Why are you acting shy?I'm not going to eat you. Unless you want me to." he asked.
"Shy?" she kissed him immediately.
"Yeeah.. My baby is back." he bellowed, bending his elbows and clenching his fist, as if there was a third person in the room. "Tell me how you have been without me."
"I've been chiling. You think I'd be sober?" she lied.
"Not that. How's Vincent?" Kolade couldn't hide his curiosity.

...***...
After Jesse left Tutu's house that morning, he went straight home to have a long talk with himself. While he was in a relationship with Tejumola, she had cheated on him with Obasanjo. Obasanjo was his friend. He had caught them in the act and had gone home. Teju had come home to him in tears and had insistently begged for his forgiveness. He hadn't budged and he thought he had loved her. He regretted not forgiving her. He was so attached to her that he missed her.

"Nothing you do will ever make me forgive you. It is very over between us Teju." he had said as he pushed her out of his house.
He never bothered to read her apology messages or take her calls. She had moved on. He heard. He had even seen her heavily pregnant. It had been over three years ago and he had been in and out of flings. He didn't want to lose Tutu the way he lost Teju. He would forgive her and probably get married to her. He stood up from his sofa and went out his house. He had something to do. Something very important..

...***...
Wunmi hadn't bothered to reply the two voice notes Vincent had sent her. She texted him.

"hey dearie. I got the vn's. Kinda busy.ttyl"

"ok" he replied.

She turned up to watch Kolade dancing for her and asking her to join. The doorbell was ringing.
"Baby, get the door." Kolade said, breathlessly. If he had known who was at the door, he wouldn't have asked Wunmi to.

HI PEOPLE!!!.. Before the end of 'The Perfect Wedding' let me introduce you to my next Story....

*** drumrolll***
'JEMIMA'

SEE THE PREVIEW..

...***...
“How was Lois today? I hope she didn’t bully anyone.” Christine was smiling as if she had done something mischievous. “What have you done again?”
“Nothing. I saw somebody.” Christine replied in a high-pitched voice.
“Ohhh.. I know. Mike.” Jemima offered. “Thank God he has finally put you out--“
“Sssh! don’t say that name around me again.” Christine’s grin disappeared for a second then reappeared. “I saw someone better. A handsome young and tall man. The proprietors’ son and he’s single.”
Jemima was shaking her head out of pity for her friend.
“Don’t pity me. Stop giving me that look. You found someone before me even though you are younger than me doesn’t mean I can’t find one. I’m not an old maid.

...***...
Made kept driving, no destination in mind. He was reminiscing on the perfect times he had had with Tolani.
The perfect months and years that had gone by until the last twenty minutes.
The first year of their marriage was one of the best moments in his life; he had never imagined he would have this nightmare in their time together. He had hoped he would have a daughter who looked exactly like Tolani then 2 years after, they would have a set of male twins. He smiled at the memory.
...

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY

Wunmi hadn't bothered to reply the two voice notes Vincent had sent her. She texted him.
"hey dearie. I got the vn's. Kinda busy.ttyl"
"ok" he replied.
She turned up to watch Kolade dancing for her and asking her to join. The doorbell was ringing.
"Baby, get the door." Kolade said, breathlessly. If he had known who was at the door, he wouldn't have asked Wunmi to.
Wunmi walked to the door and opened to Jeniffer.
"hi.. You are Wunmi. Right?" Jeniffer smiled.
"Yes, who are you?" Wunmi didn't smile. She knew who Jennifer was but wanted her to introduce herself. Kolade was in the background, shocked at the 'movie' playing in front of him
"I'm Jeniffer."
"Jeniffer. So?" Wunmi was still standing in the doorway blocking her entrance.
"I'm his girl-friend. Won't you let me in?" She was beginning to notice Wunmi wasn't a very nice person. She almost pushed her way in, but Wunmi, with the size of her, pushed Jeniffer right back. Wunmi looked fragile because she wasn't really as tall as Jeniffer, but she was stronger than Jeniffer.

