Large Number Of Snake Fish Caught By Me - Pics

I spent the Xmas and New Year holidays in my husband village somewhere in the Niger Delta area. It is a fresh Water aquatic habitat. We went out for fishing together. We used fishing gear and fishing trap.
We were able to get a large amount of this snake fish in as many as ten of the fishing traps. Very delicious indeed. It was my first time.

How does one get rid of the skales. My dad bought it when we we're kids, we couldn't eat it because we did not know how to remove the scales. Very unlike typical fish scales.
We usually eat it like that. The scale are part of the flesh

There's this local saying that goes.... "I can't roast my fingers for the sake of roasting egbene (snake fish)". But the levels go well to tidy banga soup that year. grin tongue

Thank God you used the word "hardly", not impossible. People say the same about using ordinary nico sweet nylon and hook to catch frogs but we used to do it. Those fish love earthworms and with the right skill you will have success getting them.

MrnovaLyn:
"Since 2002, it has been illegal to possess a
live snakehead in many US states, where they
are considered a destructive invasive
species." [8] Virginia has criminalized the
"introduc[tion]" of snakeheads into the state
without specific authorization, although the
relevant statute does not explain whether
mere importation is sufficient to constitute
"introduc[tion] into the Commonwealth" or
whether instead release into the environment
is required.

it's an eel not a snakehead
