Comrade, how are you doing?
I have been missing in action.
I have been banned till my moniker almost changed from Noblezone to Nobleban.

What kind of budget is this?
It is a budget of CHANGE!

By the time this narrow minded old man has finished with Nigeria, they will know that the word, CHANGE is not always sweet.

Truth is that there is a cabal that always stay put around the seat o power with sole intent of profiting from Nigeria. If Buhari knows what is good for him(which I think he does) he should look into these issues.

My fear is that the legislooters which is our only hope to correct the anomalies in this budget won't bat an eye since this budget highly favours their personal purses.

Remain the same? How?

Domestic Budget for Aso Villa has Changed from 580 M to 1.7 B. That's about 100% change.

And they are blaming the past administration for looting the treasury dry. Now, there is no money to implement, the budget of "CHANGE".

Greetings Comrade.
That is abt 300% of 580m. In otherwords, thers about 200% increase

Firefire:

‘A budget that moves domestic spending in Aso Villa from N580m to N1.7bn cannot be a budget of change’

Abuja – Sen. Eyinnaya Abaribe (PDP Abia South) on Wednesday in Abuja, berated the 2016 budget and called on President Muhammaduu Buhari to withdraw it and go back to the drawing board.

Abaribe while making contributions during the consideration of the budget, said the proposal was faulty on many grounds and could not be implemented at it was.

He said that predication of oil benchmark at 38 dollars per barrel when the crude oil price had fallen below 30 dollars per barrel made the budget unrealistic.

Abaribe faulted the government for increasing spending by 30 per cent based on borrowing.

“Mr President, my colleagues, this budget is indeed unique. After the budget presentation, the finance minister has never come to explain the details of the budget as it is normally done.

“It is a budget of change I agree, but it is a change in the wrong direction. I say it is a change in the wrong direction because it says that it is based on zero budgeting requiring all expenses to be fully justified.

“Mr President, a budget that increases spending up to 30 per cent based solely on borrowing, in what way are we justified? That is the question we want to ask the people who brought this budget.

“We know what is going on in the global economy: this budget is predicated on an oil benchmark of 38 dollars per barrel and I can now say that with oil being 28 dollars today, this budget is dead on arrival.

“The job of the opposition is to help the government to get its priorities right, so I want to please urge this government to withdraw this budget and go back to the drawing board,” he said.

The senator also faulted the adjustments made in the budget as well as allocation for spending in the Aso Rock Villa, saying that it was too exorbitant.

He said that the adjustments rather than reduce spending in areas where they were not necessary only spread it into different offices.

“Mr President, a budget that moves domestic spending within Aso Villa from N580 million to N1.7 billion cannot be a budget of change.

“We were told that in the revised budget there was an adjustment due to error, we agree but what has happened is that up to N7 billion were moved from buying vehicles and spread to offices.

“It also increased the spending that is due to renovations within the Villa.

“They are going to renovate the Villa with N3.9 billion: what else do you want to renovate there that Nigerians will see in the Year 2016?” he asked.

However, in his contribution, Sen. Ahmed Lawan (APC Yobe North) blamed the previous administration for the lack of funds due to the embezzlement witnessed in previous governments.

He said that this was the 17th budget he would be debating as a legislator and noted that not more than 40 per cent implementation was achieved in the last 16 years.

“The proposal before us is the first budget where the executive has deemed it necessary to give ordinary Nigerians genuine hope.

“N500 billion allocated for school feeding and social SAFTEY NET is commendable.

“It is time to say oil should not continue to play dominant role as we have suffered economically and politically: it is time to diversify this economy.

“The direction of the executive is the way to go. `That is, we should make every effort to have the real sector-agric mining and manufacturing.

“The budget deserves the support of everyone, including my colleagues on the other side. When we were in the opposition we supported the PDP, they should support us,” he said.

