But when they came up with their 'unlimited' plan claiming there were 'no limits', I was very skeptical. But they kept mailing me and claiming it was truly unlimited without limits. I called their agents who assured me that there was no hidden speed cut. So, eventually, I subscribed.

Less than 2 weeks later, I noticed that my speed kept dropping. Eventually, it became almost unusable- couldn't even open Gmail. At that point, they sent me an email claiming some 'fair use' policy and asking me to resubscribe if I wanted the speed. What nonsense? I've used internet in various countries. If it is unlimited, the terms are always clearly stated from the beginning.

I was so annoyed that I moved to MTN LTE which is way cheaper and almost as fast. I don't mind paying for good internet. But I don't want to be lied to. NCC ought to investigate Smile for that fraudulent plan.

Currently using the smile unlimited plan and unable to make whatsapp calls on it, the speed is not wonderful and sometimes nairaland website has problem opening especially when traffic is high.

Their so-called claim to offering superfast connection is all wishy-washy! Whatever they claim to offer I can do same on spectranet. Stream YouTube, whatsapp calls, Skype video calls all super clear (with the obvious hiccups once in a while). I've actually had an hour's presentation from the US. All inside my lean 25gig O. Even to hack their modem to unlock am is impossible. The manufacturer of the modem is almost unreachable

So sad. I long dropped them when I discovered they were not giving the actual volume of GBs paid for.

This's almost the same experience I had with spectranet which I shared here. They promised buy 20GB and get 40GB and I fall for it. Once I paid my modem stopped working. It continued to 2 weeks to expiry before they connected it back. Upon connection I began browsing and downloading, but within 2 weeks I was told I have zero data left. But, when previously I bought 40GBs without promo, I have never finished it!. How did I exhaust 40GBs within 2 weeks?.

The NCC should beam their searchlight on these 4G LTE operators. They're in a world of scam of their own and the only reason this's not popular is because they have fewer customers compared to MTN and the rest of the GSM networks.

Nobody talks about the massive corruption going on in Nigerian companies!.

I hear MTN is behind this service... just like DSTV is to GoTV! SA wayo!!

Smile is a scam. I have never used them but having read their leaflets, I can say they are out to rip off Nigerians and nothing more.

I know, i use smile and during the day you cannot get 1mb. In fact it will be competing with Glo at 10kb to 500kb/s and the Glo wins.

But with Spectranet i can reach 3mb/s
