I SINCERELY DON'T BELIEVE THIS. IS THIS THE ENUGU AIRPORT? WHAT ELSE HAVE WE ASKED FOR RATHER THAN THAT WORK CONTINUES IN THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN ARROBA. LETS DISCUSS THE INTERIOR NOW.

Very nice! I was afraid that the present administration would halt the project, but it looks like the terminal will be completed on schedule by December.
Hopefully, the interior won't be a disappointment.

I love the design structure and color of the building...western countries standard. I don't like the typical Nigerian green sign...change that to something bright and contemporary pls.

May God bless Stella Oduah for championing this project. I hope the powers there be will allow this airport to operate to its full potential...I'm tired of flying into Nigeria via Abuja and Lagos. I WANT TO FLY DIRECTLY TO ENUGU...THE DEMAND IS THERE!

At Emene, along Enugu-Abakiliki Road.

No offence bro but it is Abakaliki and not Abakiliki.

This mistake is common but maybe when we start correcting them people can know the correct name.

Just noticed that there was no provision made for jet-bridges angry
Or maybe they will be installed on the non-glass area of the terminal

Nwanne, the building needs remodeling fast. The next SS/SE government should just close the airport down and remodel it to the original design and possibly expand it from both sides to make it bigger.

That won't happen unless the FG concessions/privatizes the facility to the SE states. I think there is space for a new domestic terminal.
The current domestic terminal could be used for airline offices, Immigration, customs and airport management offices.

Ndiigbo are very patient and intelligent. I love the idea of the current domestic terminal as Airport management offices. It is only a matter of time before Buhari presidency expires. I believe that Federal Government have no business in Airport management. That is the domain of private firms.(accredited firms.) They can carry out inspection to ensure regulation and laws are obeyed.

Sooner or Later the SS/SE will occupy Aso Rock again if the cesspit of a country continue. That building should fulfill purpose and attain its true design. It should be expanded from 28,000sqm to 40,000sqm from both ends during any future remodeling. In the main time, the focus is on getting the route established.

Hopefully, as from the first quarter of next year, the likes of Air Peace, Emirates, Lufthansa and Ethiopian airlines would be using the new facility.
The new terminal would adequately house those airlines because its passenger capacity is 2 million per year. I would support any plan to expand it to 40 or 50,000 sq km, with a new 30,000sq km domestic terminal. Both terminals should be connected via a tunnel/corridor.
With the promise to stop the importation of Aviation fuel within the next 2 years after the PH refinery and Orient refinery come on stream, the intl tickets to and for Enugu wouldn't be costly.

Can't wait to land at the new terminal in December.
Hopefully, more international airlines will start to land at the new terminal before December.

Looking forward to fligh from Doha to Enugu by Qatar airline or Dubai to Enugu by Emirates.

Hopefully, Turkish airline can kick off their Istanbul to Enugu flight as they already has been granted landing rights since January 2015.

Air Peace said in April that they will start their Enugu to China flight in some months time...may be they are waiting for the new terminal to be completed or that they haven't procured the planes for the international flights.

Tewolde said the airline would commence scheduled thrice weekly flights to New York-Newark from Addis Ababa on July 3 via Lomé, Togo thereby connecting Enugu to New York.
He said the company would deploy a modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route.
“For travelers flying out of Lagos through Lome to New York, the journey is about 12-hour flight as passengers will connect between New York-Newark and many cities throughout Africa.
“At Lomé, passengers will enjoy seamless connections to/from points in West Africa with ASKY, Ethiopian partner airline based in Lomé.
“Connections will be available to/from Abidjan, Bamako, Bissau, Brazzaville, Conakry, Dakar, Douala, Kinshasa, Lagos, Libreville, N’djamena, Niamey, Ouagadougou, Yaoundé etc.
“We are very pleased that Ethiopian Airline has taken the leadership role in Africa and is among the few leading airlines in the world to invest in this latest technology and efficient flying machine.
“Operating the youngest fleet in the industry with modern and comfortable customer features in cabin is one of the four pillars of our vision 2025, 15 years strategic road map and the introduction of the A-350 is one component of this strategy.
“We have also ensured that our aircraft are designed and configured to surpass the expectations of our customers.
“Africa’s first A350 will provide new features such as wider seats in both business and economy classes, the lowest twin engine noise level, advanced air conditioning technology and full LED mood lighting to enhance comfort while reducing fatigue after a long flight.
“The Airbus 350 XWB will enable us to further expand our service quality especially on our long-haul flights, strengthen our connectivity and with the least carbon emission to our planet.
He described it as “the New Spirit of Africa to the world.’’
As part of the anniversary, he announced that the airline would be giving out 10 tickets free to lucky winners from the Enugu zone.
“This will be part of the 50 free tickets that will be given out to Nigerians as part of our 70th anniversary.
“To qualify for the ticket, you have to like the Ethiopian Airline Nigeria Facebook page, then send an SMS with your Facebook name and the city you reside in, to 08133235804’’, he added.
Ethiopian Airline is the first International airline to fly into Enugu Airport since Aug. 2013 and connects Enugu to 92 destinations globally.
“It offers unparalleled onboard comfort to passengers and the world’s most environmentally friendly aircraft with lower carbon and noise emissions’’ he added.

