I think some some university offer upgrade to masters program similar to PGC(D). You will have to email graduate coordinators or admin of your interested program to know if they can give you that. Thanks.

Thanks so much for the tip. Would start shooting mails. Thanks once again.

University of Waterloo (Home of Blackberry) is arguably the best IT school in Canada, you can't really go wrong with that.

You do not have to in most cases. Paying tuition is no guarantee for Study Permit.

UWaterloo does Wireless Communication courses/research under her Bachelors, Masters and PhD Program, not quite sure if they have a certification or a 2 year diploma for that. But for strictly Certifications or Diploma in Wireless Communication, try BCIT (I believe they offer a 2 year diploma too). For Certification program try Fleming College, Conestoga College and George Brown College.

Hello house and happy new year.
Please this is what I got from CIC Accra this morning and I need your professional advice.

Though, I applied to USA then as an engineer with an agent to attend a training but I applied to Canada as an accountant. Pls what are my chances?

I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:

16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

On the current application form, you indicate that you have never been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused a visa to the United States in 2014 and 2015.

Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):

40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act

40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.

I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

Let me first of all congratulate you for receiving this letter, they deny people with such a case most times. You have a chance. Have you paid your full school fee? This letter didn't mentioned anything about your course of study or did I miss that? You need to draft a comprehensive response explaining what happened at your visa interview at US embassy in details without telling any lie. State the reason they refused you a visa and your quest to still study outside Nigeria. Don't rush to respond, take your time, you have 15 days. All the best.

actually he was asking abt PGD/PGC and not masters.

By the way, Waterloo is only extremely mouthed in IT in their undergrad programs, you can't compare Waterloo to the likes of McGill, UofToronto and UBC in terms of postgrad programs. Waterloo is usually the fourth and sometimes fifth after UofA, check any ranking you wish to go through online to confirm.

You lied to the embassy about your prior visa refusals and yet you feel entitled to a fast response. Keep in mind that no one here is being paid to render you any services. It is all voluntary.

I suggest you consider also helping others on here as well, since you authoritatively demand free help as though it is your right. Best of luck.

Good news! An African born Member of Canadian Parliament is now the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada. He is Ahmed Hussen.

Thanks for the info.
It feels good to hear that africans are doing great things at young age.
As I celebrate his success, I don't expect any partiality from him. As such, I still believe status-quo will remain, except if Africans have been disfavoured before now, which I doubt based on my reading.
Na make we still dey package well.
To all admission and visa applicant, God will favour us. Amen! Let's continue to put in our best. cool

Shalom!
