Well Smile (FROWN) 4G LTE is guaranteed 100% to make you frown. There is absolutely nothing to make you smile about the Frown (Smile) 4G LTE. I bought the Mi-Fi router on November 1, 2014, for N16,000 and it comes with a 5GB data bundle, notwithstanding my views that the router is over-priced, l still went ahead with the purchase. On the first day of use l consumed 2.2GB data, please bear in mind l started using the router around 8pm, as l needed to fully charge the Mi-Fi before use as instructed. I did a 10 minutes Viber call, checked my email and notifications on Facebook (mind you l don't post pictures on Facebook) and abracadabra 2.2GB consumed. I went on Nairaland and found out that l need to reduce my data speed to conserve my data: but, people whats the point If l have to reduce my speed to 1Mbps to conserve data, most GSM providers offer similar speed, I get up to 1Mbps on my Airtel 3.75G and l need not break the bank to pay for data. Nonetheless, l reduced my speed to 1Mbps and l was still able to consume 7GB of data in 7 days, without streaming videos or video calls, then l called it quit. I just bought a data bundle for my Airtel 3.75G; 4.5GB@N3,500...l went on browsing and streaming spree to see how fast my data will be consumed, watched 30 minutes of video on YouTube...checked my data balance...still have about 4.27GB, meaning l have roughly consumed about 230MB something that is not possible with Frown (Smile) 4G, mind you l have never exhausted my 4.5GB on Airtel in any given month. And Note: there is no difference between my streaming speed on Airtel when compared to Frown (Smile)...the YouTube videos played without lag on Airtel. So people l have packed my bags and back to my first love: AIRTEL...and before anyone claims am doing advert for Airtel, this is my Frown (Smile) account number: 1410004094 so am writing about a true experience. I have complained to their Customer Care; Frown (Smile), no response yet. So, if your in Port-Harcourt and Abuja do not be fooled with their adverts like l was fooled, stay away from Smile, it will only make you FROWN. PS: On Airtel you will occasional get downtime, but, it is far better than Smile

Re: Is Your Smile 4G LTE Data Being Sapped Ridiculously? by bukiboy(m): 2:13pm On Sep 02

Smile is just another #SCAM, i subscribe for 5GB on 20th August and connected only my Samsung Note3. by 25th August i couldn't browse again. i was very mad, went to there office meet a rude girl (Nse) who doesn't know much about data billing but was quoting manual for me.
Another way to detect Smile fraud is to put your mifi modem ON without connecting any device to it, you will shocked that your data will be going. how can Smile bill customers for not using there service.
i will make sure i campaign again them through every means i know.

Am I The Only One Suffering From Smile 4G LTE. by cne010(m): 10:49am On Jul 14

I got my smile 4g mifi with 5gig data then I shared wifi with friends in less than 2 weeks it was gone.

I got the 9k for 10gig data plan changed my password used it only on my iPhone all for few hours didn't download any app or music. Only nairaland and instagram only to check my data and 2gig is gone in 5 hours?

I don't understand how their data depletes anyone here facing the same?

Try to reduce your speed to 2mbps it would last longer.

Smile is very useless, I have a smile router and by december I went to their office at Challenge Ibadan to subscribe only to be told that 10GB cost 9K in this era of competition where everyone is make data plan more pocket-friendly, I had to dumb it and went for Spectranet which cost 15K (router + 20gb) and 7K for 20gb (subsequent subs). Smile is useless, my brother has glo wifi and it cost him 8K for 24Gb + rollover.