Buhari is constructing what airport with what budget? where in Buhari's budget did it captured the Enugu airport. The budget for that airport was budgeted before Buhari was even elected. Even Enugu was not among the airport to be built with the $500,000,000 borrowed from China. They are Abuja, Lagos, Port Hacourt and Kano.

Chinese company offers to rehabilitate Enugu-Onitsha Expressway on concession

The construction company would rehabilitate the road with its sourced fund, while a process of recouping the money invested would be worked out

A Chinese construction company, China CAMC Engineering Limited, has offered to rehabilitate the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway on Built, Operate and Transfer concession.
The company, led by Dr. Chuma Ezedimma of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, made the disclosure on Friday during a courtesy call on Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.
Ezedimma, who is in-charge of the UNIDO Regional Office in Nigeria, said the Chinese company was a public-owned firm in Asia.
He said the construction company would rehabilitate the road with its sourced fund, while a process of recouping the money invested would be worked out.
“The idea is for China CAMC to rehabilitate the road and toll it for a number of years that will be agreed on to recoup its investment before transferring it to government,” Ezedimma said.
He said funds for rehabilitation of the road would not be a problem as the company had already taken advantage of the China-Africa fund in its operations.
According to him, the company is a reliable partner with UNIDO and has a wide range of interest, which includes power, oil and gas, petrochemical among others.
He said: “The mission of China CAMC Engineering Limited in Nigeria is to seek for investment in several areas like agriculture, infrastructure, mining and social investments.
“As a public and centrally owned company, it has access to the China-Africa fund, which is a $60 billion fund, which we want to use to promote technology and investment in Nigeria.”
Ezedimma said they were in the State to solicit positive partnership in the area of infrastructural development.
He urged the government of Anambra and Enugu States to table the proposal for the rehabilitation of the road to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
Responding, Ugwuanyi expressed delight in the interest of the company to invest in the state.
He said the state government had interest in direct foreign investment, which necessitated the first Enugu State Investment Summit held in April.
The governor said his administration would provide the enabling environment for all investors that sought to do business in the state to thrive.
“The interest of China CAMC to invest in our state is much welcome and we shall make them comfortable and their investments safe,” Ugwuanyi said.

Ethiopian Airline to commence cargo flight to Enugu in August

Enugu – Ethiopian airlines says it will begin its international cargo flights into Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu within the next two months.
The Head of delegation of the airline to Enugu, Mrs Firiehiwot Mekonnen, disclosed the plan in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Thursday.
Mekonnen said that the airline had concluded arrangement to station freight airplanes for the take-off of the service as soon as the Ministry of Aviation gives its approval procedures, which is expected within two months.
“So, we are still waiting for the approval from the Ministry of Aviation. As soon as we get the approval, we will start transporting the cargoes.
“We have already submitted the request, hopefully, we start the cargo freighting to Enugu. We are expecting it to be in the near future, may be in two months’ time,’’ she said.
She said Enugu had been a profitable market for the airline, which necessitates expansion of its services.
Ethiopian Airlines started launched international flight into Enugu in August 2013. (NAN)
