The wars of the future will rely heavily on electronic targeting capabilities. The US Navy, in particular, will rely on sophisticated communication networks to coordinate missile strikes. Unfortunately, lax technology could leave Washington’s fleet dead in the water.

Historically, smaller naval ships have been used to escort larger vessels, such as aircraft carriers. This strategy presents a united front, and is easy for enemy forces to spot and target.

For potential future global conflicts, the US Navy has adjusted its strategy. Known as "distributed lethality" the Pentagon hopes to use smaller warships in a more scattered array. Dispersing across a wider area, smaller naval vessels could focus long-range missile attacks on a single target without that target being sure where the next attack will come from.

This kind of tactic requires advanced electronic communications capabilities. When covering such large distances, all ships within the fleet would need to have instant data-sharing capabilities, as well as with intelligence satellites and targeting aircraft.

The Pentagon is concerned that networking systems are highly vulnerable. One swift electronic attack could leave the entire fleet offline and adrift.

"It’s a huge priority," US Representative Randy Forbes, House seapower subcommittee chairman, told Breaking Defense. "It’s not just the Pentagon that’s concerned about losing our advantage [in electronic warfare].

"If you talk to some of the top CEOs at some of our most defense contractors, they would take it a step further and say we’ve lost our advantage and now we’re playing catch-up."

Existing networks could be susceptible to jamming, anti-radiation homing weapons, and even wireless hacking.

"Absolutely we have gaps," Vice Admiral Tom Rowden, commander of naval surface forces, said during the Surface Navy Association conference.

The Navy is considering a number of methods to ensure the safety of its ships. One option is the "low to no power" concept, which would force vessels to operate at reduced power to make it more difficult to detect electronic output.

Others stress that the Navy needs to install redundant networks, rather than relying on a single system, as well as local area networks, that can be designed to be more difficult to penetrate.

Going Old School: US Navy to Train Recruits to Use Celestial Navigation Amid Hacking Fears
"We’re not talking about a network that reaches all the way back to the CONUS [continental United States]," said Mark Gunzinger, senior fellow with the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, according to Breaking Defense.

"We’re talking about local area networks that are very LPI/LPD [low probability of interception/low probability of detection]. That network can be very difficult for an enemy to break."

Other world powers, including Russia and China, have advanced their electronic warfare capabilities at a faster rate, and the Pentagon may be forced to rely on more traditional means of naval combat.

In October, the US Navy announced that would begin retraining recruits to use celestial navigation, citing concerns that cyberattacks could knock out onboard computers. If attack systems are equally vulnerable, the Pentagon may need to develop similar backup strategies for offensive maneuvers.

Its no news that the self acclaimed greatest military power is lagging behind, when it comes to modern warfare.

Modern naval warfare is not about having fleets of aircraft carrier's,naval ships and decieving oneself that you have the military might, while it will take just few jet fighters to sink all fleet within minutes.

We saw that play out, when US violated the black sea accord with her (DDG-75)destroyer equiped with their latest aegis combat system, defence system, neval weapon system that can destroy hundreds of target simultaneously, more than fifty anti-aircraft missiles of various types, plus 4 radar system with power comparable to that of 200 stations.
russia responded by sending just su-24 and su-30 with neither bomb nor missile. Just a basket that contains khibiny(electronic device). When the su-24-30 came near the USS donald cook destroyer, it disabled all radars, information transmission system, control circuits, the self acclaimed all-powerful aegis system hooked lyk agbada wey hook for barb wiregrin
In an instant, the NATO's most advanced modern ship shut down, just lyk Cyprus will decide to switch off his tv with a remote control when bored by a vapid tv program.

After repeating a particular maneuver pattern 12times and stimulating missile attack on the deaf, dumb and blind almighty USS donald cook destroyergrin. The Su-24-30 got bored and decided to have mercy on the less priviledged(DDG-75)grin.

