True I agree, but I don't know about them being executed though but when I was young I remember someone compared them. As young as I was then in my opinion I felt you can't compare them, I don't see how you can, they have different types of styles, swagger and music maybe because of their skin color

For example, many Nigerians will tell you (back in 1985) that the reason that Prince wasn't on the "USA For Africa" album was because Michael Jackson was there. The rumour was that Prince didn't want to have anything to do with Michael Jackson. Of course that story is false. Prince contributed a track to the USA For Africa album, he just wasn't on the We Are The World song, and that had nothing to do with Michael Jackson.

So, when Chris Rock interviewed Prince in 1997, he couldn't resist asking that question, was there any rivalry between Prince and Michael?

yea, to be honest I don't get why people did that with both of them, it made no sense but I feel they got away with it with prince and micheal because both of them were light skinned and had the same body type, even though only one of them is naturally light skinned.

It's actually you. No resemblance whatsoever to Derenle. Except maybe the hairstyle. Derenle is ugly with flat nose while Prince was a beautiful guy.

Someone described him as one of the funkiest humans to ever live, and I rightly agree with him.
Prince was in a class of his own. His "purple rain" will remain of one of the greatest songs of all time.

I won't be surprised if the song is voted into the National library of music.

Purple Rain was one of the biggest movies in Nigeria in 1985.

Thanks for the memories and the awesome guitar playing (the solo on Purple Rain was out of this world)

Just less than 2months to his 58 birthday

RIP to one of the most talented musicians ever. He could play over twenty different musical instruments. He was a producer/song writer/arranger/lead vocalist/background vocalist.
I remember that as a kid in the eighties, when I first heard the single,"I wanna be your lover" and when I saw the single realising that the song was written/performed/produced/arranged and both vocals and back ground vocals were done by only Prince. I was completely blown away. And for your information this was his debut single!
I believe Prince was 18 years old when that single was released.
I also believe he was the first artist given this unique privellege by his record company Warner brothers.
If you have never heard this song before please goggle it to understand this unique talent. I repeat,Prince played all the instruments on that song,he produced and arranged all the music,while providing Vocals as well as background vocals.
He also brought out groups like the Time and Vanity 6.
Such a great talent. RIP.

I love Purple Rain o! But sometimes I just want to fast forward it to Prince's guitar solo at the end. Just turn off the lights, turn on the A/C, lie down and listen to Prince PLAY.

Pure heaven.

What a loss!....PURPLE RAIN remains an all time favorite of mine. May his soul rest in peace!

Prince is not dead, he just hopped in his little red Corvette with his Raspberry beret and drove off thru the Purple rain and over Graffiti bridge, under the cherry moon. Because this is what happens when Doves cry. Unknown.... RIP
