cluster munition like culster-bombs or projectiles is not a new thing. First used by Germany in WWII ,there have been some report by International Organization many counties all over the world have them.In Africa there is not an exception.Even a trainer like Karakorum 8 (K-8) can carry some BL-755 cluster bomb. It has became "poor man's weapon of mass destruction"

However, Cluster munitions are prohibited for those nations that ratify the Convention on Cluster Munitions, adopted in Dublin, Ireland in May 2008. The Convention entered into force and became "binding international law "upon ratifying states on 1 August 2010, six months after being ratified by 30 states. As of 1 October 2015, a total of 118 states have joined the Convention, as 98 States parties and 20 Signatories.

lol
i was obliviously not talking about cluster weapons.

i was talking about adaptation of ahead ammunition for use against ground targets.

You are talking about ahead ammunition with sub projectiles . Then how many AHEAD ammunition you counted ? Are sub projectiles not cluster munition? Must I not talking about cluster munition? You said :“i was wondering can the AHEAD ammunition be adapted for ground use by helicopters and land based vehicles.” What's the matter if I say nothing about ahead ammunition since somebody already reply to you.

Another well packaged report. My God, the Nigerian Air Force simply loves those ATR-42s, i mean, one wonders what the Air Force would do without them.

The AHEAD ammunition contains tungsten pellets.

The pellets aren't explosive.

i was wondering can the AHEAD ammunition be adapted for ground use by helicopters and land based vehicles to take out ground targets.

each projectile carries 152 sub projectiles and in air burst mode will totally create a 100 % no escape zone.

the burst of each AHEAD round covers several square feet it seems, so any massed attacks, even distributed attacks like the ones carried out by BH ISIS and al shabab can be defeated even against great odds.

thousands of sub projectiles raining down on the targets like above even in highly dispersed state will take out everything including cockroaches and moles in that area grin
and how many rounds u will need to fire not more than 10-20 . only priority will be to aim in the general direction (low accuracy wont matter much here due to area effect ) of the target area which needs to be sanitized .

especially will be effective at the hands of defenders or first incident responders to blunt and decimate any large scale offensive intrusion by a superior and numerically larger force.

the land attack ahead ammunition will be cheaper , and considering the anticipated way higher kill capacity and lesser rounds required the extra cost will be easily justified.

152*10=1520 sub projectiles in 10 rounds only and dont need to fire 1520 rounds lol shocked

a good prospective anti terrorist weapon.

Flechette rockets(rockets filled with nails) are mostly what is used when attacking a cluster of enemy positions

Qatar and Nigeria have become the latest buyers of the Super Mushshak basic trainer produced by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at Kamra. Pakistan media reported the number sold to Nigeria as 10 but did not disclose the quantity for Qatar. Other countries that have been listed as customers are Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia and South Afric
PAC developed the Mushshak from the original MFI-17 designed by Saab in Sweden. The Super Mushshak features a more powerful Textron Lycoming IO-540 engine and powered controls. PAC’s other main potential export is the JF-17 Thunder combat aircraft that is produced in a joint venture with China. Nigeria is now confirmed as a buyer of an initial three aircraft, following the sale reported earlier this year to Myanmar. Sri Lanka is an unconfirmed customer for eight JF-17s. Delegations from all these countries have visited Kamra in recent months. Others have come from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Senegal and Zimbabwe. PAC officials last year described a series of proposed developments and improvements to the JF-17, including an AESA radar and a two-seat version.
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by lionel4power(m): 12:14am On Jul 02, 2016
Further exports of the Sino-Pakistan JF-17
“Thunder” combat aircraft have been
reported, following an initial sale last year,
which is now known to be 16 aircraft for
Myanmar. According to Pakistan's President
Mamnoon Hussain, Azerbaijan and Nigeria are
both interested. But a proposed sale to Sri
Lanka has been opposed by India, according to
unconfirmed reports.
A Nigerian newspaper reported that the
country’s 2016 defense budget includes funds
for the acquisition of three JF-17s, as well as
10 Super Mushshak basic trainers that are
also produced by the Pakistan Aeronautical
Complex (PAC). The JF-17 is a joint project
between PAC and the Chengdu Aircraft
Industry Corporation. The Nigerian air force
currently flies Chengdu F-7 fighters and uses
armed Alpha Jet trainers in operations against
domestic insurgents, as well as Mi-17SH,
Mi-24V and Mi-35P attack helicopters. But a
senior NAF officer told The Fighter Conference
organized by Defence IQ in London last
November that the service wants to replace
the Alpha Jets soon.

Speculation that the Sri Lankan Air Force
(SLAF) would become a customer was
prompted by a visit to Pakistan last November
by the SLAF commander, followed by a trip to
Sri Lanka by the Pakistani prime minister early
this month, when the deal was expected to be
sealed. But according to India’s Sunday
Express newspaper, Sri Lanka’s plan to buy
eight to 12 JF-17s was strongly opposed by
India. The SLAF currently operates Chengdu
F-7s, as well as IAI Kfir and MiG-27
jet fighters.
All JF-17s are assembled in Pakistan, but
China retains around 40 percent of thep
total workshare. After initially receiving 50
Block 1 versions, the Pakistan air force is
taking delivery of 50 Block 2s. A Block 3
version with a new radar and internal targeting
pod is planned, and a two-seat version is due
to fly in China late this year.

my conclusion is this helicopter wide angle view does clearly show the destruction below as several helicopters gunship can be seen below orbiting and spewing their firepower on the ISIS convoy as some are now even on foot
