Plz eye witness of what? The shooting or the protest? Whoever gave out this information, should have conveyed what transpired and at what point Did The so called Police did what he did... Nigerians shouldn't hide under the cover of social media and be reporting all sort of stories. If you must write, kindly give full details. Was the so called consultant running or was he hit by stray bullet? In as much as I don't support executive recklessness, we must remember that we all should behave within the lead down laws and conventions.

He was shot point blank in the head by a police man with a teargas canister.

He obtained deep lacerations to the scalp and bled profusely.

He was rushed to the FMC Owerri casualty where he was given emergency treatment.

The protest was peaceful and this was a sudden occurrence.

Below is the alleged picture of the police man who shot him.

Politics can be interesting at times. But it's stories like this that make the social media bill necessary. Any slowpoke can just open a free blog and start disseminating his/her gruesome imaginations as news; and of course the target audience are mainly sentimental buffoons in society who sit idly in their kiosks wishing and praying to hear this kind of stories, so they care less about verification.

So whats good about okorocha? Since he left apga his behaviour is not different from the area boys. He does not care if doctors protest over the deplorable state of hospitals, afterall the hospitals are used by the poor. He used funds mean't to equip the hospital from glorified maternity to semiclinic for election campaigns. His family does not patronize the hospital so wich wan be hi own dere. For telling the mumu police to shoot at sight at the doctors so God will shoot him at sight and there will be No doctor to give him first aid becos that day aeroplane will not work becos aviation staffs will be on strike.

http://www.channelstv.com/2016/02/04/imo-doctors-protest-alleged-hospital-concession-plan/

The NMA made this call during a peaceful protest
in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
They maintained that the association is not
against the concession policy, but the
government needs to follow some laid down
procedures.

However, the protest turned bloody when one of
the doctors was badly injured as a result of
teargas
allegedly fired by the Police to dispatch
the protesters.

Visiting the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri,
where the injured victim was being treated, the
doctor in charge noted that the victim lost so
much blood but responded to treatment.

In reaction to the allegation, the Police in the
state maintained that their men did not shoot at
anyone but was trying to maintain peace when
some hoodlums tried to hijack the protest.

Following this development, the Nigerian Medical
Association in the state vowed to close down all
health facilities until the issue has been resolved.

I knew you would come to defend your check depositor so, like I told you, I was at the rally.
The protest requested for and for approval for the protest. We had police and DSS protection during protest. Two police vans behind and DSS truck in front. The DSS were not spared by the smoke of the tear gas. Look at the picture of the person that shot the canister ; does that look like a hoodlum?

I didnt say it did not happen, I was only criticising where the Op claimed that "Rochas ordered the police to open fire and kill the doctors."

You said you were there when the shit went down, were you also there when Rochas gave the order for the police to shoot to kill (like the Op claimed)?

Teargas is not bullet. The issue here is that Police was doing their job independently and used teargas in attempt to disperse protesters. What is Okorocha's business there?

1. The incident happened in front of Douglas house
2. The Policemen involved is part of the security protocol in front of the government house.
3. A member of the police team came to us and demanded we don't come close to the government house, that the rally should stop before the government house but that was turned down.

Considering the rally was peaceful, with police excort up to the government house before it deteriorated, ask that question again.

You've given the reason. Disobedience to plea not to come closer. The Policeman will go free because he will claim self defence.

[quote author=Realtouchnot post=42616679]The NMA Imo State went on a peaceful march today against the state of Health care system in Imo State. According to the NMA, DSS, police and other relevant security agencies were informed and they gave their go ahead order. The police later received an order from the Governor, who allegedly ordered them to shoot at the protesting the doctors. Some of the doctors received serious injuries. This is one of them, a Consultant, who was rushed to FMC, Owerri.

So you advocate the removal of free speech and freedom of expression. You now uphold your most wonderful Governor the capability to suppress people's right to protest. In case you have CNN, check it for a picture of the front of the White house ; you will see people protesting for one issue or another. No policeman has ever attacked a protester. This is not military rule ;this is democracy. Go to Douglas house every weekday, one group of another is demonstrating, pensioners that are owed more than one year, civil Servants about cuts in salary. I guarantee that tomorrow, another group will be having a rally there.
What was so special about this rally that made it different?

Then again, the Governor has always had a dislike for doctors. He did the same tactics to medical students last year with the same tear gas. I wonder if the policeman also claimed self defense.
The more you try to cover him the more I expose you.

Let me anticipate your next question, " What makes you so sure he was the one that gave the order to disperse the rally?"

Una thinking sometimes dey tire me. Policemen clashed with protesting Doctors and the Governor took a gun and shot a Doctor. Very childish and funny if I may say.

This topic has nothing to do with the Governor but an ego battle between the said Doctor and the said Policeman. Nobody including your enemy will support using any form of force unprovoked.

Thats what should have been the issue. From the pictures shown it seems it was even a single officer involved not like the entire Police squad. The discussion should be about the officer and not Governor.

I think the problems we have in d country emanate from the states, if the states are well managed the country ewill be well managed.

Our governors have failed us in the states. They have become evil emperors thank God the idea of a state police was expunged, cos we could have had concerntration camps in all the 36 states.
