http://www.soccerassembly.com/tammy-abraham-it-is-possible-i-play-for-nigeria/

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham who is currently on loan at Bristol City, has not ruled out the possibility of representing Nigeria.

The Anglo Nigerian had been tipped to follow Marcus Rashford’s path to England after his two goals for the England U21’s against Bosnia and Herzegovina earlier this month but remains eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents.

Now the current EFL Player of the Month himself has come out to confirm the possibility of his lining up for the Super Eagles . . .http://www.soccerassembly.com/tammy-abraham-it-is-possible-i-play-for-nigeria/

Representatives of clubs based in Germany, England and Turkey watched the UEFA Youth League clash between FC Midtjylland and R.S.C. Anderlecht on October 19, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.

The Danish champions have stated via official sources that Hertha BSC, Trabzonspor, Chelsea, Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig scouts were present at the MCH Arena to run the rule over the teenagers, without being specific about their primary targets.

FC Midtjylland U19 coach Kenneth Andersen named Ogochukwu Frank in his starting XI and he lasted the distance, while Samson Onomigho was introduced in the 88th minute.

Exciting Winger Adekanye Turns Super Sub For Liverpool After Return From Injury

Netherlands youth international Bobby Adekanye has impressed for Liverpool U18s since his return from a two-month injury layoff .

The exciting winger scored in his first game against Derby County on October 22 after a spell on the sidelines and also notched an assist in the 5-1 win, having come off the bench before the start of the second half.

Adekanye started on the bench again in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Sunderland at the Academy Ground on Saturday, and showed a glimpse of his potential when he came on in the 53rd minute.

Ibadan-born Adekanye underwent a hernia operation in September and this kept him out of the Liverpool squad that tackled Stoke City, Middlesbrough, Everton, Newcastle United and West Brom in the U18 Premier League.

A product of Barcelona, he joined Liverpool in the summer of 2015 from Dutch club PSV.

Nigerian Talent Olomola On The Cusp Of
Breaking Into Southampton First Team

Olufela Olomola, 19, is close to fully earning promotion to the Southampton first team from the development squad, allnigeriasoccer.com
understands.

For the fourth time this season, the young offensive player has made the Saints 18-man squad for a competitive fixture as they prepare to take on Chelsea in the Premier League.

Fela was handed his competitive debut in
Southampton’s 1-0 win over Victor Anichebe’s

the bench against Hapoel Beer Sheva (Europa
League) and Leicester City (Premier League).

The Londoner was first considered for a first team game towards the end of last season when he was a non-playing substitute versus Sunderland in the Premier League.

Olomola was on the books of the academy team
of Arsenal before his shift to St. Mary’s Stadium in 2014.

2015 Nigeria U-17 World Cup Winner For Trials

A member of the Nigeria U-17 World Cup winning team of 2015 is close to joining the rest of his colleagues in moving to Europe to further his career.

Players of the team were hot in demand due to
the all round style which they used to conquer
the world during the 2015 U-17 World Cup in
Chile, with the likes of captain Kelechi Nwakali
and Victor Osimhen moving to Arsenal and
Wolfsburg respectively.

They formed the core of the Nigeria U-20 team

Promising Teen Eze Scores Again For QPR In
Loss To Charlton U23s

Charlton Athletic U23s continued their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the Professional Development League at the Valley on Monday afternoon.

Though Joe Aribo was not in action for the
Addicks, there was still Nigerian interest in the
game with Ebere Eze starting for QPR, and he
eventually played the full game.

On 28 minutes, Eze equalized for the visitors
when he picked up a loose ball before volleying
past goalkeeper Phillips, and would have put his
team 2-1 up in the 58th minute but saw his free-kick go wide.

The attacking midfielder penned a one-year
contract with Queens Park Rangers in the
summer after he was declared surplus to
requirement by Millwall at the end of last season.

Ebere Eze has developed at QPR and will be
hoping to follow in the footsteps of Olamide
Shodipo by playing for the first team of the
London club.

Ovie Ejaria called up to England U-20s Squad for November, set to play Nigeria

Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria has kept his
place in the England Under-20s squad for
the upcoming November international
break.

The 18-year-old earned his first call-up in October,
making his debut for the Young Lions in a 3-1 win
over the Germany Under-20s in Huddersfield.

Ejaria assisted a strike for Charlton Athletic
forward Ademola Lookman that day, before
scoring in his next appearance against the United
States Under-20s.

This clearly impressed manager Paul Williams,
who has named Ejaria in his squad to travel to
South Korea this month.

The U20s will play Nigeria (November 9), South
Korea (November 10) and Iran (November 12) to
contest for the Continental Cup, to be held at
South Korea’s World Cup Stadium in Suwan.