Immediately the su-24-30 went out of sight and their system restored, they scampered to romania for safety.

This is even conventional warfare. We're not even talking nuclear, cos that one has been settled on earth and in heaven.

anytime I see all this western zombies ranting on how US has the the best and greatest military force, I usually feel pity for them, cos they have undegone irredeemable brainwashing, due to too much exposition to make-believe and ingestion of distorted content from CNN,FOX,BBC,hollywood movies etc

All of the above. Civilians have long time been sitting ducks in the sense that they can't control their leaders. I have a cousin in the U.S that says, "if you are hating america, make sure you are pinning the hate at our leaders as we ourselves don't have control over what they do."

Now that's the part the civilians have been reduced to play. The sitting ducks. The same way in today's warfare, it's not by spending over 500 billion on defense in which an heavy jammer can decapitate even without fighting big wars, the war is over.

Can you name one verifiable source to support your donald cook story?

Just one undecided

The snake oil story you are still selling in 2016 has been debunked already and guess what? It was the manufacturer of the so called "Khibiny" that debunked the story themselves. Yet here you are still spreading it as the truth.

This is the problem with Russia propagandists.

That was snipped from KRET's website.

First; I hope you don't expect west controlled mainstream media to expose the "spineless sissy" the self acclaimed greatest military is, nor do you expect pentagon to say "Oh! Yea! russian did jam our system," when they have their repute to pretect and have to reassure and convince her populace/investors, plus facading their grotesque before the world?

If you'll put down your overt sentiment and approach this matter with objectivity, it will go a long way in sloughing the "make believe" you have inebriated yourself with.

Miss, I would've referred you to only russian source, but to avoid claim of sentimentally biasness. I will put up links from american warfare experts who were lil bit sincere, with just one russian source.

None of this rubbish link is credible. Who can be more credible than the manufacturer of the same weapon that wrote on its website that it was a hoax?

Sputnik is rubbish

unsi.org debuked it!

Kret ( the weapons manufacturer) confirmed it was a lie!

Blogspots are not credible sources!

Your DoD page cant be found!

You can sell your story to your fellow Russia propagandist who pick their garbage theories online.

So sputnik is not a credible site now? And you actually expect unsi.org(western controlled media) to outrightly tell you what happened? I gave you unsi link to show you that it did happen but they'll dutifully debunk it to avert worldwide digrace.

Quite funny how you dimissed the american warfare expert analysis as a mere blog..lol.
Anything for your master'sgrin very loyal and faithful servant.

BTW, which kret refuted the claim? Is it the same kret that it deputy general director-igor Nasenkov validated the claim here>

Or another kret that I don't know of? Try to dey lie small small, missygrin. infact, if it happened that kret refuted the claim, you actually expect russia to share all data of her military operation with a mere company that can sabotage their operation

In short provide the link to the place on their website.

Lest I forget. how about you provide a link to the alleged hoax reported by sputnik. hope you don't expect me to ingest your claim as fact in this age of photoshop and media smear

Copy and paste the address on google search to make it clickable. I'm having prblm making it clickable here.

Your case is beyond redemption i see.

So according to you, A Russian pilot inside his cockpit used his terminator eyes during a flyby to asses the Donald cook Aegis system and noticed that all the screens went black, After the incident, US sailors went back home and resigned as if they are working in Walmart without any contractual obligation to the Navy.

Common sense they say is not common. Please tell me more

You said Russia's military will not share information with a "mere company" so they wont be able to sabotage their operation. Well let me educate you. The "mere company" is owned be the Russian government.

WTF..are you for real on the embolded, missy?
I should've known that I'm engaging a warfare juvenile all this while.sad

what do you think electronic warfare is all about? Infact, when a system is jammed what comes to your mind?
Some sort of conclusion a pilot-fighter makes, without data backing to discern him on the actual state of things. I mean, what do you understand by interception of transmission and shutting it?.
You think that the algorithm of the radar in the "Aegis” system can load under the influence of superior jamming system, or rockets can get target info under the same influence?
You think a superior weaponry can't paralyze control circuits with the perpetrator having full knowledge?

