The above must be from the secondary market.

Either inform your bank that you want to buy from the primary auction which has only 91,182 and 364 days OR

Go ahead to buy from the secondary market. I have seen some nice rates from the SM recently. At least you don't need to hold your breath waiting for the outcome of the auction on auction days.

Account manager haven't spoken to me in months, I bid today for 91days tenor, all of a sudden he now know how best I can use my fund, I just laf and insisted on it

Does it mean dat my discount or interest will b 13/100 *200000 = 26000 naira. Does it mean I wil get 26000 naira interest for 91days. Pls if am wrong soMe1 shuld help me out.thanks

17% is okay or tell the bank to bid for you ....l think the latter option will be better

I was at gtb last Wed for treasury bills and I was just told to write a letter and it was scanned and sent to my originating branch.

Since then I've not heard anything from the account officer yet

it seems the interest rate will go higher this time. reports have it that overnight rates got spiked this few days, and according to feelamong overnight rates are indicators of possible movement of t.bills rate. I don't really understand the relationship but based on that observation by feel among. I should assume a higher rate will take place this week

It is not impossible.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 17.9% in September. The overnight interbank lending rate also soared to a record high of 128% on Monday.

With the above statistics, higher rates may be a possibility...

Please is it right to use greater than or equal to when bidding? I bidded for one year with stanbic bank today. I specifically used the symbol greater or equal to 17.5% for the rate I want. Please in this case, what happens if central bank offers something greater than that? Will they pay my interest with the higher prevailing rate or at 17.5% because I used it as my minimum?

lets say for e.g. you went to buy a television and the seller gives you at the price of greater than or equals to 20k, definitely you will go for the least price which is 20k. So bro its good to think smart but also know that they the CBN would love to buy a cheaper market and not a costly one. i hope this explanation from a MICROBIOLOGIST HELPS...smiles