"Who's girl-friend?" Wunmi was pissed. "Kolade! Come here. Who's she?"

"Hey, Jeniffer what's up?" Kolade pretended as if he just knew Jeniffer had come.

"Spare me the bullshit! Who's she?" Jennifer asked, pointing to Wunmi.

Wunmi clapped her hands in disgust. She closed the door behind the three of them and stood between Jeniffer and Kolade, turning to Kolade. "What did you tell her I am?"
"Jeniffer, I told you she's my bestfriend." Kolade was avoiding Wunmi.

"I didn't forget, but why is she-"

"Kolade, I am your best friend?" Wunmi interrupted.

"Wunmi, Jeniffer's just a friend."

"Just a friend? So you sleep with your female friends?"

Jeniffer, who knew she was losing didn't want to let go just yet. She had to sow a few bad seeds. "I wonder what you do with your best friend."
"You don't need to wonder, dear. I will tell you. We have been dating for over 1year." Wunmi exaggerated. "We've known each other from school, our friends know each other, our parents know each other, we make love at least twice a week, we love each other most of the time, but then, we have rifts and when we do, you know he's a guy na, and he needs to empty himself, so he looks for any available potty. Pottys are everywhere. He just needs to find one that needs 'shit' then tell her all sorts of stuff like; I love you, I don't have a girlfriend or she's my bestfriend. Then when things get better between us, he leaves that potty. You are one of such pottys."

Jennifer laughed a shaky laugh. "What do you think you are? The toilet?" she was sweating profusely. She had started raising her voice. She knew she was losing.

"Yes. That's what I am. The toilet at home. You'll always be comfortable on them. Pottys are just 'temps'. Jeniffer ! bye. You see he was sweating when he came here. We were busy." Wunmi turned to Kolade "Baby, send her out and lock the gate. I have something for you." With that said, Wunmi went back in and locked the door.
Wunmi was the kind of person who would always look cool in hail, storm, earthquake, and rain. She didn't let Jennifer get to her. She always had a stoic expression on.

Some minutes later, Kolade was knocking on the door of his house for Wunmi to open.
Wunmi opened to him. "You stood there while I humiliated myself, called myself nasty names and you didn't even try to stop it?" Wunmi demanded.
"Baby, you were winning. I liked that, I didn't want to spoil the fun."
"Stop being an idiot. You had sex with her."
"Only once."
"I wasn't asking. I was saying. What is your problem Kolade? What do you want from other girls that I don't give you?"
"You see? That's it. You are nagging again. It's what I don't like."
"I am asking you a simple question and by the way, you are the one who's nagging."
"I don't want to talk about this. Not right now."
"Why not? You are always running away from confrontations. It’s now or never."
"Never, then."
"What?"
"You heard me."
"Kolade, are you serious. What do you now expect me to do. I came all the way from my house to settle things with you and you-"
"It's settled already."
"I'm going to stop coming to your house."
"Why?"
"You always have the upper hand here."
Kolade shrugged.

(Dear readers, Don't you just believe Wunmi is an idiot?)

...***...
Teju was alone at home. She sat in front of her big TV eating a third cup of vanilla ice-cream. She was getting very tired of the pregnancy. She was tired of sharing her body with the baby. She wanted her body back. Her skin felt as if it was expanding to its limit.

"God, let this thing just drop. I'm tired." she was crying again. Her emotions were in over-drive. When she was angry, she was extremely angry, when she was mad, no one could be madder, when she was sad, there was always a gloomy atmosphere surrounding her. She grabbed her phone and dialled her husband's number.

"Oba, I'm tired of this thing."she said through tears. "Can't we just get the doctor to take it out."
"I'm tired too of your constant complaints!" Obasanjo snapped. "Why do you always call to complain? Are you not a woman. Whenever I see your name on my caller I.D, I know you want to complain. I go through a lot at work here too. I am very busy now."

