First of all you need to know what topic are good at and you are very interested in it. Niche that can attract nigerian audience include entertainment, politics, personal finance, jobs, relationship, inspiration, news, education, technology, etc you can even start a blog on just Apple products but you must have interest in Apple products and be willing to spend money buy and reviewing such products.

You should also note that there are some niche blogs that people visit only when they are searching for information, they wont visit your blog again once they get such information.




Entertainment and news bligs are even already oversaturated but that doesnt mean people are not making it from such blogs, the main thing is you might never be an authority in that niche.

There is a limit, and it depends. For Akaahan Terungwa of NotoPoverty.Info , his article are usually long and very informative| personally for me, i don't make it too short (not having meaning) and too long (which might cause boredom)

On the second point, becoming a writer is not mandatory when starting a blog. there are lots of other ways one could get genuine, original content and still succeed at blogging. I agree, knowing how to write helps. It's just not a make or break factor.

Wordpress and blogger are not the only platforms, but seriously, when it comes to blogging, look no further than blogger (free blog) or wordpress (self-hosted blog). The two stand head and shoulder above any other platform out there. I use wordpress for my blog (signature link) and I don't think any other CMS measures.

I totally agree on the fourth point. To succeed at long term profitable blogging, stay away from black hat. very important. Do everything by the book.

#2 - You mean like entertainment niche, or copying from another website and modifying it to yours?

#3 - Blogger and Wordpress stand head to shoulder though but that doesn't mean people don't use other platform. Just that those platforms are not so that known to us for Naija

it has indeed saturated it and thats why people who go into with wrong mindset gave up very early. 1000 people might starts today, check back 2years later and you'll hardly find 500!
Blogging and entrepreneurship doesn't relates, there is only ONE thing that can makes a blogger regards him/herself as an entrepreneur
