Scratch that. We might not be getting somethings right, but Nigeria is way ahead of Ghana in all ways. cool
Ghana bi bawo? angry
So many Ghanaians will gladly trade their citizenship to be a Nigerian. #fact

People Should forget all those "Ghana get 24hrs power supply" crap.
Or is it because some people out of their "I want to school abroad syndrome" start trooping into Ghana now makes Ghana better? It's same way they move to Benin republic and other" low level countries" just to satisfy their low esteem ego.

I'm a #Nigerian and proud of it. cool
Do you know that in three years, you can get your bsc done in benin repiblic.
It beats my imagination as to how you've come to a conclusion that peeps going to benin rep and ghana for schooling is just for the abroad craze. After writing jamb, waec, post ume, some ill retarded school will still deny you admission. These ones offer it on a platter of gold. So if it were you?

[quote author=onatisi post=46040181] you are a very intelligent and observant person. Right from the border or even the airport, any body will see the disorganized setup of things in Nigeria, Nigerians still see 24 hr power supply as development ,while 99% of world countries see it as a normal necessity for daily human living. Good roads are no longer celebrated or even announced as Nigerians do .the truth is Nigeria still have a long way to go[/quote

That was how a friend of mine traveled to Nigeria from the UK only for the plane to get to MMA and there was no electricity on the run way. He told me he felt like took off in heaven and landed in hell cheesy

The 24 hour electricity is enough for most Nigerians to argue that other African countries are better than us. They have better health care and inflation is not as prevalent as Nigeria. In fact, whenever I come into Nigeria from any other country the difference is always clear from the border. It is obvious we are still very much confused on how to organize ourselves undecided
There's no African country as populous as Nigeria. In fact, we are the most populous black Nation in the world.
You can't compare a country that' has a population lesser than a state in Nigeria with ours in terms of organisation.
Fine, America is 300+ million people and they more organized, but aside maybe Egypt and Ethiopia, there's no African country as old as the USA and none is as advanced as them. So no comparisons.

Well, the good thing is that you are entitled to your own opinions. You tried to DE-market Ghana but you did a good job in so doing(the opposite smiley ) , the very points you raised are just one of the many reasons why a lot of Nigerians want to leave their father land. You did not bring out any valid point or solution to make them stay or do business, which also ascertains the fact that Ghana Is doing better in many ways. Don't mix beer parlour ego and emotions with economics and policy making.

People that haven't been to Ghana will be in their room typing nonsense. The only good thing about Ghana is that it's peaceful and there's an improvement in power supply. Apart from that, Ghana and Nigeria is the same. There's a high level of corruption in Ghana just like Nigeria. No difference. Bad government everywhere.

Is this justification of the state Nigeria is in presently? I doubt if the American government have ever SPENT the kind of money our leaders have LOOTED since 1960.

Do you know how much has been spent of power generation in Nigeria over the past 50 years and still we are unable to produce 50,000MW of power?

Do you know how much has been budgeted for road construction and still we have morore bad roads than good ones?

Our healthcare system is in shambles, we have crude oil but import petrol products. We have bamboo but import toothpicks. We have fertile land but import food. Tomatoes!

It is apparent our problems do not lie in the fact that we are a populated nation. Neither does your argument hold any water because the US might have been practising democracy sine their independence but we have all been existing since the beginning of mankind. It is the same amount of time used by developed countries to get to where they are that we have always had.

Obviously, the issue here is our inability to conserve our time undecided

I concur and share the same view with everything you raised here cos they are the undiluted truth.
But someone saying Ghana is better than Nigeria in terms of governance or something else is what I strongly frown at. They've got their own challenges too. They are not and can never be better than Nigeria.
That we are at a point where we need to do things differently to achieve a positive result does not mean we are losing it. It's just phase that will soon pass.

I agree with you. When a Nigerian says "Ghana is better", it would help if we actually aspire to become like/even better than our notion of how good Ghana or any other country is for that matter. Unfortunately, when most people say this the next thing that comes to mind is how to travel to those countries instead of thinking of how to contribute to the development of our country.

Our sense of nationalism, if it ever existed, is dead.

And religion dooesn't help because it teaches us to work hard to get the reward of an imaginary "paradise", instead of working towards making THIS world which is actually guaranteed and real a better place for all living things.