Teju started weeping noisily. She ended the call. Obasanjo called right back.
"Hey...Teju, I'm sorry. It's not easy on me here too. I miss how you used to be. When I come home, I have to clean up after you and you know how I feel about domsetic helps. I'm really stressed. Honey? Are you there? You don't make things easy on me? At night, it's another problem. You don't let me touch you anymore. I feel unloved. I'm tired too. I promise you this will be the only baby. Are you there? Honey talk to me. Teju? Teju?
"Come home now."
"Home? There's a lot to be done here."
"Are you not the director? I want you home now."
"I'll be home in about 2 hours. Say 11:30."
"It's Friday. I want you here now. I'm scared."
"Scared of?"
"Just come home." she threatened to cry.
"Ok. I'm leaving."..

...***...
"Trying to be sexy?"
Teju gasped. Who had entered her house at this time of the morning? She had changed into a very sexy lingerie even with her protruded belly, awaiting Obasanjo's arrival, and an unexpected guest had entered her house. Her freak-o-meter bypassed meltdqown. Obasanjo had always warned her about locking the doors, but the warnings had fallen on deaf ears.
"Turn around. Yes. It's me." the voice was teasing her.
Teju was shaking when she saw him."I'm imagining things. You are dead." she slumped.
A few minutes later, when she came to, she looked up to the face staring down at her.

"What are you doing here?"
"I don't have the answer to that question. Although I have many questions for you."
Teju raised her hand to touch his face. "You are real."
"Yes." he replied holding her hand to his face. "Did you ever love me? I want the truth from you and nothing more."
She started shaking her head.
"No. No... I'm so sorry." Teju began to cry. She was scared. "Please, don't hurt me. I'm pregnant. I have a husband. Please, don't kill me. I'm sorry. "

He looked mad and angry. Then he relaxed and continued.
"I won't. I promise. Just answer my questions."
"Ok." she sniffed.
"Why did you abort the pregnancy? I mean, kill my baby."
"I was never pregnant for you. I'm sorry." She wailed.

He was getting madder. He gripped her shoulders roughly and realized he was really hurting her, then he released his hold on her.
"Why did you tell me you were?" he asked weakly.
She didn't answer.
"Answer me!!" he shouted.
"It was the money." she answered shakily. "It was all about the money and you never had time for me." Teju complained, matter-of-factly.
"I know that I was never there, but I loved you. I just didn't know how to show you."
Silence...
"I see you've moved on."he glanced around looking at the wedding pictures on the walls. "Obasanjo is better at this stuff than me. I know."

"You pushed him to me. When you were out of town, you always asked him to look out for me. That's how it started. He's always been good to me. Jide, I'm very sorry. I always wanted your attention, but you never gave it to me. You were always busy, and he was always available."

"Thank you for telling me. I don't want to make the same mistakes with Tutu."

"Who's Tutu? What happened to you. I heard you died. There was even a funeral. I didn't feel I deserved to be there."

From what she said, Jesse was convinced Teju didn't know what her husband had done. He was sure she didn't know her husband had planned Jesse's murder. "I didn't die. It was all a plan. I wanted to know if you would come. When I didn't see you, I was convinced you didn't love me."

"I respect you. I like you very much, but Obasanjo's my 'one'."

Jesse smiled. "It's cool. It's not like I want you back. I love Tutu."

Teju smiled sadly. He smiled back, in the same manner. They were warming up to each other.
Jesse had learned to have a quick forgiving spirit. He held her hand. "I see why I liked you at first. You are pleasant, good-tempered. Endearing. I'd like you to meet my 'one'. Tutu."

"I'd talk to mine about it first."

"You better change into something decent. I don't want your husband thinking I impregnated you." he laughed.

Teju rushed to her room. Feeling relieved. She came back a few minutes later looking decent.

Jesse was staring at pictures on the walls.

Just then, Obasanjo walked in.
"Teju? Do you see him?" Obasanjo asked his wife. Jesse was staring at him smiling.

"Honey, that's Jide. He's not a ghost." Teju explained helpfully.
