@Uboma. You are very wrong. Some are still collecting letters for appointments

the Coordinator position ICT started work officially on 01.12.2016.

so are you saying appointment letters are still been distributed for this same position?

if you look again at the first advert WFP released, there is only one position of the Coordinator ICT,

https://www.nairaland.com/3257724/vacant-positions-world-food-programme

And this is the position I earlier said has been concluded.

So tell me, am I still very wrong in my earlier submission?

Feel like I am missing something.
If recruitment has been concluded I was/have not been contacted.
What gives?
Has anybody else not been informed about status?

How do you read? Did you also apply for the position of ICT Coordinator? If yes, then the role has been taken. I don't have information about other positions.

I was commenting based on this post:

pabloaimoh:
All positions have been concluded and some have undergone medicals. I was contacted and told I was on the roaster list. If any of the successful candidate doesn't accept the offer or failed medicals then I would be called in as a replacement.
As for the pay.... Let's not exaggerate... Support staff doesn't earned that high. It's is only National Officers position that earned more than 600k. However, it is too early to start discussing pay when u haven't even been given an offer. I believe one shud apply and pray to be shortlisted first. From then on it's ur effort and God that would see u thru.

Finance associate and I believe admin assistant, and as you said ICT coordinator have been filled.

I have not been contacted about the postiin I applied for. So it kind of makes me wonder whether the position has been filled and whether its best to forget about WFP and move on.

Such outlook would depend on many factors.
Re: WFP (United Nations - UN) recruitment/Interview by chardyni(m): 10:33am On Dec 05, 2016
Its funny that nobody has asked about the interview questions and test questions.

Is it that UN is not a desirable place to work? Is the salary not enough?

In all of Nairaland I believe that this is the third post that has to do with United Nations related career decisions (I may be wrong).

@Chardyni, there is a thread (created by mmb) that such questions were asked but nothing much came out of it.

jabberjawz:

so whats d test/interview questions like....for the role u applied for............where they hands on questions or analytical or case scenario's.........or multiple choice questions?

For the interview, the questions dealt with compotencies eschewed by UN: going above targets, working with less capable persons, drvie for results.

Was asked four questions on theses compotencies. The questions usually had an objective and sub objective.

Example:

1. Tell us a time you had to deal with a change in schedule.
2. Why was it important to communicate with your boss first.
3. What would you change in the process.

The questions test the candidates ability to display the compotence. And the questions, are varied. What one person is asked wont be same with other round of recruitment but would be same within the potential candidates.

For the test, as I had applied for budget assistant, it really paid of that i knew Excel. Questions dealt with graphs and pivottable and demand table.

Well I did not get to see that post when resesrching for the interview and test.

Was luck to have known Excel else would have flunked the test. Simply desire to create a thread for future applicants.

However, no one seems to have any interest. Maybe I will just return to my shell.

Were you invited to their office for the interview or you were interviewed via skype?

For those who have been recruited, do WFP confine applicants to the applicant's station of interest or they deploy at random to their different stations in Nigeria?

It depends if the person is recruited as National staff or international. International would allow any duty station within a country. And also different countries. Goes without saying that pay, for international staff, is dollar linked and very good.

Thanks for the info... I think there will be more communication in this new recruitment.

Candidates that applied for Procurement and Supply positions have been invited for test.

The recruitment seems to be in batches since it is the first time WFP will be kicking off operations in Nigeria.

For those who applied and are yet to receive a 'regret mail' from WFP, be patient and hope for the best.

Hello uboma,

I assume that you are talking about the december recruitment.

About the regret mails, this should roughly be the time people are getting feedback as per the 131 day average time for recruitment. I suspect that some of the recruitment staff have gone on leave. The HR assistant I kept calling has her number switched off.

People should come out from the woodwork and identiyf if undertaken the interview and test of August/September.
