Really touching story...but this wouldn't stop some couples with incompatible genotypes from falling in'love' and produce more of Hammed Ajiboyes from coming into this world to suffer..

I even know medical doctor couples with children with sickle cell disease despite enormous information at their disposal !

That is Love at work..Yes they knew what they where going into and they decided to still go into it..Love Supersede everything..Though i dont support it,But we are all Humans and not perfect..It could be you,It could be Me..

Do you have any unused items no matter the shape and state of the items??

You can sell these items for a pretty well good price..
There's a platform I shall tell you that will advertise your unused items, and in no time you will begin to receive calls from interested buyers.
You would be wondering; what kind of unused items can i sell on that platform right?
Here's what you could sell on that platform. You can sell your old or second hand fridge, gas cooker, phones, inverters, solar accessories, TV, DVD, PC, laptop, dstv decoder, bicycle, watches, headphones, computer accessories, bikes, bike spare parts, cars, car spare parts. Just anything you can think of that has a tint of value left in them.
Here's the crux of the matter; Statics have shown that there are some people out there, desperately in need of these item of yours..
To get a deep insight on how and the place to sell these items of yours, please you may visit HERE

The writer of this beautiful piece died today of sickle cell anaemia. He was trending on twitter.

The sad thing in this message is that there are millions of peope who can relate to his pain, people who have people around them but can't even talk because nobody understands.

I just need everyone reading this to know that no matter what you're going through today, you're not alone. Never allow the world's challenges stop you from achieving your dreams. Hammed was on his way to his until death claimed him. Let his story be an inspiration to us all.

#RIPHammed

Hmmm,is like you wrote this letter to me. It is well.

I agree that love supersede but I love with my heart and guide it with my brain.

I weigh every consequences of my actions both short and long term.

With level of my enlightenment on sickle cell disease and anemia, it wouldn't happen to me...

Moreover, I love by choice and not by accident !

To be sincere , i don't think anyone should be dying of Sickle cell now. Almost Every week at The Lords Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, i see Men, women,Students,Children diagnosed with SS Being turned to AA.

Nigerians, irrespective of your Denominations or religion, wen you faced by Situations or Circumstances , don't die in Silence. God gave Chosen to Nigerians as a Gift. Take a bold step and Visit the place. Your Healing is Guaranteed.
Its pains me when i see my brothers /sisters dying for things i see God do all the time in chosen.

I have lost three beautiful and wonderful friends to this disease that Almighty God JEHOVAH will remove permanently from humankind sooner than we think.

[size=18pt]
First Sickle Cell Patient Undergoes Gene Therapy

“We are treating a sickle cell patient for the first time with gene therapy”

“Sickle cell disease is a devastating disease that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the US and Europe and millions around the world. The therapeutic options for patients with sickle cell disease are currently limited, so the opportunity to bring a one-time, potentially curative treatment to these patients by modification of autologous hematopoietic stem cells would represent a great advance for patients with sickle cell disease and for the field.”

David Davidson, MD, bluebird bio’s Chief Medical Officer added:

“Sickle cell disease shortens life expectancy by decades even in developed countries, so it is exciting to contemplate that LentiGlobin may offer the curative potential of allogeneic stem cell transplantation by using a patient’s own cells.”

“In June 2014, we reported preliminary results from the HGB-205 Study demonstrating that treatment with LentiGlobin drug product led to high-level production of beta-T87Q-globin and rapid transfusion independence in two beta-thalassemia major patients. Given the anti-sickling property of the amino acid substitution engineered into beta-T87Q-globin, we are optimistic about the potential for LentiGlobin to mitigate the signs and symptoms of sickle cell disease. We anticipate providing initial clinical data on LentiGlobin in sickle cell disease patients in 2015.”
HGB-205 Study (Paris, France)

This phase 1/2 study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of LentiGlobin BB305 drug product in the treatment of subjects with beta-thalassemia major and severe sickle cell disease. The study is designed to enroll up to 7 subjects.
For more information on the HGB-205 Study, please visit www.clinicaltrials.gov using identifier NCT02151526.
HGB-206 Study (Charleston, South Carolina)

This phase 1 study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of LentiGlobin BB305 drug product in the treatment of subjects with severe sickle cell disease. The study is designed to enroll up to 8 subjects.

For more information on the HGB-206 Study, please visit www.clinicaltrials.gov using identifier NCT02140554.
About sickle cell disease

Sickle cell disease is a rare genetic blood disorder resulting from a mutation in the beta globin gene that causes polymerization of hemoglobin proteins and abnormal red blood cell function. Sickle cell disease affects 90,000 to 100,000 Americans, mostly African Americans. A person with sickle cell disease has red blood cells that are hard, sticky, and C-shaped (like the farm tool the "sickle"wink. These cells clog smaller blood vessels resulting in pain as well as increased risk for infection, acute chest syndrome and stroke.
