I believe I am one of the few guys on Nairaland who has actually flown a plane in a real flight simulator( Motion simulator actually)

It is my love or will I say curiosity for Airplanes that made me to search for a real plane sim in Lagos here,....location is classified grin

Anyway, there are some flight sims that will teach you the basic skills you need to fly an airplane like the CESSNA 172 SP, a light aircraft with a single propeller engine in front.

My first download was the infinite flight, followed by Aero fly 2, then I downloaded XPLANE 9 and 10 before I got the ultimate of them all,.....Microsoft FSX. Boy! you don't need to go to an aviation school anymore wink

I have landed an Airbus A340-600, big bird I must say cool

So If we have Enthusiast like me in the house please let us meet smiley

I must say that a lot of these flight sims are not free, however, they are affordable;.....$4.99, $3.99,...etc from the app store or Google play store.

I have landed a B747 and an A380 both on fsx and a flight simulator at a science museum in London.

Amazing feeling.

I have also decided to consciously start getting mad addons for my fsx

There is no need to be surprised, FSX has all world recognised IATA/ICAO airports known all over the world.

I hope you get to fly online on VATSIM, if you haven't then you are missing a lot. VATSIM is an online platform for enthusiasts in flying aircraft and air traffic controller, you will get to experience how real world flying procedure virtually. Its so much fun. I love flying then on my home made simulator, my favorite aircraft is the Learjet45

I did 1:30 flight today after hectic day at work.

I took C172 to 19,000 feet then I hit turbulence, omo it was crazy!

I almost condemn my controls

Final parking place is Saint Barth.

Flamming cliffs, jet fighter nd jet fighter reloaded, KA-42, Zapnex , Pearl harbour. Etc
Privilaged to have flown fighter aircraft like the F/A 18 hornet, Su 27 and 30(my personal favorite), Mig 29, j-10, F-7 Jf-17 thunder, F-16, F-4 phantom and the f-14 tomcat all for modern military aircrafts and P-40 ,messermishit, Japanese zero(wicked aircraft), corsair,Boeing 40 and finally the big boy himself c-130 spectre gunship.
All in full battle mode.
Combat Air patrol,Air to air missions aka dogfights my favorite on modern platforms but a huge nightmare on vintage platfroms ,interdiction,Air to ground ,suppression of enemy Air defence(never go in without enough ECM chaff and flares). Etc . That's the fun stuff and op please forgive my sarcastic intro I really admire your tenacity to chase the air despite the challenges we face in actualizing that dream.

Can you really operate those heavy and hi tech aircrafts?

Cessna 172 SP, baron58, twin otter and mooney are light aircrafts I have studied over the years, C172 especially. wink not fast but makes you to enjoy flying.

B737-800 is another I love but yet to perfect it. smiley

What version of fsx do you have?
Re: Flight Simulators Enthusiast! by jude33084(m): 11:01pm On Apr 29, 2016
I just got A2A C172 full package, it was a bit of money spent but well spent.

I also got aerosoft twin Otter aircraft, all in one.

These airplanes are the replica of the real ones, same sound, same aerodynamics and so on.

Now I have issue with my system,...there is a bit of setback in my home cockpit.

I need to upgrade my ram to atleast 8gig for smooth running of Fsx.

If you are in computer village and you deal on Cpu pls drop your contact here.

If you want to enjoy flying virtually do not use a laptop,....try to build a desktop with quadcore processor, 2.3GHZ and above with at least 6gig of ram.

Hello Jude! the Flight and the Racing simulators settings of yours are very interesting. I have a Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition. I have passion for flying, but unfortunately I cannot afford the training cost, so I resort to playing Flight Simulator on my laptop. I play it every time and I’m pretty good at piloting different types of airplanes, both take off and landing…B474, B373, B767, A340, A380, CRJ700, just to mention a few.. I had my time to practice on each of them to the level of indepth understanding because, apart from the fact that I have passion for flying, I’m a game addict.
But now, playing on my laptop is appearing boring, as I want to have both Flight and Racing simulators settings just as yours, to get as close to reality piloting as possible.
Infact, now, I can dare say, If I have the opportunity of getting into a Cockpit of B737, I will fly it from Lagos to Abuja without any fuss. That’s to tell you how I have mastered the mechanics of these aircrafts.. Even I can pilot B747 if given the chance.

So I would like to connect with you to know how I can set my simulators, and its very urgent.
In terms of the racing game, I’m pretty good at Need for Speed (Most Wanted), to the level that up till now, I haven’t seen a very good competitor to compete with me. I play with most of my friends that are professional in the race, via LAN, but still, none of them can compete with me. And that is reflecting in my real life driving, because anytime I handle my car, I drive it like its an “ant”, so to speak. But u know Nigerian roads! I cant drift as such because of the road conditions. So with the racing simulator, close to reality, I should be able to do anything I want with the reality simulator controls, and not with my joystick pads.

So, bottom line, I want to set up the Flight Simulator to include the yoke, joystick, throttle, quadrant, rudder panels; and Racing simulator to include the steering wheel, stick shift, paddle shift, accelerator, brake and clutch, just as it is in the picture above.
I’m damn serious.
You can flash me and I’ll you back so that we can discuss
