The Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) Thursday clarified what it considered a misinterpretation of the petition that its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu sent to the British government over his travails in the hands of Nigerian government.

Head of IPOB media and publicity, Comrade Emma Powerful, cleared the air in a telephone chat with our correspondent, saying that Kanu “is not begging to be released” even though his freedom has been circumscribed since October 14, 2015.

He said that it was necessary for IPOB to make it known to the whole world that Kanu only wrote to the British authorities as a bona fide citizen to formally notify them of his “persecution” in the hands of the Nigerian government.

Powerful explained that since Kanu is a British citizen the authorities of that nation is under obligation to take action to protect its citizen who is in trouble hence it was wrong for Kanu’s petition to be misconstrued as pleading to be freed from detention.

In the petition dated March 24, 2016, written by Kanu through his counsel, Hon Ifeanyi Ejiofor the detained Radio Biafra director said he was “a victim of travesty of justice” and therefore called for the British government to be on the watch” on the progress in charge No: FCT/ABJ/CR/383/15.

“it is repeating the obvious to state that our client is a full British citizen by virtue of which position he is entitled to al rights, privileges and protections guaranteed under the British laws and conventions

Of course we all know that Kanu is gallant and cannot 'Beg'. Like Chiang Kai Shiek the Chinese Generalissimo who was ready to sacrifice his beloved son for Chinese Nationalism. Kanu knows that Biafran restoration is greater than his life and the life every single man.

Activist Kanu can sacrifice his life for Biafra, can Buhari sacrifice just one cow for 'one nigeria' which is united only by crude oil? No!

Meanwhile Presidiot Mumuhamido Dullharry still dey wait...grin

Did he come into the country with British passport and a Nigerian visa on it?

If he came in with Nigerian passport, then I guess there's little the British can do to help.

Even though I'm Nigerian with an Igbo name, I still prefer to pay for Nigerian visa to come in with a foreign passport. Reasons best known to me.

Kanu is fast getting tired of the perboiled beans he's been getting from the very patriotic wardens at Kuje, hence needs an "apiam" way from Queen Eliza. grin

You will rot there punk and there is nothing any of your louts out there can do about it. cheesy

The guy deserve the consequences of his threats and reckless utterances.
But keeping Kanu in jail while the terrorist fulani herdsmen continue to destroy, rape & kill with impunity while roaming freely unhindered without the slightest condemnation from the president makes a mokery of justice.
Justice must not be selective.

The serially ass-ravaged Albino claimed he has submarines with bombs fitted with nuclear warheads parked in his garage in UK with which he'd bomb the zoo to smithereens but he's spent three major holidays eating fried beans in Kuje prisons, yet not even a banger has been thrown on his behest.

Kanu is a Yellow advance fee fraudster. cheesy
