Hello bro.

I take it this is the original Audi V8 D11, that preceded the Audi A8? Engine code ABH. This is indeed a rare beast.

When you state the engine cranks, but doesn't fire, does it actually fire, run for about a second, then die? Are there any warning lights on the dash?

Do you have any other keys for the car?

Yes, bro. It is that very beast of a machine. So it's doubly sad that it's lying there so helplessly now.

It cranks but doesn't fire as usual. However, when fuel is introduced into the 'injector mouth' (that's the mechanic's term), the car fires and starts, runs for about 15 secs or so and shuts down. It doesn't start except the process is repeated.

Trouble started when the key stopped working in the ignition switch altogether. In other words, it was literally running freely in the ignition switch, and not selecting any of the ignition positions. We changed the ignition switch and the key too, as a result. And then all the above became the order of the day.

The mechanic says "the car has entered code." I can't make sense of that jargon. Hence this cry of help.

Oga Siena plz help. I did a complete overhaul on a vw 1.9td engine,... now it fries and cuts alternator belt. I av changed the alternator pulley and bearing but the problem is still there. I was about to take it to the mechanic that did overhaul.

On my way to his work shop, i witnessed some noise (knock-knock) and the engine went dead. I tried starting it no way, there's diesel , battery is ok. The starter motor makes some click but doesn't turn.

When the starter motor was removed from the engine, it ran fine. Put it back on the engine, same click sound again.

Tried pushing the car to start to no avail. Oil is ok. My fear is the noise i heard, i hope the engine is not blown.

Mr Sienna,

Good day sir. Kindly add me to your VW whatsapp group or bbm. 08030682593/ 24CD4596.

I drive a Passat 2.0 FSI, which recently has been consuming a lot of engine oil and brings out blue/ash smoke from exhaust occasionally . I use Mobil 1 engine oil. Please kindly advise on what steps I should take to permanently rectify the problem.

Regards.

I would be looking at the timing belt. It's possibly snapped, ripped teeth off, or it's jumped teeth due to a faulty tensioner / idler, or incorrect installation.

We're the timing components renewed? What did the overhaul include?

All that needed was replacement of the ignition switch, which is available as a separate part. Your mechanic did not need to replace the ignition lock and key.

Looks like you now have an immobiliser issue.

Yes the timing components were renewed. The mechanic guy said its timing. He will take care of it this morning.
I bought a full tank of diesel a day before this incident, and when this problem arose, i found out that the diesel smell of kerosene unlike the ussual diesel odour.

This one is lighter in color. I can specifically say that its kerosene mixed with some unknown fluid (naija no go kill me).

Can this pose a problem?

Hi guys,

I didnt know there was a Golf thread here.

I have a golf4 that Ive spent much on, now I decided to park it.

The major issues are:

1) overheating - at any small distance.

2) sometimes, "the car just dies, while in motion" - thats how I can describe it.

I could be driving and suddenly discover that the engine has died car just rolling on - as in pressing the accelerator doesn't do anything anymore. Only the brake works.. Ill have to quickly adjust my gears, turn off and on the ignition. This doesnt happen often, but the car gives no warning signals before it does.

Pls add me to your whatsapp: 08055401551

regards
HK
Re: The Audi And Volkswagen Issues Resolution Thread by KolaShangOne(m): 1:18pm On Sep 11, 2016
@hostkobo over_heating is basically due to your car cooling system not cooling the engine as it should. German engines generate alot of heat quite quickly that's why it only goes a short distance before going off.
Check radiator, fans etc..

Your car turns off in motion could even be transmission issues If it's revving without moving.

This thread is dead. Siena is like the only Volkswagen, Audi mechanic here and he has left.

Hello sir,
I just purchased a Passat 09 and two mechanic said it was good but while bringing it to Ibadan from abuja it developed some engine problems.
We called the seller and after a lot of fight he said he can't buy new engine but replace the affected parts like crank shaft etc .
My question can my car still function as good with the change of the faulty part.
