The Sad Truth. It is always advised to start something while you are still in school. Undergraduates should take note. Get a skill offline, work as an apprentice during the strike or breaks. Use Google. Answers will come! There are a lot of jobs on the internet (Not Fraud or Scam). Doors will open for you if you keep on!

I'm also in that class, educated but a Keke rider.
I make between a 100k n 150k monthly.
I save and have a clear picture of a phone shop I'll open in the next 18 months.
Right now I can't accept a job that pays less than 100k monthly.
I know my self worth but unfortunately most girls can't see it, they prefer an unemployed than a Keke rider.
As for girls, I don't care much. Cus I know that to have the kind of lady I want, the girl of my dreams, I have to at least be on the path to actualizing my dreams and that's for me is opening the phone shop.
If there's a girl that can see it now and be with me, she've got to be deeply wise.
But I guess that deep wisdom is a rare commodity.
That's my points.

Back in my secondary school in Nigeria, I was usually booed for not doing well academically. I was an intelligent guy obviously, I just didn't see the need to memorise a book other people wrote or pass an exermination/test to prove I am intelligent.

Usually I get called out in school assemblies to get booed( yes I can vividly remember those days in my school in Port Harcourt). I didn't even bother to sit for the first ever NECO exermination. I was condemned by the principal. "You gonna be a gateman! " he would say many times


But today, I am so happy I was myself. I'm glad I have no academic certificates. Those papers do not determine who or what I am today. After secondary school that was it for me. I was young and full of ideas. Today I am so happy

My point is.... PHD, Bse, CNN certificates are not necessarily..., you can think and grow rich. The earlier the better.

OP, I think you are now thinking like I did years ago. It is never too late to be your own boss.

There are a few people out there who still help. what you should say is people shouldn't be totally dependent on people. Bible said so when it wrote "woe unto you, if you put your trust in man".

have an open mind, search for jobs, have some back up plan. if Lagos doesn't work out, relocate, learn a skill, try online networking, take some computer classes, that's the evolving trend now and it pays.

Good write up, graduate of nowadays carry certificate on their head as if anyone care about what they obtain in school. The earlier they realized that no one cares, the better for them to dust their bumbum and look for something that will help them pay their bill. Stop looking for white collar job when the black is not even there.

It's so sadden to the heart the current unemployment rate of the country but wt I wud advise is, do not let situation of d country affect ur dreams in life... Av since learnt bin a boss of myself since wen I'm in sec schl... I'm now a university graduate but I didn't regret anything coz I learned beyond d 4 walls of my class room....

I deal with online businesses, not scam or fraudulent ones as pple ignorantly thinks anything internet business is yahoo yahoo.... NO!!! let's change dt ideology... There ar internet businesses dt pays nd by God's grace I mk my income frm dem without avin to roam abt d street looking for one job that is not lost.....

somebody suggested a ponzi schemes which is not a bad idea. they are so many now. understudy them and go with the one that suits u. if u like i could recommend one for u. pay 5k and get 10k within 12hours. u can understudy it for as long as u can then decide. extra 5k a day ain't a bad idea. good luck bro.

Look for small capital, get a shop or an office set up traveling agency, note all ticket is online now. If you don't have your personal capital to start up the business now, look for a trusted person work for him/her to acquire skill and also get paid, by so doing you make your capital.

Most people want to start life big, and don't want to start small.
I remember after NYSC in kogi, I relocate to Lagos where I looked and got a casual job in a cosmetics factory, they nva knew I was a graduate in Applied Chemistry and was paid 9K like evrybody else. It's was crazy, and hard, I was doing all sorts of things like carry heavy drums of perfumes, petroleum jelly, mineral oil, speciality chemical in an unsafe condition and environment, spoken too rudely, insulted, and harassed by all the illiterate supervisors. After 3 mke evry products they produce, and knew all the decision makers, I decided to approach the National Sales Manager, and gave him my CV, the man was stoned like he was looking at medusa, he couldn't believe it and told me that they need someone urgently with my qualification to fill a vacant position of Quality Control officer, and the next day the CEO came to meet me where I was working, and called me out, evryone was like 'wetin this one do again', but were all surprise when the man said "I am short of words to describe what you did, working in this condition even with your qualification" . After that month my level changed, and God has been good to me. If I had waited for a white collar job, who knows what could have been my case.

Do not despise your days of little beginning, whatever your hands find to do, do it diligently and honourably, so God can bless the work of your hands.
