1. That will not be too much if you provide paper evidence to explain the additional income from your side business

2. There must be other options apart from hotel in that form, look for one related to family.

3. If the actual cost of the trip is 300 and you are traveling with 400 then 300 is the cost of the trip while 400 is what available for the trip. If things did not go as budgeted you still have some money to cover up.

4. Add up all your monthly income.

5. That will look desperate, you register a business just about when you about to apply for visa

6. No idea

thank you for your response

1. what should I fill on the form as my monthly income; my monthly regular salary is N100,070. some months, salary + my business could be 150k while the next month could be 160k to 200k. what should I fill as total monthly income

2. I need further clarification on cost of trip and money available for trip. is money available for trip made up of cost of trip + additional money at hand or they are both separate amounts.

thank you

1. Is the side business cash in-hand?

2. Yes that is what its, if the trip will cost you 300 you should have more than 300 available for the trip even as the trip will cost you only 300

@justwise and all visa guru

I am new on here, my name is Juliet.

My case is abit lengthy but I guess we all here to learn so.....

I applied for a visit visa in 2014 with hotel reservation, self employed, no sponsor, no tax anything and about 25k in my account. Of course I got refused, even I wonder what I was thinking.
Fast forward 2015- my mum was getting married, mind you, she has lived in the UK for the last 16years illegally and became legal in 2013 and so, I never mentioned her in my application because truthfully, she wasn't paying for my trip in anyway.
In 2015, she was getting married and her husband is British so he decided to invite my sister and I from Nigeria, we provided all necesary documents and liste my mum as our mother etc and all hell let loose! My mums application history was brought out and mine as well to say she never stated us as her kids in Nigeria and I also never stated her as my mum. This application was submitted in Victoria island and so it went directly to Sheffield.
My mums lawyer in the UK who handled her residency application took up the case, aske us to do a DNA and wrote a letter to explain the omission- we wre above 18, resident in Nigeria, never planning to move to the UK and this is why they never mentioned my sister and I in my mums filing for residency.
New application was submitted to ikeja center and went to BDHC Walter carrignton. ECO said I had numerous deposits which they couldn't understand in my personal account, I can totally understand his point because I didn't calm down to file the documents due to my limite time frame to meet the wedding date.
Bottom line, we were refused based on financial grounds and no mention of the previous case of ommision.

Now, I intend to apply this year, my circumstances has changed completely- my business is now well monitored as I outsource my accounting to an auditor, I pay VAT, I got my tax sorted, I earn approximately 120k from my business a my personal income, this is paid into my personal account from my business account weekly ( 8500 per week for my living expenses and 86k at months end ) I also have a separate account( personal) for my savings of about 300k ( I save btw 50-80k monthly). I intend to make a new application, my trip wouldn't cost me more than 150k for ticket alone as my parents have a house mortgage free in the UK and good jobs and they will support my application as invitees and sponsors and heir letter will state what they will be sponsoring.
I am confused-
1.do I still write a cover letter to explain the case of the ommision as the immediate past refusal never brought that up again?
2. With a 300k savings, is it practical to an ECO that I can use 150k for my trip (which I may not even have to use sef) and still come back?
Pls hepp a Sista
Thanks.

darling, you have not been banned. But you will have to put yourself in the shoes of an ECO and explain with formidable evidence the reason you delayed your entry and overstayed the dates you put on your application because you were issued that visa for a specific reason.

1. Did you submit the DNA result during your last application and was the paper returned to you with your package?

2. Do you mean that you earn 120K weekly from your business? Do you have paper evidence to support that? E.g payment receipts, bank transfer from business account to savings/personal account? etc

I'm not sure that 150K can get you a return ticket to the UK
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Iyalojacentral: 12:45pm On Jan 08, 2017
@justwise
Yes I submitted DNA in last application and it was returned to me with absolutely no mention of the previous ECO raised reasons.

No I earn a total of 120k on the average a month, broken down to 8500 per week which I transfer from my business account to my personal account and I state it in the remark box as weekly upkeep. Then 86k at months end which I also transfer to my personal account and then take out what I want to save and transfer to another personal savings account after I have deducted tax. I have all bank transfers to show these transactions and I have my tax clearance which declares my income as above. I am very strict with these income as I have my business audited every 3months so I can't afford to have loop holes.
I also have my business purchase receipts of goods, all sales invoices and receipts and VAT return receipts, accountants audit reports and letter of authorization, letter from bank as sole signatory to account all as proof that I do run a profitable business which can pay me that amount.
I no longer have numerous deposits in my personal savings account in the last 6months or more as I have streamlined all business transactions to my business account. All deposits in my personal savings are traceable and explainable with documentary evidence.

