Did you mean you lost your JOB last year? Well, the tricycle business is a good initiative for survival in the current economic situation. However, this cannot fetch you enough funds to support your application. The embassy wants to see some viable ties to your home country, like marriage(you've not perfected this, based on your explanation), job, property, financial and legal status, etc and I doubt if you fit in any of the aforementioned. Please I'm not discouraging you, just trying to be frank. When your status improves, you may apply and please before that time, have your marriage documents perfected, this is very important and if you're a skilled worker, seeking to migrate to Canada, you can start the processing now under a federal skilled worker program. Please visit the CIC website for details or , go here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp . Please post your comments here and I and other members will be glad to reply you. The whatsapp contact info won't be necessary. This is an open forum where we all share ideas, for free. All the best.

Thanks for the response.. For the marriage I will make sure I make amend.. Am skilled worker as well.. I repaired mobile phone and an electrician.. How can I start.. Pls let me know asap..

You cannot relocate to Canada via a TRV or a visit visa though some people risk it. A better option is work permit visa, which grants you a temporary resident status. However in almost cases, a job offer is required in order to obtain a Canada work permit. A job offer can also help you obtain Canadian permanent residence, through an Arranged Employment Opinion(AEO). In case you wish to migrate via skilled worker program, it's now done through what is called express entry a it's now 100% online-based, unlike before(Jan. 2015 downward). Please visit this link for details http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/offer.asp

That's a sad story. From, all you've just said it is possible a fake visa was stamped on your passport.

However, since you submitted the application by yourself and captured your biometrics it's important to find out what happened to your original application.

Going forward, do you have your application number or any communication between you and CIC or VFS? Like Sms, emails, etc.

This is saddening. Please ensure you apply for your visa yourself in your next attempt. It's not rocket science. If you have the required documents for the category of visa you're applying for, you could be issued one on a virgin passport and if you're refused, you'd know where and how you missed it and try to avoid such mistakes in your next application. Let me tell you a short story for this purpose... In 2004, my close friend applied for a US visa and was refused, on his first application. I asked why he was refused an he said the VO asked for a bank statement which he did not have at the time of the interview. The VO also asked for his ID which he could not produce. He arranged his documents by himself I was always going to a cyber cafe after work, with him as internet was mainly restricted to cyber cafes and a few companies in those days so, we booked a system for a night browsing as usual. He was the computer guru while I was just learning. He printed all his visa documents that night ,alongside his visa application forms. He did not go to work the following day and headed to US Embassy for early morning appointment. I felt bad as he said he was refused due to the aforementioned reasons and I learned from his mistakes when it was my turn to apply. I went to meet my uncle working in a bank at that time for help and he called one of his loyal customers to assist me and act as my sponsor. The man agreed and gave me the assistance I needed, including his bank statement. I went to the embassy with a virgin passport. On seeing the VO, I was expecting him to ask me for a bank statement as I was ready for him...I had learned from my friend's mistakes. After he asked for the Invite and I gave it to him, I was about giving him the bank statement in a hurry when he did not even ask for it... he said ''please hold on, when I need it, I will ask you for it'' . Fortunately, I did not spend up to 5 minutes before this man when he gave me a tally, asking me to come a few days later for my visa. He did not even ask for the bank statement eventually.....I was given 3 months single entry, unlike now that they are issuing 2 years multiple like pure water. My friend was not happy but i encouraged him to reapply . I thanked him because I learned from his mistakes. He reapplied and was also issued 3 months single entry. We both traveled to NY for the conference we both registered for, in Nov 2004. The moral of my story is...Never engage any agent to process your visa for you. You can do it yourself. Nobody ever taught me and my friend how to go about it. We woke up one day and said we wanted to travel and we pursued our dream to actualization. While others would be spending the whole night chatting on yahoo messenger with oyinbo at the cyber cafe, we would be busy searching for visa information. Today, the rest is history and I thank God for that. The information you need is free and available on the internet if you're not lazy. Thank God for NL. Every visa information you need is available here on NL. American Embassy also has a thread on NL and I hope CIC will follow suit soon. I wish there was NL in 2004, maybe my friend would have also learned a lot here before applying and wasting his 100USD the first time( which was 12k at that time). Stop patronising miscreants . Funny enough, many of them are not as knowledgeable as you are. Ignore anybody asking you for money to process your visa for you. You can DIY. Good luck!

@Awelekiti , you have done justice to this thread.

As you rightly said many of these miscreants have not even been to the airport before and just dish out wrong counsel and many times encourage you to fake documents.

I beg you guys in God's name don't fake documents cos you need a visa.

Someone very close to me got a permanent ban to all Schengen countries cos of these miscreants who arranged fake documents for him.

I'll advise you wait till the end. No need to panic. Canadian visa in Nigeria takes quite a long time to process with the longest waiting time in the whole world cos the record has shown. I really don't understand why because the situation wasn't like this, year's back before vfs came on board. Even if your mission in Canada is past by the time CIC is done with your applications, it doesn't stop them from issuing you a visa, if you deserve one...That's Canada for you. So, wait. Wow....sorry about that. You can check the VFS website for current visa fees. I suppose they charge based on dollar rate.

