if they sell 100g of gala 50 naira then but now they reduced the quantity to 25g at the same price , it simply mean that ur money now will buy half gala so if u want to buy full gala u pay 100 naira,

Stop using low oil prices as an excuse for Nigerians to go through hardship, Buhari saw this coming and promised to diversify the economy yet he allocated more money for Information minister than Agriculture.

The prices of oil is low and how has that reduced the money being pumped into the pockets of legisila-CHOP, Execu-THIEVES and Judi-SHARE ITS.

These people should also be considerate enough to reduce all allowances and salary to what a University lecturer is earning then we can move forward.

STOP BLAMING OIL PRICES, BLAME BUHARI

So you expect Buhari to diversify economy in 1 year that has not been diversified in 56 years?

Your deliverance is on its way.

Nigeria has been experiencing inflation over the years coupled with our growing population and recent dwindling in foreign exchange earnings. Tomato scarcity should be a lesson to Nigerians on the importance of agriculture over anything. We must feed ourselves well before any other luxury.

Your comment is very insensitive!

If everything were expensive, food should not be. If we had pragmatic labour and agricultural ministers, this would be a very good time to mobilise farmers at the grassroots. We don't import soil. We don't import land. We neither import hoes and cutlasses.

Instead, they removed the subsidy on fertilizer.

It's not you I blame. God punish poverty.
My bet is that you and a number of your loved ones have valid international passports.
undecided

It is not insensitive. It is reality, though sometimes I do think that societies get what they deserve. What is due to a people who support the brazen stealing of their commonwealth? A nation of economic illiterates and ethnic jingoists who think inflation is caused by their President, never mind the Purchasing Power Parity formula. Do they not see what is going on in Venezuela, Angola, Brazil etc? He who allows someone to rob him blind should not plead poverty.

And last time I checked, Agriculture is a private enterprise. Farmers will set any price they need to survive.

...and the farmers have been chased away from their farmlands by the herdsmen. again is the land use act not an impediment to the growth of agriculture?

I know but it is an eye opener for those who think agriculture is useless to our survival as a nation. We need to make the most use of our good arable soil to feed ourselves.

@Op, you should have said commodities were doled out for free in the past instead of you crookedly cutting down the prices.
Mind you a bag of rice is sold for #12,000 in Agege just last week and for #8,000 in Owode/Ifo Ogun state this week.
Thanks for that information, I need to get to Ifo this Saturday to buy at least four bags of rice before the price becomes unreachable.
