Yet 2 comments above, you called them slaves without provocation. If they react, no one will see the instigation. #saynototribalism

I love the wine carrying part. Different people calling the bride even old grandpa's. It's very cute
I love your maturity. Thanks The culture is truly nice.

that is a big fat lie. do you even know what 2 million is?. Any guy that will spend 2 million on a girl he is marrying is just doing that to show his affluence and riches and not because the parents demanded it. Is he buying a duplex or a car or is it not the normal yams, clothes and stuffs on the list. And also don't use your friend and room mate's experience that is if it is true as a yardstick too.

How much is the most expensive wrapper you kow of?

Guy, put a stop to your tales by moonlight abeg. shocked Ashebi is NOT part of Igbo tradition. It is a modern fad which sprang up about a decade ago. They copied it from the South-West, who have a long history of wearing aso-ebi. You chaps should stop concocting fake stories, biko nu. undecided

what Is Ashabis? undecided
Or Aso-Ebi? adopted from the Grate Yoruba's cool

Friends/ age-mates of the bride who accompany her on her first outing to greet the inlaws usually wear matching attires and hairstyles.
This concept was never called asoebi or ashebi or anything of the sort, however matching outfits worn by friends of the bride is not new to Igbo culture.

We call the young ladies accompanying the bride Umu Ada. It's been that way for ages. I think the OP should change the 'ashabi' in his article, to Umu Ada.

Borrowed from Yoruba Gele, Borrowed from Edo outfit, Borrowed from Yoruba Aso- oke, Borrowed from Yoruba Aso Ebi. How is this igbo "traditional attire". Also Yorubas bow like ancient Chinese and Japanese civilized culture to show honor, what some cultureless outfit borrowers who are obsessed can't fathom. Where is the actual igbo native outfit? Does it exist?
