I just got an innjoo one droid and it has a 13mp cam, 5inch screen, decent resolution (290ppi), 2Gb ram and a fast processor, all for under 30k.

So what am I missing? I know the iphone 6's and Samsung S's of this world probably have a better build quality from glass to back materials and so on, but beyond build quality, what am I missing?

yea, even lesser(4,500), Im enjoying my itel 3 sim phone(java) that has a good fm radio(wireless) can even change ur voice 2 a girls voice, i enjoy my 2go v2.0 on it. it has 3.0m.p camera and 1.2mp front camera...What else do i need in a phone o

true! I started a search for my new phone at N12,000, after my old LG had been repaired twice by not so good techies

with N12,000 I got 512mb phones which would be okay to just surf the web, check emails, chat online on popular social media networks...

However, I wanted the security of enough ram, just incase, so I moved my search up to the N16-N21,000 range, but then I had to cover the camera, lol, also just in case.

So again, I moved up my search, to the N21-N30,000 range and that's where I found the innjoo one with a true 13mp camera. The 2gb ram was just an added bonus, but boy, it's breezy. Live wallpapers are so fluid, no glitches at all, just water-like motions, pretty awesome!

...but yeah, you're soo right. If all you want to do it stay connected, surf the web, watch a couple youtube videos, use basic chat apps like facebook, whatsapp(nothing memory heavy like intense games), then the N10,000-N15,000 range is more than all right. Really makes me wonder why the iphone 6 is almost 200,000 if not more. makes me wonder

specs are always so close these days, it's kinda getting harder to spot major differences.

though in some cases like "siri", props must be given for such innovation, but I wonder if slight edges in tech are worth such monstrous leaps in prices.

We all have our different reasons.Some, buy them just 4 class.
I believe high-end expensive smartphones, catches everything u throw at them, they ve got great display, better camera, great features, durable, well updated and fast compared to other phones with the same config.
For instance, extremely few phones can stand d note4 features, none of these mtk fones can be compare to it.

Also, very few phones can stand the iphone when it comes to speed, simplicity and regular updates.
Some phones are over expensive tho. At times Its the brand your paying huge amount 4 not the features.

You are missing a phone that will never hang irrespective of numerous apps you are opening, you are missing a phone that has a second hand value( for me, this work in such a way that I upgrade my phone with the old one to the latest)
You are missing a phone that will give you a peace of mind. You won't have to be scare of waking up one day and your phone won't.
You are missing quality of applications that apple product offers to her client comparing IOS platform with android. iOS apps are more superb than the latter.
You are missing the most secured phone. You don't have to worry yourself about your data getting hacked either using Bluetooth or other means which are more common to the opposite .

Baba, don't overyhpe any apple product here. And what are you saying about it not hanging or freezing? Please carry out informed researches before spewing such ignorant statements. Also, what kind of applications have more quality than android devices? Lastly, I guess those celebrities whose iClouds got hacked were using Bontel now.

Seriously I dont fancy big phones,or high end phone. If a phone can meet my basic requirements,am good to go. It doesn't necessarily mean I go break a bank to get it.

Maybe my mentality is because I read economics in the university,and also an Ijebu man.

I used to be a lover of high end expensive phones but I usually got bored of them after about two months. Last year I more than 8 phones; from Lg g pro to iphone 5 to iphone 4s to s5 to lg g3 etc and none lasted up to 2 months. Around Nov. I got myself a Gionee p4 and I can tell you its been the best smartphone ever, cheap and works well.
The one thing I miss in buying expensive phones is the attention it brings. Give me an S7 today and I'll be bored of it in a month.

Pple buy high end phones cause dey r as d name suggests, HIGH END. Do u knw d 2gb ram dat fones lyk injoo nd gionee use isnt dsame grade as d type an s5 wpuld use, dey hav levels called DDR. Evn cameras, a 13mp on a tenco isnt evn close to d 12mp on s7 because dey r tins called OIS nd lens quality, plus d body build nd chasis of dez fones r made frm premium material nd not common plastic. Evn dier screens use d latest corning gorilla protection. Everytin about a high end phone is premium nd hence expensive to make. D screen on an s6 edge costs $85 to make on each, dats d screen alone, d whole fone costs $280 to mak so hw do u expect samsung to sell it cheap? Pls understand dat dez high end phones r expensive for a reason nd dats y most infinix dont last as long as evn s4. Let's not condemn somethin we dont understand

You have just answered the question. One man's high point is another person's low point. I have flagships of both apple and Samsung instead of joining the bandwagon of those fighting about which is best, I always buy both, by the grace of the cosmic energy, the price for these phones are not high end for me. So, I believe the deciding factor is your pocket. Buy what your pocket can carry. This world has different brands, from standard, to premium, to deluxe and then to exclusive brands. In my world, I go for exclusive brands, it is not a waste, it is just who I am. It is not just about the phone, its about your personality, your image, your class is tied to stuff you own. while others sleep on mouka form, others sleep on tempur mattress. Poverty is a choice, so is wealth.

It might interest us to know that, from my experience, 75 out of 100 people who buy and use some category of High End phones, in most cases do so just to belong to a certain class of people. I have come across lots of people who use these sophisticated phones and all they do with it is make and receive calls, occasionally send and receive sms and thats all. Saving a new number in the phonebook is JAMB. Some times you see a person using a phone that is worth about 70-100k, for close to 3 or 4 months and wen u open some of the apps, u see that most of the apps and functionalities have never been used. For me in most cases, lots of pple buy certain kind of phones jst to belong to a class. Saw a man in my office that decided to buy a samsung galaxy grand duos, jst coz a subordinate go an S2 at that time. And he went ahead and asked phone pimpers to love-vendor his phone with all manner of apps, which he had no need for. U can imagine that someone who operates a firstbank account would ask for GTB Mobile, Diamond Mobile and Eco Mobile apps to be installed on his fone. The things we see these days eeeeehhh. Na wa oooo.

Lol. I have this believe some Nigerians just use those samsumg and co products just to show off that they have money tyan those using the like of Tecno. Most of them dont even know the functions well, and cant operate it to its last function.
The trurh is dat those using the mtk and cheap devices are more of techys and can bend the phones as they like....
