Some people used agbo (iba, typhoid) when they sense that they wana fall sick, not because they wana satisfy the demand from akata. Lol.

Can you believe I don't fall sick like I used to back in Nigeria? Only once from flu virus. Iba (malaria/yellow) or Typhoid fever is peculiar to Africa where people live near stagnant water/ponds and eat with unclean hands (bare), drink contaminated water or eat poorly processed food.

Diseases you need to worry about as far as US is concern are STDs including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, cancer (by eating carcinogenic food or using carcinogenic products), diabetes (all you eat in US is sugar i.e carb), influenza virus (common every winter in snowy states) etc. All this diseases will render those Nigerian agbo useless.

From what I know, UL Lafayette don't fund incoming grad. students but their tuition is around $20k per year I think.

Men, that's a lot of money whereas intl students can't apply for financial aid.

I left home by 3:00am for 6:30am flight to New York on the 5th got to the airport around 3:40am, proceeded to the check point, my bags was checked and the immigration officers requested for money because I carried foodstuff voluntarily gave them 1k, my bags was weighed and I got my boarding pass. i hooked up with my family again to say good bye, it wasn’t easy to bid them farewell, mum wanted to cry, i hugged her and turned my face away in order not to cry too lol. She loves me so much. I left them, waiting to be called into the plane. My name was called along with three other guys, we were told that something was discovered in our bags and they need to check the bags again, I was afraid later remained calm since I have no contraband. The bags was checked, the officers was like oh it’s honey, you’re good to go.
On the plane, we were served tea/coffe, one small bread (look like agege bread), yourghurt , I ate everything na my money na LOL, I was actually looking forward to another food but none. We had a layover at Casablanca, met a beautiful sierra Leone lady (Amina) going to Washington DC, she graduated from UNT, we got talking, she was like this is your first time, I said yes, she said I can smell you, you’ve not been hit by the cold. We talked at length and dropped her number and asked me to call when I reach my destination. I connected to the Casablanca airport wifi chatted with few friends for a while before departure.
Fast forward, boarded connecting flight from casanblanca to New York, I ate all the foods served too, funny enough no stomach disorder. Got to the POE, a lots of people on the queue.
Me: Good evening, how are you doing?
CBP: cool, how was your flight?
Me: Fine, I enjoyed it. (he collected my passport, i20, declaration form)
CBP: what is the name of your sch?
Me SNHU
CBP: what Course?
Me: Msc Operation and project management
CBP: Your Bsc?
Me: Quantity surveying
CBP: Ok good, Welcome to America.
Me: I collected my passport, i20 and claimed my bag.
I went outside looking for where to borrow phone, hehee I ran back inside the cold was crazy lol. i doubled my jacket and went back still the same thing, I sha maintained, today na today. I met one naija lady i asked her to help me call my brother (PA imperiouxx na my brother na) lol, she was like call the number, I was looking for my phone, she said so you don’t know your brother’s number off hand?, I quickly remembered that the number starts with 575 but don’t know the rest, I called that then brought out my phone and called the remaining numbers, told her wanted to be sure. LOL
I called him (imperiouxx) and he said it will take him over 1 hr to get to the airport from his place, then I chilled for him and described where I was and what I wore. His beautiful wife found me where I was freezing and we hurriedly carry the bags, along the line lost my charger. We found imperiouxx outside and we moved, they showed me round, though it was dark couldn’t see much of New York, they bought me Chinese food and a good place to sleep, I showered and used wifi to messaged my parent, slept like a baby. LOL
The following day (6th) his wife prepared a nice meal for me with tea and milk, we entered train, ferry and took some pictures along the way and finally took me to where I will get a taxi to Laguardia airport, lest I forget she bought me new charger too. Got to the airport, took a connecting flight to my destination.
The couple (PA Imperiouxx and ga2157) showed me lots of love, advised me. May God continue to strength your marriage and bless your home beyond your imagination, may the Lord makes his face to shine upon you, give you peace; this is the least you shall be in Jesus name. I don’t know them from Adam, I hope to repay them in multi fold so help me God.

So sorry for long epistle.

Thank God for safe travel. Hope you settle in quickly.
I really don't know much about imperiouxx n his wife, but I've read much about their hospitality. It warms my heart when I read accounts as this. I hope they continue to be kind and hospitable, not just to Nigerians but to all. Hospitality never go unrewarded.
Bless up

I think this is a best place to get help/answer to my question.
I met an American woman last year June here in naija which she later turned to be nice friend, mentor and co, she left naija around July and we never loss contact we talk almost everyday maybe through phone or email (I still have the record of our conversation)..fast forward..August last year she complained back pain to me which I think it kept her out of work for two months before she was diagnosed with cancer in October....and after then will talk and used to promised she will help to travel to US if get better but I received Email this year 5th of Jan. that she died on 3rd (But before she gave up the ghost) she discussed me with her church (May be Pastor) and the representative of that church was the one that sent me the breaking news about her died and she (church rep) also tell me she want me to attend her funeral service.
They asked me to send my passport bio-data page and other necessary info....
my questions:
please I want to know if US Embassy can grant me a visa based on church invitation to attend funeral service of someone that is not my family
2. Aside from that my account balance only define my level of poverty
3. with all these do you think I have any chances of attend the funeral service
4. Though my Reverend father promise to write a supportive letter to embassy but I still think this not enough

please I need you advice Nairalander
