plse i need advice, my story goes like this, in 2013 i applied to go do my Msc in the US but was denied. In my application then, i didn't indicate that my dad was a PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN US. due to the fact that 2yrs prior to 2013 he divorced my mum and remarried in the states.(marriage wasn't for any gain cos he was already a PR by then) so we had a bad relationship. but now we have reconciled and he is inviting me to come visit him, planning going in December cos my company closed for the year then.
my question is that would it affect me now that i didn't indicate that my dad was a us citizen back then and how would i know if i have been banned?

NB: my dad been in the states since 1993, owned a company there and he basically wants to start easing me lil by lil into the working of his biz, i do not plan staying there now permanently beyond by visit visa if i am granted but definitely would work towards that in the later future moving there permanently.

He can sponsor you if he has enough money in such a way that the cost of your trip will not affect his finance.

Please i want to ask: Can one who has a balance of 800k in his savings account that has been built up with a monthly deposit of atleast 80k over the last 8 months from a verifiable source be denied a schengen visa on ground of "insufficient funds"? Thanks for your anticipated swift response.

Hi. I would appreciate some advice concerning applying for a Tier 2 UK visa. I had previously lived in the UK but had a few issues which led to my overstaying my last visa. I left voluntarily at my own expense in 2011 ( I still have the e-ticket printout). Recently I have been offered a professional job with a Certificate of Sponsorship that meets all the requirements.

I wonder if the one year mandatory ban is still an issue as I left in 2011.

The only way to know is to apply giving honest answers to the questions.
Then at least you will not make things worse.
Unfortunately you must pay the visa fee.

People here can only guess at an answer to your case.

Good evening Vicjustice, Justwise and worry 359, please help me out, sometimes in 2014, I applied for a uk visa and was denied cause I used my uncle as my sponsor, and we made a mistake of not indicating how much he was going to spend on me for the trip.

Secondly, my friend's signature on his passport was different from the one on the invitation. These were the reasons for the first refusal.

In 2015, I applied again but was denied, it was stated that I did cash lodgement, for your information, the company I worked for had issues with the bank, so we stopped receiving salaries through that particular bank. He never allowed us to open another salary account, instead we collect salary by hand.

Meanwhile, whenever I received salary I always use my company as the depositor.

I have a company that has been registered since 2014, and I want to apply for uk visa.

Please can you be of guide on how to package my application?

Thank you as I await your response.

Hi all,
I need help with an issue. I completed my study in the UK last year and before the end date of my study I applied for leave to remain as spouse cos my husband is on temporary resident permit as an EEA dependent, it was refused that he needs to have hold his visa for 5 years. I returned to Nigeria and applied for visiting visa twice now and it was refused citing insufficient funds and genuiness of visiting. Now I want to apply to study another masters in the UK, any idea what the outcome might be

If your masters is genuine (were you undergrad or masters last time?)
It will depend on your finances.

With you applying for leave to remain and two visitors visa you look very desperate to get to the UK an this may affect you.

Hello everyone,

I need your candid opinion on a burning issue which has been troubling me for some time now. I am really ashamed and remorseful of my actions, it was just the situation I found myself. I was once a footballer and once had an opportunity to travel to Europe for my footballing career but this did not work out as planned. I got a passport for this purpose where I did not use my real age, as advised by my coach and agent. I later dropped football and went back to school. Now I am done with my first degree and I intend going abroad for my masters degree. The old passport with my false age expired and I proceeded to the NIS office where I met an Immigration officer who assisted me and got me another passport after I did the Biometrics. I actaully paid him 100k for this. I really don't know if it was renewal or re-issue he did but this new passport has my real age and name which tally with my academic documents. The new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page. Now my question is, with the old number available on the passport, will the embassy verify and compare the information on the new and old passports?

Thanks for your useful contributions.

First of all, anyone who is not your parent or sibling is not deemed eligible to sponsor your trip except there is obvious benefit in doing so.
Secondly, inconsistent signatures either indicate a probable fraud or that the signatory is erratic.
Thirdly, any method of payment that does not conform to electronic bank crediting is unacceptable, and no explanation can justify it.

I can't really be a guide, but i am happy to be of help where i can.

What do you mean "the new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page"? I just checked two Nigerian passports, and i could only see their individual numbers.
By the way, has your previous passport been used before for visa application?
If so, what year was it used?
Was the application successful?
What embassy?

The passport contains a passport number as well as the previous passport number. Some people here have such information on their passports too. Also, the passport was not used for any travelling purpose till it expired, I did not use it at any embassy. What do you think about this?

Though, they would be interested to know what's in the previous passport, but that won't be possible.
Now, if you didn't used the passport for any visa application, then you should be fine because, there is no way that any embassy can tell the information in the previous passport: besides, you can always maintain that you refused to use it because of the errors in the data.
It would have been very bad if an embassy had a hold of the passport (they would have saved the details in their system). So, rejoice!

Actually it was, because it's the newly introduced e-passport. I was under pressure and had no choice but to cough out that sum. Mistakes made, lessons learnt and life goes on. Thanks for your contribution sir.

just to put clarity. If you're asked about previous passport, simply state that it has expired. You do not need to volunteer the information in relation to the wrong data: I was only referring to the unlikely event that you are faced with the issue when I said that "you can always maintain that you refused to use it because of the errors in the data"

You posted this exact question on Tuesday.

Have you contacted anyone official to ask facts about the status of any ban?
Or do you just want people here to guess?

Avoid agents, you absolutely don't need their services unless you want them to put you into trouble and get banned.

You can not go to the US just to seek a job.
You can go as a tourist (no work)
You can go as a student (limited work + schooling.)
You can gain a job as a highly skilled worker and your employer will seek a visa for you
Highly skilled is medical doctor or skilled engineer type and very difficult to get.

I beg to differ. This is not going to help. Unless he never plans to have his father file for permanent residence for him, this lie will be quickly found out. Why doesn't he just admit the lie now? Although that is a pretty huge omission.
