Bro, these your questions em e get as e be o. You never even get admission but you dey ask whether chances dey to travel to US or UK as a tourist. Are you sure you're not looking to come to Italy just as a portal of entry to those countries? Nonetheless, I believe it is possible to travel to those countries from anywhere. It's left for the immigration officer whether or not they see you fit for a tourist.

And yes, it's possible to work in Italy during the holidays. What's Polito cutoff CGPA ? Polimi is very keen on marks you've gained in the previous degrees.
Soyedele1:

Im in Engineering related field. Let ne give you an example. I applied to polito last year (mechanical engineering). The ielts required was 5.5 or a letter from my school that I was taught with English language which I got. I wasn't offered admission and when I contacted polito, they sau they didn't see the sentence "You were taught in English Language".

I also applied to free uni in Bozen and my application was accepted. Later I was told that they need a valid language certificate that the one I submitted is not acceptable.

This made me decide to write ielts just to boost my chances of admission though I have a friend that got admission without ielts.

Im eyeing polito for mechanical, unibo, padova, brescia n others for environmental engineering.

As for polonium, they require 3/5 cgpa as d minimum but I'm slightly below 3.00 cgpa.

I have questions for you

Which school are you in italy?
As a legal student in italy, is it possible to work in other countries in europe during the holiday?
Can a student travel to UK OR USA for maybe as a tourist without having home ties to italy except being a legal student there?

Thanks a lot .

Lol. Yes I will surely cross over but it will be after my studies.

US visa is 31200 from Nigeria. I will prefer taking that risk from Nigeria than spending all those money to Italy just to cross over. If I'm not serious about. Italy, I won't be writing ielts. I'm a genuine applicant.

Polito doesn't av a specific CGPA but polimi is a minimum of 3.0. They said they won't even consider my application if I have less than 3.00. So polimi is out of it for now.

Reason I asked about employment is that I need to know how to survive cos I am on a budget.

OH OK. Thank you for being honest. There are jobs anywhere, no matter how tight the economy may seem to be. I'm someone who believes there is always something out there for everyone. Although, you'll hear the opposite from many people about jobs being few in Italy because of the recent economy crisis and that the Italian language does ease the process.

It depends on the school you're planning to go.

Alot. Have you seen someone accepted with HND?

Well, I will be the one applying to the schools on his behalf, hence the reason I asked

Thanks

I don't know but what I know is that the entrance requirements of each school differs...

E.g I thought all schools in Australia require TOEFL or ielts until Griffith university rep told me otherwise cool

You're right. Entrance requirements does vary from one school to the other. However, prerequites for masters studies are not be compared with language requirements. From other schengen visa applicants that I've seen. HND was not considered eligible for masters studies. Again, check with the concerned school.

If I'm right, FDA is in Firenze(Florence). A close relative studied Fashion about 3 years ago, part time/ student job is rare to come by, though it is not outrightly impossible.

Florence is a nice place to study, if you have the money.
I wish you the best bro.

It might be difficult to get part time job, but not impossible to get ones that will augment your pocket money. I don't know much about DOV but I am sure you may not need at the time of applying for visa, if you are to study in private institute like FDA; but you may need it later on, if you plan to get full time job with your academic credential or if you wish to stay and process permanent resident status in Italy.
Members of this thread who have practical experience will shed more light to this.

I wish you the best.
