How Do I Stop Myself From Overthinking?? by BluntMadmoiselle(f): 12:28pm On Jan 11, 2017
I've recently noticed uncontrollable thoughts popping in my head and it's happening more and more. It seems that whenever I plan on interacting with someone or going somewhere, I'm coming up with different scenarios and running through the dialogue in my head. Half the time, I don't even think I realize that I'm doing it. But, I've caught myself doing it more and more.

This is something I think I've done my entire life. And it's pretty much the only thing I'm thinking of. It's not thoughts of what I should do or will be doing, or any negative thoughts of me etc. What I do in my mind pretty much 24/7 is making these fake scenarios in my head. It's either about past events where I edit the conversation to things I wanted to say or should have said it, or it's about scenarios that "may" happen where I imagine what I would say (I'm always so witty and cool in these made up scenarios).

I sometimes feel cut off from the world, just looking into it but not interacting with. My social life has been ruined by this as I do not feel comfortable doing the gisting gisting thing, all I wanna do is to be alone and travel to "Thinkland". It is very difficult to socialize with people because I'm never there.

I make scenarios in my head that might probably never gonna happen. I seldomly wander off into my thoughts, fantasizing about things happening paying less attention to the outside world.

I know this is a psychological issue but the question is "HOW CAN I GET MYSELF OFF THE HOOK OF IMAGINATIONS". IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS ALREADY.

If you get yourself a job and keep yourself busy, then you are 80% there.

I'm a full time student and I don't want to get involved in a job that would disrupt my education (at least not yet). It's not like I get less-busy at all times but I tend to travel into thought at the slightest chance.

why don't you put your thoughts into words? and become a writer?
you have a very active imagination, why not exploit it for monetary gains?
you might be the next JK Rowlings.

Try hanging out with friends often. Your idle time should always be when you sleeping at night. If you have brothers sisters, spend more time with them. Gist, gossip. If you have a girlfriend, do same.

If you have a job, always get yourself busy with anything when at work.

At home, get yourself a PlayStation or an Xbox and play away those thoughts in your head.

Always get your self busy.

Or if you are really good at it, it's best you start creating a scenario on how to make millions. Make e for no waste

OK. The thing is, most friends(girls especially) talk about meaningless things. I'm not into all the things they talk about; fashion, boys, gossips....latest this....latest that. That's why I feel I have a big problem. I'm just so boring

For boys, I don't feel secured around them

You may have to see a shrink since yours is an impediment to your social life.

Why would anyone hate this? Same thing with me: I do this all the time, because most times things don't go according to plan and it makes me sad everytime, but then I rewrite everything, like I'm the author of my story, and that feeling, be it fake or real, actually makes me happy

It is not as easy as she dey tell you o... That's a gift that drive many crazy if not well handled... Start doing guided meditation (not just thinking about any shiit).

I used that shiit back then in school to top my department every semester, consistently... Graduated as the best in the department. That shiit still happens to me till date. I don't fight it, I just leverage on it by guiding it.

Guy no go craze o. grin grin grin