Turning out against the Super Eagles will be a
significant moment for Ejaria, having previously
pledged his allegiance to Nigeria, due to his
heritage.

Young Arsenal Defender Torn Between Playing For England And Nigeria Says Iwobi Is An Inspiration

Fast rising Arsenal defender Joseph Olowu says he is yet to make up his mind as to which nation he will represent between England and Nigeria at international level, as he approaches a crucial
phase in his career.

The six feet centre back who joined Arsenal at the age of 13 was born in England to Nigerian
parents, making him eligible for both nations at
international level.

However he is yet to decide on which team he will represent when he is called up by either of the nations, but he made it clear that Nigerian
forward Alex Iwobi has been an inspiration to him.

”My parents are from Nigeria and I am eligible to play for either Nigeria or England. I have not
featured internationally yet but that may come.
Alex Iwobi has really been an inspiration to me
and to my team mate Tobi Omole who I also live
with in digs in Cockfosters” He told Arsenal.com

“He came through the Arsenal Youth system and is doing so well. He scored against Zambia in the World Cup qualifiers the other week and his name is growing and growing in African football. My dad has also noticed that there is a lot of attention being given to Toby and I in the African football forums which must in part also be due to how well Alex has been doing.”

EXCLUSIVE: Boavista Beat SC Braga To Signing Of “Nigerian Benzema”, Invites Another Nigerian For Trial

Portuguese top division side Boavista have won
the race for the signature of highly rated 18 year old Nigerian forward Taofiq Jibril, popularly called “Nigerian Benzema”.

Taofiq was invited by SC Braga for trials as
exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com on
the 19th of September, but while they were
pondering on offering him a deal, Boavista
stepped in and offered him one after trials.

Boavista have agreed a deal in principle with his
owners for a three year deal, which will be made
official in January, after his fine performances
during a period of trials with the club.

A late omission from the Nigerian team that
conquered the world at the World Youth
Championship in 2015, he will be hoping to
better the records of the Nigerian trio of Rueben
Gabriel, Uche Nwofor and Michael Uchebo who
were all released by the club in the summer.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian has arrived Portugal in person of 18 year old Okolie Kenechukwu Charles, and will undergo trials in the coming weeks before a decision will be made on his possible signing.

Just like Taofiq, Charles was spotted and groomed by popular and fast rising Kaduna based coach Chuba Shedrack, who played for the likes of Plateau United and Kaduna United during his playing days.

EXCLUSIVE: FC Porto Submits Ex Spurs
Trainee Musa Yahaya For UEFA Champions League Youth Registration

Portuguese giants FC Porto have formally applied to UEFA for Musa Yahaya to be registered for the UEFA Youth League, when the second stanza gets underway next year.

Rated as one of the best teen prospects in Nigeria alongside the likes of Iheanacho and co after conquering the world at U-17 level in 2013, he trained with English giants Tottenham Hotspurs before heading out on loan to Portimonense.

After spending six months at Portimonense, he
was traded by Spurs to Portuguese side FC Porto, where he has been since the summer but still waiting for his first game with the club.

However, while his first team debut might take a while, he will most likely play for the B team in the UEFA youth league going by reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.

The 19 year old was at the embassy for his visa,
which will enable travel with the team to all of
their games in the tournament.

”Yahaya is a part of the first team of FC Porto. He trains regularly with them that is why he is not playing for the B team in the lower league but he will represent them in the UEFA Youth League” a source close to the player told
Owngoalnigeria.com.

”He went to the embassy few days ago to get his visa, he will definitely play for the team this

NFF DEFEND EAGLETS SUWON TOURNAMENT
INCLUSION

The Nigeria Football Federation has explained why it decided that the U-17 National Team, Golden Eaglets, participate in the forthcoming 2016 U-19 Suwon Continental Cup tournament.

General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, told
thenff.com on yesterday that the Federation is
encouraged to sustain the team’s momentum
and prepare it for bigger challenges as a result of the series of examinations done to ascertain the fact they are truly U-17 players.

“Apart from the tests conducted by the NFF,
there was a medical team from CAF that
subjected the players to another thorough
examination. We are very sure the boys are U17
players and we must do everything to prepare
them for bigger challenges, as they will constitute the next U20 team.

“They showed naivety and a level of innocence in the way they approached the match in Niger
Republic, and that was partly why they were
intimidated out of the African qualifying series.”

Sanusi assured that apart from the Suwon
tournament, the NFF will keep the team busy in
the coming year with a series of invitational
tournaments and friendly matches, to get the
players exposed and more matured for the
qualifying series of 2019 Africa U20 Cup of
Nations.

