Gurus in the house, what can she do to come back to Nigeria.
She was given a 2 years working visa with promise of accommodation and 55k salary as house help. getting to Oman she was moved to another remote part of the country where she was told that her salary now will be 22k. she called me yesterday and was crying profusely. Please what can I do to bring her back.

how will she do that, work visa only comes with one way ticket. she was told that her salary will be paid into an account open for her by her employer. she won't be able to withdraw from this account until after her contract expires.

I decided to share this in order to get info on what to do and also to warn intending traveller to that part of the world. All that glitters are not gold

It could be worse
They are know for whipping female house servants, often to death.
Recently there have been cases of hands being cut off as well.

She ignorantly pushed herself into advance slavery by looking for greeners pasture, within these two years she will see hell ranging from molestation & others. Who assisted her in securing the visa? the person should be able to get her back or go through diplomatic means by writing a complain to the minister of foreign affairs in order to repatriate her.

i think that's Tanzania, ask Tanzanians since most Nigerians wont have a clue.
Re: The Oman Dilemma by Pidggin(f): 12:42am On Oct 21, 2015
She should find her way to Nigerian Embassy and let them know her situation. So many people here in Nigeria are looking for nannies and are ready to part with about 30K to 40K with other pecks, but she rather preferred to go to a rasist country like Oman. Another solution is for you to raise money and send it to her for so she can pay for her flight back home.

Did they conduct interview with you through Skype ? How long did it take from when you applied and when the visa was being sent to you?

It is more of could be lonely to women than not favourable. Could be better though if u live in d big cities with sizeable number of Nigerians. In the case of Oman u have to b in Muscat.

This is an old post, sorry saw it late. If you are already in Oman u will realize that anything less than 600 Omani rial [540,000 Naira] is not good enough talkless of 260 Omani rial. If u are still in Nigeria or moved elsewhere, good you didn't take the offer. The gulf countries are only suitable for professionals and most of them work as University lecturers, Hospitals and the Oil sector.