I can't just help but keep asking even tho I know you're not discern on it and can't come up with sentimental devoid logically answer, just lyk you had to capitalize on sentimentally bias assertion from the last link(link you ought to read btwn lines and get the real info) I provided to make a baseless argument that even a novice wouldn't make.
Ok, let me reason in your proposed cerebral capacity. So! as a military professional. you'll allow an adversary to fly around your deck, do battle turns and simulate missile attack on you, Then turn and repeat a particular maneuver 12 good times.
While you assume and pray that your adversary don't do something abysmal to you, without trying to establish contact to know what's up or activate "aegis" and other defence system. Do you lots think that everyone is a zombie or puting on diaper?

As regards to the ownership of kret. I'm not an ocean of knowledge, neither am i privy to who owns it, but that doesn't mean that kret gets or has all russian aerial military operation data, as regards to their invention.
That said. I don't believe that they refuted the claim which both inside and outside sources confirmed.

If you can't provide a link to butress your claim, then you don't have an argument and there's no need going back and forth on this already hullabaloo argument, especially now that I have to meditate on my table tannis game tomorrow.

Missy89 or what is that your name self.. are you for real ? Now this what i call super brain dead zombie. Zombie oh zombie.. Fela said everything and this is why fela remains a legend even after his death.

It's a confirmed story that took place in the black sea from dirrect source (meaning those on the frontlines where it took place). I have been to the black sea before for your information. It's purely Russian on the side of Ukraine and the Crimean that reunified with Russia via a refferendum after coup in kie that saw Yanokowich remove from seat. Even Odessa till tomorrow speak pure Russian. I can even tell you more stories about that area.

There is no talk on that.. The same U.S strong head and fools again went back to the Black with the hope that Russia will try to disable it again but the second time a wiser Russia they fear the most flew very close to it instead of disabling it the second time. It followed it to safe zone.

N for ur information i don't do copy and paste from any website when it comes to such vital info. I go dirrect to the source via a phone call.

Sorry for the late response. I saw your mention in the morning but was too occupied with my tannis game.
Lol..you peeps are already wanking on this mattergrin funnycheesy

First; I have reiterated my position on this matter, as regards to kret refuting claims made by outside and inside sources, both from russian civilians and military.
pentagon acknowlegded that they did get buzzed and even protested, tho unsurprisingly gave slightly different account to to mirage their disgrace.

kret is just a company and not russian air force, neither do I expect russian airforce to share all her operation data with kret. That's not how it's done in the military.
Navy, airforce and army don't have same modus operandi, neither do they share all information(the lesser the peeps that are privy to an operation/mission, the safer and successful) not to talk of a common state owned radio electronic firm operated by civilians.

It is evident that you're out to defend your master's and have decided to overlook objectivity while embracing sentiment.

On that note,I'll bring another incident with almost same scenario, so you can give your usual inutile defence

Have you heard of "kitty hawk." Incase you don't know, let me give you an account on how Russian Su-27 Flanker
and Su-24 Fencer made mockery of US aircraft carrier "kitty hawk."

US and japan were performing an excercise in the sea of japan when russian reconnaissance aircraft Su-24
escorted by Su-27, materialize from no where on the dumb kitty hawk that saw the jets only when they decided to show themself.
The russian jets made a 500-knot, 200-foot pass directly over the tower of kitty catgrin
And made two passes over kitty hawk, before kitty hawk crew that was in panic, re-orientated themself and sent plane after 40minutes, to intercept russian jets.
su-24-27 made mockery of their weak attempt to intercept them and zoomed off.

If it happen to be a war situation, kitty hawk would've been chilling at the bottom of the seagrin

Before you start your zombism. Here is the pics taken from russian su-24, su-27 that was later sent to kitty hawk after the saga.