A team of 22 players and 10 officials of the
Golden Eaglets will depart Nigeria on Monday, 7th November for Korea Republic, for the U-19 Suwon Continental Cup.

The Eaglets are scheduled to take on their
counterparts from England on Wednesday, 9th
November, play Iran the following day and tackle the host team (Korea Rep.) on Saturday, 12th November.

Wonderboy Victor Osimhen Gets Date For
Bundesliga Debut With Wolfsburg

A tentative date when highly rated Nigerian teen striker Victor Osimhen who is on the books of German side Wolfsburg will make his debut has been known according to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.

Osimhen is yet to make his professional bow for
the Bundesliga side, but he gave the fans a taste of what to expect from him with a goal in a
friendly game against Lupo Martin.

The 17 year old will be eligible to play for the
team in competitive games when he clocks 18,
and already the club has made it known that he
will move straight into the first team.

Although Wolfsburg are yet to appoint a
permanent manager to replace Dieter Hecking
who was sacked last month, caretaker coach
Valerin Ismael who is the coach of the reserve
team knows about the abilities of the Nigerian,
after handling him in some sessions.

Based on that, he will most likely make his debut for the team against Hamburg on the 21st of January, in a Bundesliga game which will take place at the Volkswagen Arena. The home ground of Wolfsburg.

Ahead of Nigeria Under-17s participation in the Korea Invitational tournament, Owngoalnigeria.com Ahmed Ishaya list five prospects to watch out for when they take on England and Iran in the friendly tournament.

1. Adebayo Adeleke

Described by coach Manu Garba as the best goalkeeper he has seen at youth level, since he came into the set up in 2005. Adeleke has cat like reflex, firm handling and above can start attack from the back with his near perfect distribution from the back.

2 Igoh Ogbu

Vice captain of the newly assembled Under-17 team of Nigeria. The hard as nail defender is partly the reason why most of their games has ended in a clean sheet for the defence.

Mobile, agile, and strong in tackles, Manu Garba rates him so highly to the extent of comparing him to former U-17 & 20 captain Musa Mohammed.

3. Nazifi Yahaya

Crafty, smart and intelligent, the forward who was plucked from a Kano based academy has attributes in the box above his age. The striker scores at least a goal in two of four sessions since stealing the attention of the coaches in his first training session with the team, when he struck a hattrick.

4. Abdulrazak Isehq

The Unity Academy of Kaduna midfielder is blessed with the rare gift of being able to hit correctly a 40 yard pass with both feet to release other players, neat in possession, enterprising and skillful. He is the one of the livewire of the team.

5. Abduljabar Sani

Named captain of the team few days ago by coach Manu Garba. He is by far the most consistent player since the team was assembled, the G-Smart Academy prospect has the ability to create something out of nothing with his ability to wriggle out of tight situation with ease.

GAME 4-1

Eaglets Class of 2016

Nigeria U19s trounced J1 Academy of Abuja 4-1
in a test game ahead of an invitational

The scoreline ought to have been heavier, but for poor finishing by the team led by coach Manu Garba.

The team are due to fly out to Korea on Monday

MANCHESTER CITY LOANEE NWAKALI
SUFFERS KNEE INJURY

Chidiebere Nwakali

Chidiebere Nwakali, who is on loan to Norwegian club IK Start from Manchester City, has been nursing a minor knee injury for the past three weeks.

“He has suffered a minor knee injury and that is
why he has been sidelined,” a source informed.

After a difficult time at Spanish second-tier league club Girona, the 19-year-old Nigeria midfielder has enjoyed a great run at Start but last featured for the Norwegian strugglers in early October.

He also spent a week back in Nigeria after he was granted a compassionate leave following a family bereavement.

He posted 22 appearances and scored three goals for this season for Start, who are doomed for a return to the second division at the end of this campaign on Sunday.

He has said he hopes to move to a bigger league on another loan deal next season as he aims to soon be considered more seriously by Manchester City.

MANU GARBA BULLISH AFTER NIGERIA U19S
WIN BIG AGAIN

Coach Manu Garba

Coach Manu Garba has saluted his team of Nigeria U19s after they won again 4-1 in another test game ahead of a tourney in Korea.

Manu’s team over the weekend secured an
identical 4-1 win over Jay-1 Soccer Academy of
Abuja and Unity Football Academy of Kaduna,
respectively.

On Friday at the NFF\FIFA Goal Project Pitch,
Usman Babalolo led the Eaglets' rout against
Jay-1 with a first half goal while the trio of Ishaq
Abdulrasak, Igoh Ogbu and Stanley Kanu also got on the score –sheet in the second stanza; with Osas Abiye scoring the consolation goal for the visitors.