3. Return ticket is about 150-200k depending on airline and season, I can get ticket quotes and attach to application for proof of guide and reason for my estimate.

Ok but did you add all that in your previous application?

If you are able to get a ticket for 150K and that is the only cost to you for the trip then it will increase your chances.

Since you submitted the DNA paper and they have seen it and returned it to you then you don't need to address the issue again, you only have to address the reason for the recent refusal.

thank you so much for the clarification.

yes my business is cash in hand but sometimes money is transferred into my account. sometimes I collect deposit cash and balance is paid into account. so what do I fill as monthly income. thank you

thank you so much for your response

yes my business is mostly cash in hand but sometimes I collect deposit and the balance is paid into my account. but in recent months (5mths), it's been paid directly into my account.

1. so what do I declare as my total monthly income since my regular job is N100,070 monthly. my business could vary from 30k to say 120k a month. or should I fill N100,070 as total monthly income and use the remark page or covering letter to explain all this.

2. I have N1.1m in my account now. with money available for trip at N320k. am I good to go.

thank you

Pls I need advise, @justwise and frontpagelaywer

I applied for a 6 month visit visa in Sept 2016, with a salary of 350k and a bank balance of 2.4mill,I was single then. The person who filled my form also started that I had 400 pounds additional income from other sources monthly, but did not add any supporting documents to support that. He also stated that my accommodation and living expenses to be about 2100 pounds for a one week minus the ticket fee of 700 pounds.
The ECO refused the visa stating that he could not believe I was spending more than 3 months salary on a one week trip. And that I provided no evidence to support the additional income....

I got married in November last year , I was to apply in February and will stated. My expenses as
Air ticket........680 pounds
Accommodation.......260 pounds
Local transport........80 pounds
Living expenses..........200 pounds

Total available for trip......1300 (@ current oanda rate 390, but I used 400 for allowance (400*1300......520k naira)

Monthly salary.......350k (am not talking about any additional income again)

Bank balance...........2.55mill

I will add all letters of employment and leave letters and also add the marriage certificate.......I want to stay for a week

Please how do u rate my chances....

so I applied for 2yr visa for myself and 6months for my spouse, on tracking it, my spouse status says decision taken, passport ready for collection, while mine is still showing passport/documents sent to ukvi.
note we both applied same day, and the 2 applications/docs were put in the same bag/envelope
is this normal?...has this happened to any1 b4?...I tot since I clearly stated its a grp application, that they would be treated at the same time

That is not always the case, if they are still investigating some of the documents you submitted or other details then they will be dealing with the issuing authority and not you.

A message like that you received from them is normal and in many cases people still get their visas at the end.

Morning my people.

I got a Tier 2 job in the NHS and have been requested to get a police clearance certificate (certificate of good conduct). Has anyone done this or have an idea of how to go about it within the UK? Have been calling the Nigeria Embassy in London to ask for procedure on how to go about but no response from them. I have booked an appointment with Scotland Yard (Met Police) but I don't know if I need to go to the Nigeria Embassy before going for thumb-printing at Scotland Yard.

Your responses will be highly appreciated

NB: I am currently in the UK on Tier 4 visa

Good day everyone, I went to Abuja tls center yesterday to submit application for Tier 2 visa. I went with the application, my supporting documents, new and old passports and photocopies of data page. When I got there, I was asked to make photocopy of EACH PAGE of the old passport. This is just to inform you guys so you don't make the same mistake! If you are submitting old passports, make photocopy of each page, to avoid wasting money when you get there.
Anyway I really like the new system, all my original documents were returned after they scanned them. Patiently waiting for visa approval smiley

1.if you have been in the UK on Tier 4,you should be able to do your DBS check In UK which is supposed to be initiated by the trust.
2.If you want to do the naija CRB,u ll need to download the CRB forms nd print them, take it to the UK police station and thumbprint.
After all that, send it to naija alongside 2 passport photographs, someone can help you take it to Force CID,Alagbon in lagos, get it done and send it back to u in UK
3.If u v got loads of cash,u can do everything online for around 40k(check nigeriacrb.com )
