It's a tough decision.

Kendrick is a lyricsist, he makes you see the world in different angle, from his EP to Overly Dedicated mixtape, he talks about life as an underdog, how he is not influenced by the society, then he was forced to drop Section 80 where he talked about life in a third person, like Tammy song which talks about a good girl gone bad & Keisher song about a girl who was insecure, he then talked about his own insecurity in the track The Spiteful Chant. He then dropped his best critical acclaim album "good kid, mAAd city" where he talk about himself, peer pressure while growing up & his girlfriend Sherane which was also a good and a bad influence. Everything change for Kendrick when he released ToPimpAButterfly album, he's now an activist and motivator.

Why J. Cole right from time raps from personal experience, he uses experience to inspire in his music. from his mixtape to album as been very consistent.

For motivation I listen to Kendrick, For inspiration I listen to J. Cole.

Chief, I'm a Hard core J. Cole fan, but Kendrick killed Black Friday, I mean from the composition, to his voice, to his dissing stupid rappers. It was just hot. Kendrick is more of a Poet, he's a deep poet that, you gotta use your dictionary or Google search terms or phrases he uses. J. Cole speaks to you while Kendrick speaks for you. J Cole's got a huge female fanbase because of the type of music that he makes plus he got the looks too,to me that is already a win
