Forget graphics, if the story and gameplay are weak, the game has failed its purpose.
Yomieluv, go and look at The Order: 1886, one of the best looking games ever, but it failed in gameplay.

The Order did not fail in gameplay it failed with its short story. It's gameplay experience was good

all 3 are very important. but in order of importance i'd choose gameplay > graphics > storyline

I dont play games in 'game shops' cause the tvs there are of low res. I rather watch high graphic cartoons than play low graphic games

Better gameplay is arguable since it's basically the same formula with the 1st two.
As for the battles, they didn't really have as much impact, the others had suspenseful and exciting build up to big fight, fought and interacted with numerous creatures and personalities from Greek mythology, before that final fight with an Olympian god, but with GoW 3 you literally kill a good in the very 1st mission then go on to kill every other greek God throughout the course of the game like they were minor characters.

It was like they didn't care about the story anymore, they just wanted a reason for Kratos to kill things in the goriest way they could think of, by the end I was asking myself "what was even the point?".

dude wtf? Even from the beginning of gow 3, zeus already mentioned that the gods had to come together to eliminate the threat( kratos and the titans) .

It was an all out war, what else do you want to hear? What extra story are you looking for that hasnt been told in gow2? Gow3 is a DIRECT sequel, so you shouldnt have expected big changes or more story.

Gow 2 was the build up and gow 3 was the climatic battle.

dats d mistake most people make, even game devs, I believe a good game uses good graphics and game play to tell a great story as the tech allows

I will never choose graphics over gameplay, never, look at RE5 it was cool, gameplay was cool also, RE 4 was very cool too, but look at RE6, graphics is way better than the the two previous ones, but the gameplay is total junk, I played and played before it became a big chore, then I decided to delete that crap, another game is RYSe son of Rome, graphics was like reality, but the game is just a fecked up rubbish.
I still feel like playing GTA same again whenever I hear any of the old school hip hop songs playing on the radio. so for me gameplay comes first, story, music then graphics.

No mind them. The examples I dey see for graphics and storyline get very good gameplay as well. Make them call game wey get sharp graphics or interesting storyline without good gameplay, make I believe.

It actually failed quite horribly in the gameplay department. It had clunky controls and underwhelming generic shooter mechanics. And do I even have to mention the never-ending, poorly executed quick time events? The only highlights of the game were the impressive visuals and that one decent weapon that has a muzzle the size of a redwood log, which still weren't enough to save the game.

Gameplay first! Am a massive fps fan so imagine playing cod with bullet drop (velocity) compensation! Cod multiplayer revolves around small maps while battlefield has town sized maps! Imagine running from one base to another base on bf4!! Dats why dey added vehicles, attack choppers, boats! Graphics too are also fundamental, bf4 levolution in seige of shangai and order 1886 (d cutscenes and gameplay are the same, like mindblowing). well storyline.... Who needs storylines wen u've got team deathmatch and domination! Lol buh really we dont give two bleeps abt campaign/storyline. Multiplayer all the way.

I believe that the three should come in the following order : Gameplay first, to enjoy playing and to ensure that the stuff works. Graphics to provide immersion and aesthetics ( make my eye no de pain me). Storyline, to make sense of whats happenning and for emotional attachment. My two Naira (e done devalue).

for me storyline and gameplay na my only concern.graphics is their just to enhance the gameplay, thats why am in love with TELLTALE GAMES & ROCKSTAR

It's the experience that counts and they both work together. No game is enjoyable with poor gaming experience. For instance, if you have a lot of stuttering or frame rates dip low, say below 20-25 FPS and jumps back up. The game play has to be fluid.

Improve your experience by turning down image quality settings, minimise background tasks. Open you taskbar and see what you have running, get your start up menu and see what launches on start up, do you need all enabled? Give your PC more resources to game when the need arises and improve your gaming experience(disclaimer: mileage may differ due to hardware variations)

I am currently into Destiny (read that as I play it all the freaking time) and I also occassionally play BF4, I care very less aboit the stories in these games because the gameplay is too freaking awesome.

Play Bioshock: Infinite or Spec Ops: The line... Follow the the plot... That might change your mindset about playing games JUST for gameplays and graphics

NFS rivals... It has smooth gameplay but it's the most s+up!d NFS I've ever played...

Anyways... I understand you... If a gameplay is bad, you won't even play the game long enough to know if the story might be good or not... I get it... That was why my response was gameplay and strory
