Anger, anxiety, frustration and fatigue. Those are the words used to describe the atmosphere yesterday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja, as Arik air passengers were delayed for a little above 6 hours right there in the airport departure section. According to reports, this is not the first time this is happening as On saturday 19th November 2011, Arik flight was delayed at heathrow airport for about 6 hours.








The reasons for the delay this time around was not disclosed as all members of staff of Arik air were unwilling to speak to our BTPpoliticsToday correspondent, however, it was later gathered that the affected flights included: Abuja-Kwara, Abuja-Warri,Abuja-Lagos.

BTPpoliticsToday also gathered that a fight broke out between the angry passsengers and members of staff of Arik air leading to destruction of properties before the manager came to salvage the situation.

I have been hearing so many complaints about this airline, but Nigerians are the cause of their own pain. Tomorrow these same people will buy an Arik ticket again,including those reading now. So how do u expect the airline to give better services when they know it's citizens will eat every crap served,compalin and yet again come back for more crap.

Is there no one in the organisation that learnt queueing theory while in school?

Reduce your routes if the number of available resources (either the planes or aviation fuel etc) can't cater for all.

Reduce the numbers of trips to Abuja.
If u can't cover e.g Lagos - Calabar & Lagos - Uyo, cancel one and service the other 100%.

What is worth doing at all, is worth doing well!

I don't know when things will be right in this part of the world. Nothing works well!

And the most annoying thing is that instead of them to stop selling tickets and concentrate on how to fly those with boarding pass, they will continue to sell more tickets.

But I think Aero is even worst!!!

#takemeback to when coke was 10naira. In much saner climes, the passengers will be properly refreshed, calmed down and compensated, but no in Nigeria they are doing you a favor! Not minding if you are on a schedule, these are the little things that contribute to bad governance. These companies should be made to understand that they cannot treat their customers this way without valid reasons and compensation.

It is not the fact that the flight was delayed that annoys the passengers but the non communication and bad treatment of customers. I've stopped using Arik air since last year. Maybe if more people boycott them they might get their act together. But unfortunately Nigeria is a country of all talk and no action.

Did they not pay for a service or is the flight free of charge?

The government/ Airline authorities need to introduce a Compensation policy, by the time Arik spends a good chunk of their profits compensating for delayed flights, they will sit up.

I dont blame Arik but the regulatory agency (NCAA).if they are doing their job all this nonsense would have stopped.

Do not fly arik except if it is the last resort!

Arik Air owes every single agency FAAN, NAMA etc and the aviation unions.(over 12b).They even owe their "vulcanizers?"
I won't even mention their workers.
But who has the guts to shut down Obj and Peter odili s bizness?
