Why lie about it?

When did it becomes an offence for a man to see doctor. Even yourself @ OP. How old are you, When last did you see a doctor?
It's not a sign of him being sick, but a sign that he is proactive about his health.
At Mr. President age, he doesn't need to break down before visiting his doctor.

Buhari has nothing to offer. He just came back to power to play 'catch up' with other former military leaders by amassing more wealth as he only took a little then because his rule was short lived. The brand of Tinubu politics that brought an illiterate coup monger back from oblivion to preside over the affairs of a democratic nation is still a case study among right thinking people at this time. Also Putting the south against the south just for A NORTHERNER TO COME BACK TO POWER is really an interesting phenomenon. We are all watching in HD.

The issue here is not about being sick or seeing a doctor. The issue is why did he have to travel overseas to get the treatment? So he doesn't trust the hospitals in a country he presides over?

If the President needs an alibi to go to hospital, it's a big shame.

Even the strongest of men need medicare once in a while so I do not know what the big deal is about President Buhari going to hospital.

Even young and otherwise healthy men take ill and even die from health challenges talk more of a President who is in his seventies.

The President's media handlers need to be more open with information concerning the president's health to prevent stories like this that seek to sensitise issues and create a scandal.

Nigerians deserve to know what medical condition our President has so we can also pray for God's mercy and healing over him.

when approaching 74 it is normal to have a routine medical checkup.
There's nothing wrong with that.
More strength to your bones sir.

My question is,is there no world class hospital in his hometown daura? He was the head of state in the 80s. Why am I even asking;all of them are the same-selfish! Me,myself, and I syndrome, they don't care about Nigerians.

If your life was on the line and you had the finances and opportunity to get the best medical care would you prefer a lesser mediocre care?

Everyone gets sick at some point.... In as much as I do not fancy PMB for any reason... I think its only natural to get sick after all his age is not on the good side.

But my main issue is when you don't keep your dam words as a president..... This president promised during his election that foreign medical trip is over for political office holders..... Then he made provision of 3.6b for Aso clinic yet nearly a year after taking office.. He jumped the bandwagon of foreign medical trip with an alibi .... Change starts with you Mr president

The OP will not be happy with the response he is getting. I think this is the second time this story is making front page, just to make an issue out of it, but rather no body seems to see anything wrong with president seeking medical attention. He wants people to scenariolize Yaradua in it. But the respondents are not playing along. Wishing Mr. President long live to serve his full two terms.
Wailing wailers try harder.

He wants to use the remaining of his days to visit the whole world. A notable achievement undecided am just so angry this afternoon.....yesterday, a plate of semo+ a meat which is usually #200 suddenly increased to #250. I couldn't help but to pay and the lady didn't even notify me before serving me. Now this afternoon, normal indomie super pack which my neibor sells for #60 is now #70.

Which way Nigeria?? Lord bless me in such a way that even if dollar increases to #500, it wouldn't affect even the tiniest strand of my hair. Ah!!!! Lord save us from suffering and smiling cry cry

Admittedly, our health care delivery here in Nigeria is poor.

Two, if you have the means, you would also seek medical care outside this country.

Three, his actions does not threaten the sovereignty, peace and progress of the country he presides over. Health care is universal, and he can get it anywhere he so wishes.

Stop being dumb.

And some wailers say SR is an APC outlet anytime they reported negative story against PDP/GEJ.

This attitude of blaming the messenger when a news is not in favour of anyone in Nigeria nauseates me.

Even The Economist was accused of being an APC-sponsored.

If it's an emergency and there's no alternative, yes. But not on just medical check-ups. This is one time too many. How would our hospitals here get better if all our "so called" leaders and lawmakers always choose hospitals abroad to go for check-up. Don't get me wrong, not that I'm judging them or saying they shouldn't go if they have serious health issues, but trust Nigerian politicians to take advantage of every opportunity they get and misuse it,for example to launder money, etc.

What is shocking here? Everybody gets sick once in a while.....mtcheeeeew!

I find it most stupid, inconsequential the idea that certain individuals may be shocked a 74 year old man can not aspire to the same healthy standards of his 58 year old predecessor.

Dwight Eisenhower is by a long mile one of the greatest military leaders not just modern times but ever, also one of the greatest presidents in the US and a great leader who eschewed peace, prosperity and progress.

Must I remind you all that he was a rather unhealthy man who suffered a severe heart attack before his second term. Or that Franklin Roosevelt was a sickly child who latter as president spent a considerable amount of time in a wheelchair, that did not stop him from registering his name as a leader, Teddy Roosevelt was shot in an assassination attempt and had a bullet with him lifelong.

Everyone of us is sick. It is natural for people to sick and it is also their right to seek medical attention. Buhari is not a super human being, he is a human being capable of being sick. There is nothing wrong for him to go for medical check up.
Was this how GEJ went on check up, in a short while of 8months in 2011/2012?