In the second match at the same venue on
Saturday, Babalolo and Kanu continued with their rich vein of form with first half goals against Unity Academy.

Bolaji Oyeti and Aminu Abubakar also got on the score–sheet for Eaglets with Hamza Ishaq being the scorer for Unity.

Manu described the performance of his wards
satisfactory, adding that the two matches have
put them in good spirit for the four-nation
tournament to be held in the City of Suwon.

"The most important thing is to get the players in a competitive mood with the two friendly
matches and their response was good despite
some lapses," noted Garba, who incidentally was
assistant coach as the Golden Eaglets class of
2007 finished second at the Korea Invitational
Tournament before they later won the FIFA U17
World Cup Korea 2007.

A team of 22 players and accompany officials of
the Golden Eaglets will depart Nigeria through

Manu Garba Flies Out With Youngest Ever Golden Eaglet Team To Korea After Big Wins In Test Games

The Nigeria U19s have rounded up their training ahead of their trip to Korea, where they are scheduled to take part in an invitational tournament.

Coach Manu Garba and his wards, the youngest ever assembled Nigeria youth team will depart Abuja today for Korea, where they will play England on Wednesday before tackling Iran and host Korea on Thursday and Saturday respectively.

In the build up to the tournament in Korea, the coach selected 22 players after two grueling test games against Jay-1 Soccer Academy of Abuja and Unity Football Academy of Kaduna.

They won both ties with same scoreline 4-1 with Usman Babalolo, Ishaq Abdulrasak, Igoh Ogbu and Stanley Kanu grabbing the goals for the Golden Eaglet against Jay-1 Academy while Osas Abiye scored the consolation for the Abuja based side.

In their final tune up against Unity Academy Babalolo and Kanu were once again on the score sheet with Bolaji Oyeti and Aminu Abubakar completing the rout against the Kaduna based side, although Hamza Ishaq scored a consolation goal to ease the pain on them.

Theophilus Solomon Moves Closer To Top Scorer In Croatia After Latest Goal For Istra

Theophilus Solomon enhanced his burgeoning reputation as one of the feared strikers in the Croatian league when he scored in Istra’s 3-2 win over Ciballa.

The on loan Rijeka forward net his side second goal in the five goal thriller to take his season tally to five goals, two goals behind the present top scorer in the league.

20 year old Solomon has scored in games against Lokomotiva Zagreb, Split, Inter Zapresic with Istra his favourite opponent as he has scored against them in two games this season.

Last season while on loan to second division side NK Sibenik he scored 13 goals as his side narrowly missed out on promotion to the top division in Croatia.

He could leave Istra in January as he is reportedly a top target for several sides in Europe, with Swansea City, Sporting Lisbon and clubs in Belgium and Holland reportedly keen on his services.

Theophilus Solomon was tipped by Manu Garba to break into the Super Eagles before Kelechi Iheanacho.

Hope the guy fulfills his potentials.
I do not expect him to be in that league at this age 20.

I wish his agent throws a search light on a league like Belgium or Italy.

Manu Garba-Led Nigeria U19s Suffer 8-1
Loss To England U20s

The Nigeria U19s suffered the worst ever defeat
by a Nigerian youth team when they were
battered 8-1 by England U20s in their opening
game at the Suwon Continental Cup on
Wednesday morning.

The Young Lions opened scoring against the
Manu Garba-led side in the 19th minute through
Taylor Moore, before a brace from Adam
Armstrong and a Dominic Solanke goal put them 4-0 up, but Nigeria managed to pull a goal back nine minutes before the end of the first half.

Two minutes out of intermission, Callum Connolly and Patrick Roberts registered their names on the scorecard for England U20s to increase the lead to 6-1.

Adam Armstrong bagged his hat-trick in the 70th minute and Roberts scored again with two
minutes remaining to bring the scoreline to 8-1.

Next up for Nigeria in the competition is a game
against Iran before they wrap up group play
against hosts South Korea.

Very good exposure for the young lads. What is most important is the education from this journey.

Very good exposure. grin

Yes u are right. They have been exposed.

This is what happens when u go for an U19 tourney with U16 players.

With all the exposures and experience Solanke, Onomah, Edjaria and co have gotten they are still part of this tourney bc they see it as a "developmental" opportunity and not jst an exposure opportunity.

I always say it that development starts at U19. It is not even about winning the trophy.

This tourney is going to do more harm than good to those boys.

Una say " age does not matter in football". Ok na.

They understand the importance of an U19 team. See the players they paraded. Our own na to expose players.

We should have used this tourney to assess our U20 players since they will not participate in the next WYC. Development starts at U19 & the Europeans know this. They dnt joke with an U19 tourney bc that is where they pick new players for the senior team.