Are you a first timer? I think you should provide more details about your application so that people can help with analysis.

You can send a new application at any time, unless your decision letter says otherwise.

What most applicants whose applications have been refused don’t realize is that behind these decisions are additional, often very detailed reasons that aren’t provided in the refusal letter. Although this may seem unfair to applicants, the Federal Court of Canada has consistently ruled that there is no requirement for CIC to provide the detailed reasons for refusal in its refusal letters.

There are several ways for an applicant whose visa has been refused to obtain CIC's detailed, refusal reasons. If the applicant is outside Canada, then he or she can file an Access to Information request through a representative.

Since you have travel history you should find out why you were refused before applying again.

Was the 3m balance you mentioned a CREDIT or DEBIT balance on your account? Did you submit an Invitation from canada with your application? In my candid opinion, if the statement indicated 3M credit balance and the account was yours(that is, in your Company's name), you do not need any sponsor in this case. With what I observed, the statement of account of the sponsor appears quite smaller than what you presented. Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying you cannot also get a sponsor to back you up with his documents but his/her statement of account is expected be heavier than yours. In most cases, an applicant needs a sponsor because he/she does not have sufficient funds to support his/her stay abroad. But in a situation where the sponsor's bank balance is much lower than that of the applicant, it's not good enough. Travel history is not just the reason for the refusal , there could be much more to that, which the CIC reserves the right to hide. I have heard of applicants who got their TRVs in their first attempt and on virgin passports . Try and reapply and ensure the CREDIT balance is up to 3m. In addition to this, run a salary account for yourself for a minimum of 3 months. The CIC wants to note down some factors that will tie you to your home country, show how responsible/accountable you are as a business owner or as self-employed and compel you to return home after your mission in canada. The salary account could be either saving or current but opened in your persona name. From your company's account, do a min. transfer of 300k monthly( within last week of every month) and tag it 'SALARY FOR THE MONTH OF XYZ' To do this,go to the bank, fill a transfer form and include this under the purpose of payment/transfer to show it's for salary. You will then withdraw same 3 times within the interval of 2 days from same salary account like 120k, 80k and 100k( 300k in total). Then pay it back into your current account and name it....payment for supply of ABC, by XYZ Nigeria Ltd( if you're into supply or selling for instance). At the end of 3 months, you will be amazed how your account would look like and please before you request a bank statement of your salary account, ensure you have a min of credit bal of 300k in it. The account could be NIL in balance though, since it's a salary account but just leave the sum there as balance before you apply for the statement. This is a legitimate practice. It's still your money after all. Oyinbos believe much in documentation procedures (genuine documents ONLY). In addition to this, please do an itinerary of your trip.Documentation for the purpose of visa must not be done in a hurry. If you would heed my advice, do this and reapply after 3 months. All the best!

I didn't want to bring up finances since it wasn't mentioned in the refusal letter but Awelekiti is right on the money. Also having a sponsor doesn't always work no matter how much he has in his account. It's mostly all about YOU and how you can prove strong ties. It's not advisable to use company account for vacation/visit visa application because it doesn't present you as serious business person. Money for business should be for business and money for flexing should be for flexing.

One more thing, all visa applicants should note is that the Naira has lost its value. Your 3m naira is actually worth roughly about 1.5m according to international standards. So we should always keep the exchange rate in mind when applying to any country. Checking through Nairaland, I've provided links below to serve as a GUIDE only, for prospective visa applicants. Please kindly tailor the GUIDE to CIC requirements. Best of Luck.

@ Awelekiti and other kind hearted folks,

Thanks for all the info you guys put up esp for newbees' like me. I need guidance on the online application and paper route for a canadian visit visa. I'm more inclined toward using the paper route from peoples' past experiences but have no idea on how to start and what's required. Will I still be required to create an online application or I just download those forms and fill and take to the vfs office.

Will I be required to book for an appointment at the visa office or it's a walk in situation depending when I'm going for my bio-metrics?

Hmmm, I started applying on line but decided to go through the forum and I need help now

Thanks.

Hello, every applicant reserves the right to choose whichever route considered most convenient, for the reason best known to them. But in my opinion, you may go for paper route cos it seems faster these days, based on NL members' experiences in recent times. The most recent proof was the case of olumix36, who applied via paper route in the first week of July and got a text for collection 2 days ago whereas, there are many active NL members in this forum who had applied much earlier via online route but still waiting and counting days. If you apply via paper route, you will have your biometrics taken same day. But if your programme is taking place in 3 months' time, or you're likely to travel anytime soon, I'd suggest you go for online route because you'd definitely need your passport for the latter. You can have relevant forms downloaded on the CIC website. The visa document checklist is also available there to guide you on the documents you might need, depending on the category of visa you're applying for. You may also read this thread from the beginning for further guide.

All the best!

thank you so much awelekiti, i think i understand where the fault came from, actually i thought the letter and the statement of account of my partner will indicate a strong tie and a good character. i will do as you said. kudos boss.

thank you, God will never dull you.

Thanks. Still on the matter using the paper method, let's say after payment of fees do I have to book a day with vsf or It's a walk in process? I couldn't get that info on the web page. Please bear with me. I'm not conversant with this. Thanks
