Good afternoon house and a big thanks to Oga Bellong and every other participant on this thread whose contributions have proven very useful thus far.

I joined the thread at my husband's direction and have read from the first page up to this point as a guest. I have also studied the VETASSESS website as they are the assessing body for my profession. I will be the primary applicant and will be Assessed as an Agricultural Consultant.

At this point, I have some areas where I will be needing some clarifications and as a result of this solicit for your guidance and information in order to help us get things right.

1) According to VETASSES I'm required to write The Statement of Service which must include the following:
a) The company letterhead
b) Your full name
c) Whether the employment is / was on a full-time or part-time basis
d) The working hours per week
e) Your official position title (s) held at the organisation
f) The exact period of your employment in each position held
g) Details of your official main duties for each position held
h) The main five duties undertaken
i) The salary earned
j) A signature by the authorised person whose name and position are legible below the signature
k) Direct contact details of the authorised signatory

Please can anyone guide me on this or show me a template or sample to have an idea on how to prepare it?

2) Resume / curriculum vitae

According to VETASSESS "If applying for a formal skills assessment, we encourage you to submit a CV as it may benefit the assessment process. A resume/ CV allows you to outline both your academic studies (describing the major focus of your studies including providing details of any major projects undertaken as part of course requirements) as well as describing your employment/ career history in your own words".

I will also need some guide with this especially on how to highlight " the major focus of my studies including providing details of any major projects undertaken as part of course requirements" on my CV and the generally accepted standard/format for Australian CVs

3) In addition to the above questions, I will like to know if there are particular formats that VETASSESS looks out for on a Payslip as my company will have to create the Payslip for me with the details of my salaries as I wasn't issued any payslips previously because my salaries were mostly paid through open cheque which I normally cash over the counter.

Thanks as I await for your directions and assistance.

But if it's general knowledge that Universities in Nigeria don't send original copies to individuals, wouldn't that make them question how I got it in the first place?

I know I'm over analyzing but I like to tie all loose ends.
Nigeria Universities are mega-annoying.

I used the same personal copy from Babcock for my ACS, although I am yet to get the outcome but I think they should have contacted me if they have an issue with it. Just certify the personal copy. Btw I'd send you a personal message.

For those who keep sending PM and have not commented nor ask questions on this thread, I am sorry, your pm will not be attended to.

I have received too many PMS in the last three days, I can't respond to them all. I have things I do too.

I believe my PM was the last one that ilicited this honest response@ Oga Bellong. Lol, no vex boss.
Iam an active member of this thread, and have always commented when I can. It's not easy commenting on issues you feel not qualified to.
I am so sorry for taking your personal time, sir.
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 11:42pm On Jan 06, 2017
@Piusford,

Yours wasn't the last.

It is always a good idea that people ask their questions here first because you can get detailed information from others.
I have made a mistake in information before, thanks to others who saw it and corrected it. If the person who asked the question did it in PM, I would have misled him.

There are many other people on the thread willing to help. Two or more good heads are better than one.

However, I do promise if after asking questions on the thread, I am convinced anyone requires a pm, I will send it.

Thanks for the understanding.

No dues required grin ... Only Vetasses people can answer question 1.. Wait, they are coming soon... As for the other questions,, here goes

The payslip doesn't have a specific format like that,, the important elements are Company name and/or company logo, employee name, position, duration of pay, amount paid, ... A stamp and signature go help matters as well.. Payslip formats full Google.. Just browse and take a fine, official-looking one use as template...

CV, as oga said, age, Marital status, religion, gender, na things dem no wan see... In terms of highlighting things, under each qualification, I wrote some descriptive course titles.. For example...

Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Modules include - Microprocessor Applications
- Power systems and smart Grid
- Alternative and Renewable Energy

There'll definitely be some powerful course titles you can write under each qualification...

In terms of duties and experience, I basically wrote the Organization,, my position, then four of my key duties.. E.g Graduate Intern ...
Repair and maintenance of electrical control systems..

You know, find a sophisticated way of describing something that you did on a daily basis.. Or maybe did just once in your entire career. It doesn't exactly matter...

Merely being asked for advice about how to construct a poultry can become :

Review, survey and assessment of agricultural installations cheesy

Packaging is very important... ... But ensure that it is true... All the best smiley

Try firstbank mastercard, their daily/monthly limit was $2000 when others were $100/$300 the last time I used it, although you will be charged almost the same rate as the black market.

Visa application date dey expire again?? I'm confused o

However, in terms of Medicals. IF you've already lodged your application, DON'T do medicals without CO contact.. Its expressly stated on the website that doing medicals without CO contact AFTER YOU'VE ALREADY APPLIED will delay your visa application... ..

However, if you never lodge application yet,, you can do medicals in advance. I hope what I wrote no dey too confusing smiley

After a long read, I finally arrived here.
Seems like being away from this thread isn't advisable anymore if you want to follow the hottest gist in town; 2days away and I'd to read 3 pages. 2017 carry ginger come.

PS: I do more of the "Like" these days coz by the time I read, relevant responses have been made to pressing issues. And for some questions, I can't respond coz I don't have adequate information e.g. @BrisbaneQueen I know little or nothing about VETASSES. I'm more comfortable commenting on Engineers Australia. But the thread attracts many people with relevant information for almost all cases. It won't be long until you get a favourable reply. Some followers are still in their villages for the season I reckon.

I have made payment and currently uploading necessary documents. pardon my expiry date language. What i meant was the 60 days within which i have to lodge the application. That's Jan 20. Does that mean that lodging application before that date automatically makes the date irrelevant?

1. As regards the transcript, you have to get it from your institution, make photocopy of it and take it to High Court to get it certified. It is the certified copy that you have to scan and upload to ACS not to be sent by your institution to them.

2. On MCIPT, i sent the one i have along with my cisco certifications but the case officer asked for the transcript of the Microsoft. I have to ask him to assess other certificate when i couldn't access my Microsoft portal. If you include it as part of your credentials and they need any clarification, you will get a mail form the assessor.

3. On the employment, i think statutory will do but if you have any other document to back up your employment history, its not a bad idea. I only send employment reference letter and nothing else in my own case.

Hope this will help

Hello bro, am a new comer to this thread. I have been following some comments and I have just found one that is relevant to me. I have a Bsc in Computer Science with eight experience with FRSC. I want to ask how to go about my assessment and which of the occupation type matches my qualifications. Thank you

Once you've made payment, that means you have lodged ur application, upload all documents as soon as possible, u are no longer on a deadline, go ahead and print your medical referral letter and go for medicals, u don't need to wait for a CO, I did mine after lodging too, and don't forget ur PCC as well as polio vaccination card.
