First. Let me appreciate those who painstakingly respond to and help some of us 'newbies' in here. The good Lord will favour you in all ways..

In my opinion, I guess I am still quite new in the system to comment. However, from the 20days spent in here thus far, I think it is EASIER AND BETTER to stay in Nigeria (if you don't have money to spend and you don't have mind to do things in the 'wrong' way) than to come in here... (Well, I might be wrong though)

The system is just too Hostile.

My advice - PLEASE ensure you get a FUNDING (G.A, R.A, or the likes).

Now to my question - It happens I have an admission @ a school (no funding and high tuition). Should be starting this Spring. However I discussed with a professor willing to accept me at Texas A&M for Summer.

If I am able to secure the admission letter before paying the fees, Is it possible I transfer successfully without falling out of status? Is it possible I change I-20 by February to the new school and remain here till the program starts by summer?

In the event I pay the fees and after a semester I transfer to the new school (with only 10 credit hours done) Would I transfer to start afresh or will the credit hours count?

I do hope someone understands my plight and gives me advice.

N.B:'My papa no get money oooo'

God bless

When we advise that you have at least one semester's worth of tuition and living expenses, you think some people just enjoy scaring people away. This particular scenario keeps repeating itself since nobody cares to listen. The exchange rate is not favorable at all...get funding BEFORE leaving Nigeria or stay till you get one, or you might find life really really tough here..and yeah face the music
Well in your case, your school has to report your SEVIS status as a student this Spring taking the minimum required number of courses or you'd definitely be out of status! Wrt transfer, talk to your international office and graduate advisor.

You can help yourself. smiley

Read this section from page 1 to learn much.
Then visit the USA visa section online to again learn.

And stay away from agents, you can do everything yourself.
Examine your finances to understand what you can afford.
Working to pay for study is not a valid option.

Hello great people... I have a piece of onion to add to this awesome thread!!!

Well, a lot of persons have attributed their success at the consulate to the great minds on this thread. I applaud your efforts.

However, while some persons are rejoicing and sending out message of gratitude to those that contributed to their success in one way or the other, others are in search/begging for 1 or 2 persons that will vet their transcripts.

It is to this light that I write this;
A few of our colleagues just faced d consulate and it didn't turn out well for them simply because some of us have REFUSED to assist in vetting their mocks. It is not good an unfair. I don't want this to result to name-calling and abuses though, but it is as a result of this that they were unable to come out successful.

Inasmuch as we are VERY BUSY with our daily routines, 5 mins for a brovda isn't bad at all. This thread had helped u during your own time too, why not help those behind.

A whatsapp group has been created by a group of our colleagues @Christian129 and others here to help drill and correct red flags in mocks. I would plead with you all to help out ou colleagues via that platform too.

I raise my case.

Cc @Justwise @Walspring @texrem @Oludare01 @Sureb0y @lagosismyhome

We need to understand that everyone has a tight schedule and anyone who message me about vetting i do tell the person how tight my schedules are and i still get it done and always advice them to send to some other people should in case i didn't have the time to reply..

check your pm

Tell your school about your new financial predicament. Let them know it was unexpected. Tell them that an institution is willing to offer you a scholarship. Except they have a scholarship offer for you cheesy . show them your account details if possible. The would reconsider bro.
Best of Luck.
