Louis van Gaal has been linked with a return to management with AC Milan, according to Gazetta dello Sport.

The 64-year-old, who won the FA Cup last season, had suggested his job at United would be his last in football after spells in charge of Ajax, Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar, Bayern Munich and Holland.

But Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting he is on the shortlist to replace Sinisa Mihajlovic at Milan along with Andre Villas-Boas and Ronald de Boer.

If we were planing to sign him for the striker role, I wouldn't mind but as a winger with that atrocious agility and first touch, that's a no for me. I doubt his finishing was even good to begin with and the reason he was moved to the wing in his team.
The point is I expect every player coming to the club to have atleast a good first touch and agility like Rashford who's a decent player- I guess that's not high expectation from my side. A player doesn't have to be as technically excellent with close control dribbles such as Zidane, Messi before I acknowledge he's good but he should have the basic.

It's a shame that David Silva had to operate as a winger for either City due to Pellegrin obsession with 2 forwards tactic or for Spain due to that Snail, Fabregas.
For me, he's still the best Spanish midfielder after Xavi. I could still recall his worldclass performance against Barca in the CL where he was the best player on the pitch, outshining the likes of Messi, Iniesta and co in the process while his co City midfielders (Yaya & Fernandinho) were utter dross in that match. It was a pity that Dzeko missed the countless of chances he created. And yes, he played in the centre in that match.
People kept shouting Iniesta praise due to his performance against a woeful Czech team but what did he do today? No doubt he's a fantastic player but he's never a player that controls the midfield which brings me back to Barca's CL final against Juve. Pirlo at that age simply outclassed him in the midfield but the moment Xavi came on, there was major change seen in Barca midfield.

DeGea was woeful today. First he was dispossessed when he received a back pass. Second, in my opinion, he could have done something about the equalizing goal. Third which is the worst, he left a wide space in his near post to concede a late goal. He appeared to have single handedly set up a big crash between Spain and Italy.

Manchester United have made an improved bid of £28m for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to land Mkhitaryan and has upped the ante in the battle for his services.

United had an offer of around £18m rejected by the German club following the end of the Premier League season.

But executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has spoken to Mourinho about the attacking midfielder and decided to return with a second bid.

Sources close to the on-going negotiations reckon United are confident of making him their second major signing of the summer.
