its real o. In fact, they should restrict foreign countries from voting. It needs to be looked into. I don't think we need a rim protecting specialist. Cavs would always out-rebound warriors, especially on the offensive end. Tristan, love and Lebron can always take turns protecting the rim.

Lol. Since other countries watch it, I don't think they shouldnt be allowed to vote.

Lol 13pts in the 4th at home. Its all mental because I don't see how a team this talented keeps freezing in the 4th. Why is Durant so terrible at closing games? It doesn't make no sense

San Antonio can blow out any team. My problem with most teams in the East is they have no heart. Based on talent alone I have said it repeatedly that Toronto have no business being the 2nd seed. We have the serial underachievers (Detroit, Naptown) The accidents we knew were waiting to happen (Chicago, New York)
The good thing with a tougher conference (the upper 3 or 4 teams) is how battle ready you would be by the time you would get to the Finals. The Warriors didn't lose because they had a tougher road to the Finals. They lost cos Steph didn't show up.

On a sidenote. I die a little inside when I see Crowder for the Celtics and remember he was one of those Cuban traded for that locker room cancer and troglodyte Rajon Rondo. And then there is the perma-crock Bogut who can get injured while taking a shyte

I couldnt agree with you less, the quality of the East is really quesy. I mean, how is that the 3rd best team in the West is just a game and half behind the best team in the East even with 3 all stars.
Again, Houston with the 3rd best points difference in the West betters the best scoring team in the East.
I wouldn't even tune in to watch any of the Eastern playoffs, let's just wait for The Cavs in the Finals.

Well the All Star voting, though largely based on court celebrity power (Ofcus I would vote for a player I fancy watching) also tells us alot. Most of the top picks share my sentiments, my only surprise is seeing my one and only Dwayne (d'flash) Wade ahead of Isaiah Thomas. grin grin grin. If a half broken Dwayne Wade can get ahead of Thomas, then It's obvious he wouldn't get a look-in for MVP as some campaigned on here.
I was also surprised to see Carmelo gather so many votes.I guess their wives (Lala & Gabrielle) also influenced the voters.

I have been a follower of this thread for long but this time around, I was tempted to comment!

Is this list for real?
WTF!!!

Zaza Pachulia? How many pro games does Joel Embiid have? Are you kidding me!??!?!?!

those niggas have more votes than:
Kawhi Leonard
Anthony Davis
Draymond Green
DeMarcus Cousins
Karl-Anthony Towns
LaMarcus Aldridge
Blake Griffin
Marc Gasol
The NBA all stars vote is nothing but a popularity vote.
It's kinda pathetic!
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 11:45am On Jan 07, 2017
In the final two minutes of the 4th and overtime this season of a 5-point game,
Durant is now 0-12 in
isolation, two points off free throws.

Unbelievable.

Lool. I was so shocked when i first saw the list, i thought it was fake i search other site to check to confirm the authenticity and found out it was real... Zaza over Cousins and A.davis and karl looool.

Korver happy lowkey he wont get sweep by the Cavs in p/offs like it happened for the past 2seasons. lool

korver is a good pick, just think about when JR gets back HOLY HELL!! , the Cavs already knows who they will be meeting in finals and its obvious the team we got cant beat the Warriors in finals. Now that we copped us a 42.9% 3point shooter. I just hope we get one last thing which is a rim protector, then we're good to go.
JR does nothing for the cavs than to shoot 3s from awkward positions. He was better last season probably because he wanted a bigger contract and he was able to get it thanks to LeBron and his clutch sport crew.
With the arrival of korver,JR should be coming from the bench.
Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 12:06pm On Jan 07, 2017
Wolves and Warriors should play each other soon. I want to know who gets the crown for the greatest choker.

Embiid minutes limitation is hurting this team badly. It really sucks

Wall has proved his mettle this season. I still think he's the most underrated PG in NBA
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 1:22pm On Jan 07, 2017
Re : Warriors choking - It's a good thing afterall, the warriors get to see their weakness and work on it before the playoffs. They're sure to top the western conference and also secure home court over the Cavs. So a loss here and there isn't out of place.

It is out of place if it is to a minnow like the Grizzlies, at Oracle and after having led from first quarter to third by as much as 19 points to a team that had beat them before. It is absolutely atrocious and I am furious.

I don't even get the fuse about this all star game whatever..like it should even be scrapped.. Only the dunk contest makes sense. The West vs East match match is just for fun. We want to see the best go against each other not lobs and flashy passes

All these while since the 3-1 and Christmas day I'm wondering what the coaching staffs and the players are even doing to stop this choking nonsense. They should go see a therapist or something. I was too mad to even watch the OT.. Abi wetin be the problem gangan?

Brother If you call the Grizzlies minnows, what then would you say of Wolves & Mavs. Even the Lakers who sit pretty deep gave the warriors balling lessons so what are we talking about?
The Grizzles are a good team with good ballers like Vince Carter , Gasol & Conley and they're just a game behind the 3rd best Team in the East, they deserve some credit.
Lastly, this is the NBA, any team can beat any Team, it's very competitive. . I share ur sentiments though, GSW bleeped up big time.

The league has to keep marketing its product, and the ALL STAR provides that platform to keep the game in the hands of the fans. You must understand that NBA competes with the NFL, MLB, NHL for the market. The MLB recorded an unprecedented viewership this past season, partly because of my Cubbies and their journey to redemption.

However, the numbers say younger Americans are pitching tents with the MLB which is odd, considering the MLB is largely considered a game for the older generation.

All 4 major sports have an ALL STAR weekend, the NBA needs to continue to diversify its market especially as the league has become browner than it was in the 70's and 80's.

He is. LOL.

Steve is the 2nd best coach in the NBA. He is just behind Pop. Make no mistakes, all coaches have their own individual flaws. Steve is no exception.

I think he gets flaks because people feel he has a talented squad. But some other coach had handled this team before and did not get to a conference final let alone win it. The present GSW that we all admire is a direct product of Steve's coaching. It is part of why he was given the job. He had drafted a plan to the board of GSW detailing exactly what he could do to make them a championship winning side and he has achieved that. Along the way he has garnered some records that even Phil and Pop are yet to achieve. For instance, Steve notched up 150 wins in a way faster time than both. Also, in 3 seasons of coaching Steve after 35 games had a record of 30-5, 33-2, 30-5 again. It is more than the talents at his disposal- He has a system that is attractive and works.

Many don't know that Steve fought by all means for Phoenix to draft Curry in 2009 when he was their GM. He believed so much in Curry even when the NBA did not. It was no coincidence that he hopped at the opportunity to coach Curry. Like Skip Bayless, Kerr felt Curry and not Griffin should have been drafted first. Guess posterity has proven him right. BTW Steve made Curry a 2-time MVP which Mark Jackson could never have done. Pop (for all his greatness) is yet to make Kawhi that.

They say students are usually a product of the teachers they have had. What do people expect from Steve he was coached by Phil and Pop (perhaps 2 of the best coaches ever). Steve is primed to be in the same mold.

I think they would have a 50-50 chance of getting past the first round if they are lucky to draw the clippers. If they finish lower that 5th, then sorry would become their 6th man grin

rick Carlise is the 2nd best to pop to me, though this season has been terrible for Dallas, what he has done with less, only pop has achieved that.

After popovic, I fancy Eric Spoelstra. Many of the other coaches with all stars in the team just pick their team and allow the stars express themselves on court. It's not also surprising that Eric Spoelstra is schooled in Popovic's coaching philosophy

Carlise just has the IQ of a very intelligent man. As a coach to me, he is just there. Perhaps I am not looking as closely as I ought to.
