It can be used. But there are several factors that your health care provider considers like degree of tooth movement required, cost effectiveness, health of surrounding teeth and structures etc etc etc.
its the person seeing your mouth that can decide.

Re: Meet A Dentist by Nobody: 9:41pm On Jul 06, 2015
Hello, am writing this with a saddened heart, am a young guy at the early stage of my life and a student to be precise. am faced with a social death disease(halitosis) I have been battling this for about 6 years now but all to no avail.
here are some of my ordeals;
just about 4years ago(just finish my secondary education then), i met a dentist, was advised on washing, in which i did it but seems the condition remain the same. i was advised on regular wash every 6 month but couldn't met the condition due to cost #5000/wash. Little did i know that this is just the beginning of my social arrest.
in about two years ago 2014, i visited one of the government dental hospital @ Ibadan(Oyo state), was placed on dental routine, tongue scrapping mouthwash, sugarless gum Among many option. I tried all this round but seems none work for me. A year ago visited another private hospital @ Ibadan was asked to pay for #3,000.00 card fee, what a gorgeous amount in the mind of low income student but i manage to pay it (borrowed) for the sake of my social freedom. to my great surprise they only recommend most of mouthwash and mouth spray i have once used before. what a disappointment, it seems they let me down even with their huge card fee.
I have no option other than to take to online solution to my problem it's then that i now discover that my problems lies on group of bacteria that reside @ the back of the tongue that produce bad smelling chemicals (sulphide) through online consultation from THERABREATH.COM . a renowned US based dental organisation. I was recommended their product (therabreath mouthwash) and their toothpaste which is fluoride free. Now the problem lies in getting the mouthwash which is (#42,000) equivalent in naira with shipping cost. No doubt it would work for me due to a lot of people's testimonies.
Right now am on hydrogen peroxide, which do not only suppress for FEW hours(2) but with a known side effect( corrotion and lung irritation). as i write now i don't even know what next as a solution to my problem.
i'm excluded from social gathering, don't have money to do the necessary, in fact this has become an every seconds of my thinking.
IF YOU ARE A DENTIST READING THIS SAVE SOMEONE SOUL, I DON'T MIND BEEN OFFERED A FREE SERVICE/ SERVICE @ GREAT DISCOUNT. OR IF YOU ARE A PHILANTHROPIST SAVE MY SOUL, CASH OR DRUG DONATION WOULD BE WELCOME.
I pray Almighty Gods makes you not witness this social killing disease. Amen
ADVISE IS WELCOMED and my number is 09031821353. God bless you as you.

Re: Meet A Dentist by esperiense(m): 11:11am On Jul 30, 2015
The are 1001 reasons your palate could be scratching you. You need a medical checkup to know the cause which the treatment will then be targeted at. any other thig is just garbage

MY TOOTH PAIN HAS GONE
Date of issuance: 2015-05-06

I got in to this company through my experience with the company products. I used to suffer from severe tooth pain and decay. The pain was terrible and extremely discomforting. I took different medications from different hospitals and from dentists but all I got were pain relief medications. They just reduced the pain for a little
while and came right back again.

I was asked to remove the affected tooth and I was just deciding to remove them when my husband came home one day with a tooth paste. It was fohow tooth paste. At first, I felt like, “how will just a tooth paste solve this problem”. But, after using it, I got an
amazing result. After some time, I began to hear cracking sounds in my mouth, and I realized that my gums were healed, the holes in my tooth were closing, and I began to feel good.

Good day sir. Sorry for this long write-up, but I have to clear some issues about my teeth and gum. I found out that I have this hole behind my last tooth (wisdom tooth I guess) for quite some time now, i've tried taking some antibiotics and even used hydrogen peroxide to floss but it seems it only reduces the pain but not totally healing up the place and the blood that comes out from that hole smells badly and ends up making my mouth to have this foul smell. The issues now is that I did some research online and it all pointed that the tooth close to the infected gum has to be removed, but an very scared to have my tooth removed so for this I refused seeing a dentist. I don't know if there is any other way out, somebody suggested that I use warm water and alum to wash my mouth but don't know how effective it will be, please what do you suggest. Thanks in advance for your reply.

It's done in Naija bro. U either need a crown or veneer.
Cost depends on location and varies from clinic to clinic

Antibiotics don't relief pain, analgesics do. But when antibiotics solves the problem the pain too should go. I hope u can understand my point here.
A persistent lump shouldn't be taken lightly. See a reliable professional to examine it and know the cause.

An obvious hole/cavitation in the tooth is biological irreversible with any medication, but can be restored with dental materials. If the hole is in the gum, it can reverses itself when the provoking stimulus ceases. So u will need to identify d stimulus or let your dentist do so dt u can reverse it. When dis is done the odor too will cease provided that's d cause as u claimed

Thanks for your reply sir. I've being using the alum and it seems to be very effective, the hole seems to be closing up gradually. I will try this out for some time and if no positive response I will do as u say. Thanks sir.

It "might not" be a bad idea if it hinders the retention or whatsoever.
