The trees should not be very clear but again if there is any road to do this, that would be between lokoja and Abuja. I was tempted last time I was on that road.

Actually the problem is not the trees but the tacho. I don't think a small car like this with 1.8L engine can get to 220km/hr under 4,000rpm

It can, but remember that it's mostly not running stock tire sizes. Maybe not even the stock engine and/or transmission anymore.

OP that's was too much risk having your family riding with you at that speed in such fragile car, if I'm not mistaken... I think that car has just two airbags.

To those saying the trees should be moving kinda...phones have really gotten smarter, cameras now come with sensors making focus and capturing moments easier, more so... The lady kept a steady hand.

There's nothing fake about the rpm, I can remember vividly someone achieving such and posting it on NL,same car but a sport trim , it caused uproar like this too good ol days we had oga Siena but it's turns out to be same thing as oga EgunMogaji said, something probably changed in the car. Transmission which is a prime suspect and a few other variables.

I'll post the pic of the other corolla once I find it.

Modified: the first pic is what people was expecting to see, however OP achieved Same as in second pic. A convincing assertion was opined by Siena as seen in the third pic.

My ogas at the top caught your scam, the trees are hardly moving.

I have done same with a similar corolla and the tachometer was around where the op's own is. No redlining.

When u snap pictures tree does move?

See where ur brain reach

Actually, ur picture is a fraud on so many points.....

1. the trees should be blurred when u claimed to be doing waheva speed. At dat speed camera shouldn't capture distant scenery so sharp.

2. to reach dat speed ur rev should be reaching close to the limiter.

3. go and fix ur meter and if u wan try am for real pls go alone.... Make sure u drop rice money for burial in case....... u neva know.

Increasingly smart cameras set in sport mode can capture all but air particles these days. 110mp/h is attainable on the Corolla though not for long. Most likely OP did it for the pics. Nevertheless, Oga OP please do not drive like that with anybody than yourself and/or a willing partner.

Lol are u kidding me? Corolla? That speedometer isn't legit. Even if it were to be legit, my vehicle at my normal "mad man speed" would still dust that car. grin

So there is nothing special about a 110mph / 170kmh.

Next time, try it with a 220kmh or 240kmh car and come back

All the same, this is no news.

Well said bro. Was going to say the same.. 220/240 will surely take the rev pin to the red zone.

That speedometer is legit tho... I think American spec or so. Some states dnt allow higher speed than 180km

I don't know what gave u the impression that the tree should be blurry. For God's sake it's the car that is moving and not the tree. Re: A Nairalander Finished His Speedometer On Nigerian Road by Ladipodeal: 7:54pm On Jan 12, 2017
@ ziego why attempt such feat with you family in the car. If I may ask what pressure do you have in your tyres?
Re: A Nairalander Finished His Speedometer On Nigerian Road by debanj326: 12:20pm On Jan 13, 2017
This can only be possible if there is no FRICTION (between the tyres and the surface of the road) and AIR RESISTANCE. These two factors opposes motion, therefore they reduce the efficiency of the Engine.

If there is FRICTION and AIR RESISTANCE then your Engine will REV more to overcome their effects then increase your speed and thereby making your RPM to be in the red Zone.
Re: A Nairalander Finished His Speedometer On Nigerian Road by Nobody: 7:08pm On Jan 13, 2017
I saw this online somewhere. Of course it's not me wink

A bog standard drivetrain 2007 Mini Cooper does 100mph at 4,000 RPM.

If this person that is not me happened to be caught by Californias finest then its the following

1) Arrest on the spot, no question asked.

2) Impound of vehicle immediately.

3) Hefty fines.

4) No less than $500 to get car out and maybe additional $1,500 in court fees for the speeding fines. Anything over 100mph is automatically a felony, same charge as murder, kidnapping, etc

Just saying.

PS: According to the driver, who again is not me, there were no trees, blurry or not, harmed in taking this picture. He also added that it wasn't the fear of death that stopped him from higher speed but the police. Nigerian Police should strike this fear into motorists so they can slow down the carnage on the roads.

i gauged the tyre before embarking on the journey

i ensured all was in order

actually its not my wish to do so

just that at 120km/hr the road was free i felt i could do more

at 140km/hr seems its still nothing

then i reached th climax

FAT LIES . Your speedo do NOT WORK HOW the hell would your phone camera capture such still frame at such speed . The foto of the bush is to clear for a fast moving car only professional cameras can take such stills at such speed. Plz try harder .

Stop trying hard to prove a point we k ow it's fraud . Your claims are flowed . Your cam o's moving not the tree . Moving your cam from point a to b see if you can capture anything clear. Try it from your left shoulder to your right shoulder .

Lol, a moving car with camera in it is very different from holding ur camera while moving ur hands. Dude some people have cameras attached to their dashboard and they don't take blurry images even at high speed, mind u making a video might be blurry but stil shots can bring out decent images.

Come to think of it, from the op's pictures the trees are not even very clear like u put it.. there are some smartphones that can take better pictures while moving at top speed. Not the sharpest pictures but definitely not as blurry as u think it would be.

The phone.was held by hand not. Attached as you.can see . I know 2 hat I'm talking.about. The trees are very clear do not forget the camera is held by hand in a fast moving g car.the only object at same speed as the cam o's the dash not the trees . It's simple physics.
