If you investigate I am sure most of the people shouting abomination on this thread are still the same people who will sleep in Church and condemn others for being sinners

If you claim that she has committed a sacrilege then you are an Idol worshipper and God will punish you if you use the same mouth to condemn others who sin. You cannot serve two masters, either you choose to obey the gods of your ancestors and abide by their laws or you follow Christ and abide by His laws.

Money does almost everything or how else can one xplain the reason behind the involvement of notable Igbo personalities like the igwe of Akili ozizo (a custodian of tradition),Hon.Anyim Puis Anyim,Arch.bishop V.Okeke,61 catholic priests,3 Anglican priests etc in such abominable act.As for the one who called himself a bastard because of his mother's billions, the of reckoning is coming when like in Nollywood films he would be reminded that he is not a native of Akili Oziza, and as such prevented from aspiring to any position of authority.

When did the man became a sperm donor?

Years after being married and having over 3 children?

And who was Joseph' father? Was he a sperm donor or widower who raised Joseph and his brother single handedly? People like you were the ones who made those sexist customs that you uphold. Talking rubbish and thinks he is intelligent

If their traditional marriage involves paying respect to the gods of their land by pouring libation or acknowledging idols, yes they are.

Which was all lies as refuted by his father here.

The man has been begging Oduah to return the children.

The female daughter is in his house. How come she regard and recognize the father while the idiotic son that wrote the thrash didn't.

Did you read on this passage where the man said the dead son was reaching out to him and even visited before his death?

Tradition is a part of culture. A systematic laid down procedure that is uniform to a community but might be different to another.

Custom : is a laid down rule or regulation governing a society irrespective of it traditional believe system peculiar to units.

Stella Oduah was married TRADITIONALLY to her Ishekiri husband. The igbos and the Ishekiri might have their traditional differences but it is CUSTOMARY for she to bury her son in the father's compound cos if she doesn't, the ex husband will sue her in a CUSTOMARY COURT OF LAW and seek redress

You are really confused. Are you just seeking attention? Where did you read that the boy's dad is from Igbo? The reason you chose Ebonyi as the only state in Igboland that is polygamous, is surprising. Customarily, all Ndigbo communities are polygamous in nature. And thats why in this letter the dad wrote to him, he recognized the fact that "His Royal Highness, Igwe Oduah 1 of blessed memory had many wives too..." Was Igwe Oduah from Ebonyi State?

So your believe that "Ebonyians are the only igbos who are polygamous" is not only erroneous but it casts a big question mark on your sensibility.
Don't you think you are harsh? The guy said what was his opinion .... was not sure if it is correct... asked to be properly educated on the matter since he is willing to learn....and this is your response? I think you really owe him an apology.
@topic...Stella is a public figure.... her life is open to public scrutiny. ..including that of her son's demise. This is about her being a big girl...bigger than her culture. It needs to be aired out in public. Hmmm..... I wonder what was the price she paid for ones to bury the guy knowing that they were participating in an abomination? This kind stuff have serious repercussions. ..that can last for generations.

Dowry is like a seed money. Only parents of a bride know about it and accept.

A groom do not only pay bride price, there are certain rituals /obligations done to the kins men, and community. That's the real deal and those things are not refunded back cos it is regarded a taboo.

So when a man collect back his bride price, he is still entitled to the spoil of that marriage while it last cos the community that gathered and gave him their daughter have not and cannot gather again to return their rights They've accepted.

Hian, I thought bride price was the koko Na. That, When a man takes it back, he has given up his rights and duty and has nothing more to do with the woman and her kids. Just a question, Can the woman whose bride price has been returned go meet the man for the upkeep of the kids?

You still dwell on this achaique beleif;the world has moved on.Anyone who claims his maternity can still attain any political position he/she wants to;Its all about determination.Money has a lot to do if you don't know.Even if you're well known in your home town and you don't have the money your kinsmen will reject you openly... this issue of paternity this, maternity that purges me a lot..An Igbo was appointed as a commissioner in a western state and no dust was raised..

I only have to blame the family for bringing confidential matters to public notice; This shows they are morally deranged and not fit to be called parents..

In the old when a man pay your bride price and marriage ends, children are left with the father cos it is adjudged children belongs to him.

Nowadays women runs away with children. So if that's the case, yes. The ex husband is still responsible for the upkeep but independent women out of hatred block the man from providing and handle everything just like Stella Oduah case

Hmn, okay. But I understand why moms try to leave with their kids sha. Not every broken marriage has to do with mom being bad. Sometimes the men are the cause.and we can't blame a woman for leaving an abusive home if she could afford it plus taking her kids from the toxic home. But spoiling dad in front of kids is a no no for me ESP if dad was neutral with the kids and not abusive in any way towards them.
Thanks for clearing the Igbo marriage culture with me.

Igbo culture and tradition though well structured can be complicated. What you said will only hold truth if the father disowned him but that doesn't seem to be the case as he was still answering his father's name until his death.

We need interpreters of Igbo powerful tradition please.

Stella made a serious mistake which is forbidden in Igbo culture. With death all hassles are relaxed until after burial. The two families are supposed to meet and discuss the calamity that befell them. In Igbo culture an offspring dying before the parents is a taboo and required going to "Afa" priest who sees beyond physical realm to enquire from the gods and appease them after which a burial is planned with consent of both parties. In some parts of Igboland it is forbidden for the father to see the son's corpse so he will just be present but indoors to accept condolences called "Mgbaru" until the ceremony is completed.