Haha grin why are you was wasting time on him, he resorts to shouting by using irritating font size to post. If your phone is set to loading webpages not mobile pages you will almost wonder what sort of damaged brain is producing this nonsense.
Shouting and making coherent points are not the thing one doesn't guarantee the other. I guess you engage him because it brings sone sort of comical relief.

Hey, you narcissistic, maliciously malodorous manifestation of contraceptive persona.

You never fail to show the world the incalculably repulsive idiot that you're anytime you open the faecial-odour filled hole you call mouth to douse all doubt on you being a brain-damaged butt-holed simulated m0r0n, a glorified woman wrapper at thatangry

I'm allergic to imbecilic man-bitchs lyk you who asslick for some sort of sexual gratification, neither will I tolerate side bitchh talk on my person from a disgusting, all-befouling offense to sanity.

I remember i unequivocally warned you to stay off my lane and ignored your stupidity on the other thread, cos you're nothing but a boorish contemptible swine, but it is evident that my attention gives you hard-on and you won't rest until you court it.

Ok! from now on, I'll make it a duty to curtail your lunacy, since it is evident that you're some sort of soul-draining,mental-pillaging,life-sucking viciously programmed zombie, developed to infuriate and alter human sanity from one corner of cyber space to another. angry

You've been trying shitt with other peeps, but you just met your waterloo, cos ama decimate, cremate and sacrifice your pathetic existance on the altar of my infinitesimal tolerance, then spray your ashe to appease my temper for desecrating the sanctuary of my civility with consummate stupidity . You flaccid doltangry

I heard you hate my font. guess what? I have a solution to your problem on that.

Vedaxcool, This is just an example that these people are beyond saving.

Now look at this clown grin. Obviously lying thru his teeth about visiting the black sea and getting direct information from the source "via a phone call" ( Trying so hard to be credible)

His sources happen to live in international waters or probably have bionic eyes to see what was happening from the Coast.

Keep deceiving yourself

Ode, this is why you need to hear from the main source which you obviously want me to tell you more. I won't reveal but the facts are there and only common sense will even set you free. Answer my last question about the Buk missile.. Always use common sense please.. The min. requirement is use common sense. May Ifa continue to show you the way. Lost zombfied Anglozionist potential puppet.

NOw let me ask you this question to show your maximum hypocrazy.. When the person that built buk missiles proved that it was not his missile that shut the Mh13 down, did you believe him or not ?

I am 110% sure your likes would never believe him but run to believe when it was written in ordinary website that one thing did not heppen.. You actually think the late founder of Kalashinkov will ever admit if any of its Ak47 was used to steal millions of dollars in America that it was 100% his Kalashinkow that can do that type of job??

Use your common sense nah..

The embolded. Even you manage to summon the chutzpah to stand your repercussion(Cyprus).
Can a zilch-existent Intelligence quotient, an absolute, opaque putridus m0r0n, whose life is a perfect blue print of foolish and ness

a guillotine deserving lascivious misdemeanant and a wearisome chronically flatulent mediocrity-afflicted neophyte with glacially infinitesimal cognitive faculties lyk you

Stand a descendant of jah mighty whose heart is devoid of mercy for sapiopathetics, your almighty nemesis(Cyprus), when he decides to half gloriously come down in his celestial wrath to heartlessly administer judgement on an aberration of nature lyk you and to separate and protect his sheeps of wits from first filial progeny of a neo-australopithecus africanus specie, playing blight on humanity.

What an incorrigible sapiopathetic, whose dumbness is acute, that he learned how to wave "goodbye" at 19yrs of age.

You obnoxious, despicable idiot. You don't need to cook your beef for me. I'm a carnnibal. I eat my beef raw, tho I don't engage civilians, but I'll make your case an exception for the sake of sapiens, since you crave my attention lyk your penurious life depends on it. It's one of my little way of giving back to the society.
