Employers don't want to hear opt work permit, which makes OPT a waste of time. Actually it's more of time for one to think of what to do next and to remain legal in US rather than a period of getting jobs. People should know that foreigner is foreigner. An international student is a foreigner, Americans weigh this well when it comes to hiring anyone. The only field that I've see foreigners getting instant jobs within a month of graduation is nursing and other lucrative healthcare courses. But I don't know if those without green card benefit the same way or not. Also I won't recommend wasting money on healthcare if one knows nothing about chemistry, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology etc or simply lazy to study. Tuition for healthcare fields is expensive.
You're right. But IMO, OPT is not a total waste of time. You're gonna search harder and encounter a lot of rejections while on OPT, but you'll still get jobs on OPT and if you're STEM that gives you 3 years to get that coverted American work experience. In many situations, plenty of emoloyers will file for you if you prove to be a valuable employee. I know about three or four people who got H1B filed for them immediately they were hired on OPT. Some top guys at my work yesterday were even telling me that the company will file for me if I needed it and that they've filed for countless of people (I did not even ask or approach them to file for me before he started saying that o).

But you're right, as a foreigner you have to work twice or thrice as hard to even land a job. The hustle is real.

Why this in bold? I've seen some sorts of words like that on some Nigerians' facebook page before, so I begin to think I'm left out of reality.

naaa...like i said earlier...the conditional admission is like a general condition for all graduate school in the us..that states that u must achieve gpa of 3.0 and above...
i had such conditional i20...its no biggie in y school.....

some schools like troy uni conditions can be that you have to take prerequisite courses beffore full admision....but my school gives u the full admision on the condition that u get a minimum 3.0 gpa to continue

@sureb0y,

The best place an international student can get hospitality is on campus, when still a newcomer or with the old people. Get out of this, the reality will touch you.

We boarded one small lane like that about 5:45am and by 6::30am, we bid goodbye to Naija.
I slept throughout the 4 hours journey cos i was so weak. No inflight entertainment, the food was just snacks.

Naso some people dey swear for our politicians o cos Casablanca airport beat all Naija airport and thats not even Maroc's main airport o.
Inside the plane, one arab woman wey no sabi speak english sat on my seat, i had to make do with another seat flanked by one fine ghanian girl.
The plane took off about 4:30 local time and off we go to Amelika. I hardly finished the movie seff,I'm not the film type. I slept lie a baby inside the plane. We were given chicken ,potatoes,yoghurt, chocolate and bread but i didnt take the chocolate.
