dhtml18:

I agree that my neck is longer than a girraffe's, but it is not a fork.

Fine, they have similarities, but lots of differences.

The history was that: I use zebra_database a lot, in fact, i use all stephanbros libraries very well, from zebra_session to zebra_pager etc and love the way that guy codes.
But when it comes to this zebra_database, there are too many errors, like i hate the debugging console, and it also has memory leaks (which you will never find in dhtmlsql).
To worsen matters for myself, I have used zebra_database extensively in my FRAMEWORK (which will soon hit open-source) before i discover the memory leaks and some other glitches in the zebra database. So i decided to write my own database library to use same function name, and parameter but different techniques. What this means is that, dhtmlsql can be used in place of zebra_database without changing your implementation. But there are some short-cuts, in fact many inside dhtmlsql that zebra_database lacks.

Again, dhtmlsql supports all known mysqli functions (zebra_database does not). There are many differences between the two libraries.

This is the reason that, if you compare the two codes - you cannot expressly say that dhtmlsql and zebra_database were written by the same programmer. Two completely different handwritings.

So, all in all, from my own point of view, dhtmlsql works better for me that zebra_database, and is a good alternative.
OK, but you didn't rewrite all of it.
But as a open source dude I thought its better to send your code to the master repo rather than to fork other project and debug them on your own. Since the project is still active.

Err, your analysis ain't correct, but close enough. . . .and i do not believe that zebra database is way ahead, with all the memory leaks and strange bugs that are inside the library?
Don't tell me that you are beefing that powerful library ooo.
Its more robust than yours and as an older library, bugs must be available due to constant improvement.

You might have a point, but then, it is a free world, i selected the path that is fastest for me - and i got the desired result - clear of all the strange bugs plus some other features that are necessary for proper running of my framework.

You know what, all this thread is just about attempts to deconstruct my codes. . . . .but you guys claiming challengers need to post your own codes and contributions as well to help the community.
@guru1, FYI: I do not owe anyone reason as to why I created my library and all that, i am just humouring you guys. The main purpose of dhtmlsql is to run my framework - which will be published very soon - just so that people get familiar with it first.

Now, enough talks, you guys too should post codes and let us talk. It should be code vs code, and not code vs talks.

Okay dudes, let us navigate away from dhtmlsql, after i have proven it is not a clone. what about the other things i posted? phpbrowserbox, google chrome plugin, etc?
@seunthomas, oya, post us some of your own works too make me learn jor, stop deconstructing my works and making me reveal trade secrets (of open-source stuff).
Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by seunthomas: 12:05am On Feb 25, 2016
Here we go again. Firstly, the project called dhtmlsql is like 95% similar to an open source project. I can pull out that project for you bros. zebra database is far more stable than your thiefing.. I can vouch for it cause there are ways we can see bugs(using the right set of tools). In summary you still insist on maintaining your stand that you did not steal code and rename it(This in essence very shameful and anti open source). I will go ahead and expose you more na...... Except you do the proper thing and apologize as well as go to zebra database and get a copy of their license and place it in your fork. You also commited a major stupidity by changing LGPL 3 to MIT. Thats why they insult naija programmers outside this country. This in many cases is not feasible. I stand to be corrected(you may argue on the bases of php being non binary language).

You have still failed in your earlier attempt of dhtmlsql was cloned from zebra_library. But even if that is so, at least i still did work on it.

But even till now, you have not still showed us any of your almighty works? Your fans will be disappointed o?

Bro my work is everywhere ohh. I am sure something i did might even have been used in NL. I suggested some changes in some languages although by my other aliases. LOL.
Am not trying to drag you down, its just you are too proud. If you follow my line of thought you will understand am not contending with you, am very sure am a better programmer and very much more experienced. The point i stand for is making people better really not destroying them. I stand to gain nothing on destroying(except the laffs-laffs wickedly....). Well in the real sense i like what you want to do, which is create an open source environment in Nigeria. I support and will support it. And please stop asking me to show you my work. I am CTO in a company doing something your probably could not even imagine(high tech stuff). For that reason i cant show you any work because i will be selling my company for free na.

I will rewrite dhtmlsql in 2 hours and it would be faster and better performing than what you currently have and it would be 100% my code, but i doubt if what i write will compete with zebra cos thats a larger community. My point is you need to believe sometimes even without seeing. Dont be a thomas. Programming and coding itself is the highest form of faith. You write code and it can change the world.

Oh, so you assume that all these stuffs i have been posting on nairaland are my real stuffs that i actually eat from? All these stuffs are fun stuffs, all these githubs, sourceforge etc are just a tip-of-the-ice-berg.
Or do you think the stephangbros dude actually eats from the zebra_database either? Even as I am writing all these jargons on nairaland? I am working on a very powerful android app upgrade. Maybe i shall share it on nairaland someday, maybe not. . . .depending on my company.

So being CTO or whatever is not an excuse not to post open-source things - which all real programmers do. All these talks you have talked will not help upcoming guys. In that, I am still your superior. . . . .in talks, you are my superior.

No matter what you and I say, the facts speak for themselves. And you might not know it, after all your earlier criticisms of dhtmlsql, the usage has actually increased drastically and many developers have been thanking me in the background for sharing it with them.
And take it or leave it, all these your arguments here will even increase my popularity more and more.

I registered. It's cool. I think I have to learn at least a programming language this year; say like Javascript or python.

Unfortunately am not an illiterate. I use git a lot too. So far i have seen very little activity in that repo. So lie to someone else abeg. bros, just admit you stole the code and am off your case. Simple.

Lol. A coder is below a software engineer or a project manager. I am NOT a coder but if I HAVE TO I can write code. I don't brag about coding. I project manage coders and ensure QA is met. Deal with that
