It's so easy to criticise ain't it? Oliseh was all over supersports analysing, criticising, suggesting etc but when the shit hit the fan the guy was lost! Mikel deserves kudos for his doggedness and unyielding spirit. He should be commended rather than dismissed with negative words. Granted Mikel is not in Neymar's class but as far as the national team is concerned he has broadened his approach and embraced the responsibility that goes with playing for Nigeria with zeal. In football no matter how fantastic you are playing for your club somehow your contribution to your national team is always the benchmark against which your performance and contribution will ultimately be measured. Ronaldo has won everything as far as club football is concerned ditto Messi but Ronaldo just won Euro with Portugal while Messi is still struggling to stamp his star on the senior trophy chest of Argentina. You know Rigobert Song don't you? You know the country he played for but can you mention off the bat the clubs he played for? Mikel has done well both for club and country.

Mikel earned my respect for contributing financially and physically to help Nigeria win her third Olympic medal in football. He deserves all the accolades for his sportsmanship and dedication to the country.
Like every other managers that has come and gone in Chelsea, John Obi Mikel always end up playing his role when the chips are down. Conte won't be an exception.
Nemanja and Kante can't play consistently throughout the season which means Mikel's time would come. His calmness and obedience has always earned him a place in the Chelsea team. This will continue for as long as he's at Chelsea.