This is the most crazy thing I have heard

3.9 billion for renovation ...are they building tower of Babel

With that money you can build three brand new towns at the rate of one billion each and a flat will cost a million then 1000 fkats will be a billion and one 1000 flats will house minimum of 4 people which equals to minimum of 40 thousand people ..then I am not putting the domino effectts of this town...the jobs the new opportunities.banks will move in, schools move in churches will move it

This can be replicated In three places

We still have 900 mill

Now how can a sensible person bring out 500 billion for just feeding ...what the hell is wrong with black man

We have people that wants to establish business give them soft loan of 1 mill each ..then monitor their progress you will effectively create minimum of 100 thousand new businesses with domino effectts which they will employ minimum of two people ..you gave succeeded creating new business owners

You don't need to go to havard to know these basic macro economic but you need to have your minimum waec certificate because they teach economics in secondary school

But unfortunately bubu got none of these both waec and havard

We are In for a long thing...well I a
Justified

This budget is a disaster. It is an insult to taxpayers and must be withdrawn immediately. too many crazy sums, too many inflated line items

This budget has line items like 1TB USB Hard disk for 1.8 million Naira. HDD that can be bought for 17k at Ikeja computer village!

hundreds of millions of Naira for cable linkage! Tens of millions of naira for Personal protective equipment (gloves, coveralls, safety glasses) for the handful of inspectors in the Solid minerals ministry! Obscene amount budgeted for personal vehicles, computers and 'computer software'.

What nonsense.

Whether you're pro-APC, pro-Buhari, pro-PDP, anti-Buhari, all must rise to condemn the wasteful spending in a budget that is meant to be leaned down for the austerity era we find ourselves.

Lol@change

This is the most fraudulent budget proposal in Nigerian History.

This budget proposal is based on pure VOODOO ECONOMICS.
I wonder where they teach that type of economics.

Oil is at $27 a barrel, and you are basing your budget on $38 a barrel?
What gives?
Which fxxxing retar.ds came up with this brilliant idea ? shocked

Even Saudi Arabia, based their recent budget on $20 oil.

Secondly, so mr. change, mr. simple now needs a N3.9b upgrade in his office in order to do his job properly ?

So Buhari cannot carry out his duties effectively under the very harsh living conditions at ASO Rock at the moment, this moment of great economic uncertainty?

Bad news my fellow countrymen.
We have been duped big time, again. undecided

This is the most hilariously, but seriously fraudulent budget we have seen in this country.

With a first budget like this, I challenge anyone to debate with me why this may not end up being the most corrupt administration Nigerians are going to have the misfortune of living under.

I challenge anyone to try to justify this PHOTOCOPY, CUT, PASTE and INFLATE voodoo budget proposal.

They promised us to cut cost of governance and even convert presidential fleet to national airlines, they CHANGED the promise. They promised to austerity and lean Govt, yet they increased domestic spendings for above what we used to have in "so called corrupt Govt". They budgetted outrageous amounts for tyres, websites, foods, animals as compared to the past. The then 'Corrupt' Govt was heavily criticized for Oduah's 200m+ cars, yet Govt of CHANGE in its BuDGET OF YAMS will spend hundreds of Millions on tyres.

Can anyone tell us what gas CHANGED? They inflated the BUDGET OF YAMS to loot us dry, don't forget this money will be borrowed and stolen from our banks via new STAMPs

This Govt promised Nigerians 5K/month, 3Mjobs, free meal & Education, social welfare for the old etc instead, they're stealing our N50s, brought mass sack, inflation, civil unrest etc.

Don't be surprised that Almajiris will make up about 80%+ of the so called "poorest". Stealing southerners' money from the bank to feed the northerners.

They are stealing from us, putting us in debts to care for their god (Buhari) and his people. So much for the CHANGE; the more things change, the worse it gets.

If the Govt can't make us richer, it shouldn't make Nigerians poorer.

I see no reason why APC Government should inflate last year budget by 50%despite the sharp drop in crude oil price.

Painfully, they slammed Nigerians with 50 Naira per deposit with immediate effect to shop up more revenue for the government.

Why are Nigerian politicians taking Nigerians for a fooool ? angry

This is pure wickedness.
